2019 RTSports Outlook

Graham didn't have quite the first season as expected with the Packers. He had a few big showings but was pretty mediocre most weeks. He was 12th overall in fantasy tight end scoring, but had 55 receptions for 636 yards and two touchdowns. His season was similar to the past few years, not showing quite as well as he did with the Saints earlier in his career. Graham is what he is at this stage of his career. He is not likely to see a big improvement over the past few seasons. Graham is a pretty complete package at tight end. He is a big target with top speed and the ability to make the tough catch. Graham is a top athlete that looked more like an elite receiver earlier in his career than tight end.

FANTASY OUTLOOK:   Graham was setup for a bounce-back season last year and didn't take advantage. Expect more of the same this year. He might get around 60 catches for 600 yards and five or so touchdowns. He is a low-end No. 1 tight end and maybe even a spot starter.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Aaron Rodgers just hasnt seemed to gel with a tight end since Jermichael Finley. The likes of Jared Cook, Martellus Bennett, and now Jimmy Graham have been brought to the Frozen Tundra of Green Bay in order to give Rodgers a weapon in the middle of the field and in the red zone. Last year, it didnt quite pan out as the Packers had hoped as Graham caught 55 passes on 89 targets for 636 yards and only 2 TDs. Currently, Graham is being drafted in the 13th round. With the addition of first-year head coach Matt LaFleur, the Green Bay offense should have a new look but this isnt necessarily good news for Graham. The Titans, whom LaFleur was the offensive coordinator for last year, finished 25th in the league in TE targets. Delanie Walkers injury and their slow pace of play surely contributed to this, though. When LaFleur was with the Rams in 2017 under head coach Sean McVay, the Rams ranked 27th in TE targets. All of this in addition to Graham having to learn a new offense for the second straight year. He is a phenomenal talent though and continues to be insanely athletic. He could have a chance to thrive in 2019 with a more efficient offense but he will need more red zone targets as he only recorded five receptions on 11 targets for three TDs.

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham struggled in the matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Graham was unable to catch either of the targets that he was given in the matchup. The game script seemed to be the biggest enemy for the veteran tight end. The Packers jumped out to a lead in the opening half, finding success on the ground. Graham will be looking to be more involved in the Packers next matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Sep 13 6:53pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 13, but is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Fantasy Spin: Graham was able to find the end zone in Week 1 but posted only 30 yards and three catches. He is still a red zone target for the Packers and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in some leagues because of his touchdown potential.

From TheHuddle

Sep 13 3:23pm ET

Green Bay Packers LB Oren Burks (chest) was unable to practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 2 versus the Minnesota Vikings. WR Darrius Shepherd (hamstring) was upgraded to limited participation Friday, Sept. 13, but has also been ruled out. OT David Bakhtiari (back) and CB Ka'dar Hollman (neck) were also limited in practice Friday but are listed as questionable. TE Jimmy Graham (finger) was limited in practice as well but has been removed from the injury report. OT Bryan Bulaga (rest), CB Josh Jackson (Achilles), CB Kevin King (hamstring, chest), C Corey Linsley (elbow), OG Cole Madison (ankle), LB Blake Martinez (shoulder), S Will Redmond (ankle), WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (shoulder), RB Jamaal Williams (shoulder), CB Tramon Williams (rest) and CB Jaire Alexander (knee) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Sep 12 6:13pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) remained limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Graham should be good to go for Week 2 after catching three of five targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in the season opener. He's a fringe TE1 but he has an adequate matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.

From TheHuddle

Sep 12 4:20pm ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham should be given consideration to be part of your starting lineup this week. Against a tough unit in the opening week of the season, Graham was able to score the game's only touchdown. A bigger indication of his ability in the offense was that quarterback Aaron Rodgers trusted him, even with tight coverage. However, the Minnesota Vikings limited tight ends last season to only score three touchdowns. Graham isn't the downfield threat that he once was, and his fantasy value will hinge on touchdowns- this week there might be better options for fantasy owners.

From RotoBaller

Sep 11 8:20pm ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham (finger) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. The 32-year-old should be just fine for a divisional showdown at home in Week 2 against the Vikings. Graham caught three of five targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in the opener last Thursday. He's no longer the elite TE1 he was during his time with the Saints, but Graham can be a serviceable high-end, touchdown-dependent TE2 in Green Bay's new offense. Hopefully they come out looking a lot smoother than they did against Chicago, but Minnesota is still a tough draw.

