Prosise had injury issues once again last year, eventually needing abdomen surgery. He played just five games and had four offensive touches. Prosise has played 16 games in three seasons. He is going to have to earn a roster spot for the coming year. Prosise has good size for the position and also good moves in space. He catches the ball well and can be an asset in the passing game after playing as a receiver much of his college career. He still needs to work on his between the tackles running. Durability is a big concern for Prosise after having a hard time staying on the field his first three seasons.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Prosise has a hard time staying healthy, making him a tough guy for fantasy teams to pick. His touches will be limited. He could get around 200 total yards with a score.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise has head coach Pete Carroll 'fired up' heading into training camp. 'To add him into the competition is really nice,' Carroll said.
Fantasy Spin: Once a promising PPR option, injuries have derailed Prosise's career. Even if he makes the roster, he won't be worth drafting.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that running back C.J. Prosise has been healthy this offseason as he tries to win the third-down pass-catching role behind Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny. "He has been fit throughout, hes really strong, worked out really hard in the offseason to get his strength right, and his weight is up, but hes fit and has really been able to do a little bit of everything. So to add him into the competition is really nice. So we're fired up about C.J. being back," Carroll said. Prosise will be competing with J.D. McKissic and rookie Travis Homer. The 25-year-old Prosise showed promise in his rookie year in 2016 but has played in 16 games in his three seasons and just hasn't been able to stay on the field. At best, he'll be a PPR flex sleeper if he wins the third-down job for a team that led the league in rushing in 2019.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise could be cut in order to keep RBs J.D. McKissic and Travis Homer, in the opinion of the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, who believes the team may not be able to sneak Homer onto the practice squad and that McKissic's dependability gives him an edge over Prosise.
Seattle Seahawks RBs C.J. Prosise, J.D. McKissic and Travis Homer will all be candidates for the third-down back role during training camp. Prosise and Homer did miss some time this offseason because of hamstring injuries.
Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (hamstring) reportedly left practice with a tight hamstring Thursday, June 13, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