From RotoBaller

Sep 11 7:03pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Graham scored the only touchdown for the Packers in Week 1 but finished the game with only 30 yards. He will continue to see targets in the passing game but may only be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 6 4:00am ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham caught the only touchdown in the opening matchup against the Chicago Bears. Graham had six targets, catching three of them for 30 yards and a touchdown. Graham didn't seem to struggle in the matchup and was able to catch the ball, even with the hand injury he picked up in the preseason. The matchup against the Bears was going to be tough for the Packers, however, fantasy owners who drafted Graham will be buoyed by his opening performance.

From RotoBaller

Sep 6 12:03am ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham caught three of his six targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in a 10-3 win over the Chicago Bears Thursday, Sept. 5.

Fantasy Spin: A lack of production in the red zone was Graham's biggest issue last season, so the early touchdown is an encouraging sign. He's at least a low-end TE1.

From TheHuddle

Sep 4 2:13pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. The team did not practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Graham should receive his normal workload this week but will be facing one of the better defenses in the NFL. Fantasy players can consider benching Graham if they have more favorable options.

From TheHuddle

Sep 3 4:50pm ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham (finger) was upgraded to a full practice on Tuesday. Graham should be fine to start in the regular season opener against the Bears on Thursday night. The long-time Saint could easily bounce back in the touchdown department in this new offense, but fantasy owners are better off deploying him as a TE2 until further notice. Against a Chicago defense that was one of the stingiest in 2018, Graham also is more of a TE2 in DFS on Thursday night.

From RotoBaller

Sep 2 6:23pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 2.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will know more about Graham's status later in the week. He will be facing one of the top defenses if he plays and could be benched if owners have better options available.

From TheHuddle

Sep 1 5:23pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) was able to practice Sunday, Sept. 1.

Fantasy Spin: Although Graham disappointed in his first year in Green Bay, especially in the touchdown department, he still finished in the top 10 in both catches and yards among tight ends. He's a low-end TE1 candidate.

From TheHuddle

Aug 31 4:50pm ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham faces a tough opening matchup against the Chicago Bears. Graham was wholly ineffective last season, posting low numbers on his past few seasons. Part of that was the offense as a whole being ineffective last season, part was due to the injuries he played through. Either way, Graham is likely to bounce back this season but could have a slow start with the opening match against the Bears. The Bears gave up an average of 5.8 points per game last season, which was one of the best figures in the league. Fantasy owners may want to shy away for the opening week and monitor for the second week of the season.

From RotoBaller

Aug 23 5:50am ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham missed the preseason encounter against the Oakland Raiders, due to issues with the field. Graham was one of a number of starters who sat on the sidelines. Graham may have been limited, regardless of the field, due to a finger injury that he picked up in training. However, the veteran tight end has impressed in training camp and could be a great late-round pickup for fantasy owners.

From RotoBaller

Aug 21 3:40am ET

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham missed practice with an injured finger, but he won't require surgery on it. Graham has been impressive in camp, after developing on his chemistry with starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, with Graham missing time through injury this gives rookie Jace Sternberger an opportunity to impress. Graham should be a good fantasy option in the later rounds of drafts, but if he continues to miss time through injury then that could change.

From RotoBaller

Aug 19 4:53pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) doesn't need surgery, according to head coach Matt LaFleur. Graham will 'be all right,' said LaFleur.

Fantasy Spin: Graham remains a fringe TE1 with the expectation of a full 16-game season.

From TheHuddle

Aug 19 2:53pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (thumb) isn't at practice Monday, Aug. 19, due to a thumb injury.

Fantasy Spin: The issue still isn't considered to be a major concern. Graham remains a low-end TE1.

From TheHuddle

Aug 19 8:30am ET

Green Bay Packers tight end left a recent practice with an injury, a potential dislocated finger. Graham is the clear option at the position for the team and should be a decent fantasy option for owners that are taking their tight end at the end of drafts. However, Graham struggled with injury last season, and a further injury to his hand could deter fantasy owners from drafting him. If Graham were to miss time, it is unlikely that a combination of Marcedes Lewis, Robert Tonyan or rookie Jace Sternberger are going to be fantasy relevant.

From RotoBaller

Aug 18 4:23pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (finger) ran off the field Sunday, Aug. 18, after appearing to dislocate his finger, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Fantasy Spin: The injury shouldn't affect Graham's draft stock, as he's unlikely to miss any regular-season action. He remains a fringe TE1 target, but he has upside based on his past resume.
