2019 RTSports Outlook

Gordon landed with the Patriots last year and seemed on his way to great things but had an-other hiccup off the field. He is suspended indefinitely. He could be reinstated before the season, during the season or after the season. It really isn't known at this point. He just needs to get himself clean and stay clean, which is easier said than done for Gordon, who has battled substance abuse since entering the league. The positive for Gordon was he played well with the Patriots, having 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Gordon had two 100-yard games and at least four receptions seven games. The Patriots already resigned Gordon, so if he plays again, it will be with the Patriots. Gordon is a very talented player. He is a matchup nightmare for defenses because of his combination of size and speed.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Gordon is obviously a huge risk. He has a high ceiling if playing, though. He can post big numbers in this offense but you just never know what will happen with Gordon. He might be the biggest question mark in the draft. It all comes down to price tag for Gordon. If you can get him at a good price, he is worth the risk. If not, don't bother.

RotoBaller's Outlook

New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon will get another shot at NFL redemption with the New England Patriots in 2019. Gordon was reinstated from the commissioners exempt list late in the preseason, but will get the chance to line up for the Patriots in Week 1. Gordon has flashed his extraordinary talent in the past, and was having success in New England prior to leaving the team last season. In 11 games he had 720 yards, with three touchdowns on 68 targets and 40 receptions. His catch% was not ideal, sitting below 60%, but it is always tough joining a team late and hopefully he built up enough rapport with Brady last season to improve that efficiency in 2019. If Gordon gets it right and can stay on the field he has the ability to be a must-start receiver every week, especially with Brady looking for a new touchdown threat without recently retired Rob Gronkowski. The value on Gordon right now is rising, but his history means that there is always a chance his current ADP will still present value come seasons end. However, beware it could all come crashing down very quickly.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon got to play in his first game with the team on Monday night and made a small but critical impact when he caught a pair of passes late in the game. Both catches came on third downs and got the respective first downs. Gordon looked like he was in ridiculous shape, but it will take a couple more games for his role to really be fleshed out. An injury to Tyler Lockett (leg contusion) possibly opens up some more opportunities, and a handy bye week next Sunday will allow Gordon some extra time to learn the playbook. He could still be useful yet.

From RotoBaller

Nov 12 12:33am ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon finished with two grabs for 27 yards on two targets in his team debut in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon was used in some key situations, especially late in the game for a critical first down, but he was also taken off the field in critical situations when the team might have called for a play he was unfamiliar after just recently joining the team. He'll have two weeks to acclimate with the team off next week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 7:13pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 10 game.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon has been with the Seahawks for a little over a week, so he may see limited snaps this week against the San Francisco 49ers. Fantasy players probably should see him play in a game before considering him as a starting option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 10:43am ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) has been removed from the injury report but is still considered a game-time decision for Week 10's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon is a risky fantasy option this week because the Seahawks play on Monday Night Football. If you're willing to roll the dice with him as a flex option, make sure you have an alternative option available in case he's deactivated.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 6:03pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) practiced in full Saturday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon enters Week 10 with a broad range of potential outcomes for his fantasy contributions in his debut with the Seahawks. Fantasy managers can likely find a safer option but the upside is certainly there.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 5:13pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) 'did really well' in practice this week and has a 'good chance' of playing Monday, Nov. 11, according to head coach Pete Carroll Saturday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon will warrant consideration as a flex option this week against the San Francisco 49ers. He'll start with a very low fantasy floor as he's integrated into the offense alongside Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 3:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks newly-acquired wide receiver Josh Gordon has been limited in practice this week due to an ankle injury, and it leaves the idea of a Monday debut in question. Gordon joined the team last week after he was claimed off waivers, and he's expected to slot in as the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf. Even if he's deemed healthy, Gordon is questionable for this week's game simply because of how new he is to the offense. Gordon has always been an athletic freak, and early reports from teammates regularly mentioned his physical conditioning, but his struggles with the mental and emotional side of the game are famous. Gordon could be a nice addition, but it's unlikely he'll make much of an impact this week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 8 7:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 8.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon is a bit of a risky option since the Seahawks plays on Monday Night Football but should see some targets if he is active for the game. He can be a flex option in some leagues, but fantasy players may want to see him in the Seahawks offense before considering him a starting option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 7:53pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon was said to be looking in great shape at Thursday's practice, according to many of his new teammates. It remains to be seen how he'll be incorporated alongside Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf, but he's a proven big-play and red-zone threat. He can be a flex option Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

From TheHuddle

Nov 4 1:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon (knee) passed his physical with the team on Saturday and will practice this week in hopes of making his debut with the team on Monday night against the unbeaten 49ers. Seattle will have three-wide sets of Tyler Lockett, impressive rookie D.K. Metcalf and Gordon if he's cleared to play this week. David Moore and Jaron Brown will be the biggest losers with Gordon joining the fray, but Gordon won't be guaranteed to have weekly fantasy appeal as the No. 3 despite joining MVP candidate Russell Wilson's offense. Still, Gordon is worth picking up and stashing if he was dropped by his previous owner after the Patriots put him on Injured Reserve and then waived him.

From RotoBaller

Nov 4 9:53am ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon (knee) passed his physical Saturday, Nov. 2, and will practice this week. He hopes to debut with the team for the Monday night game in Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon will have a tough test against the San Francisco 49ers, but he's worthy of a WR3 start.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 2:43pm ET

The Seattle Seahawks have declared WR John Ursua, WR Gary Jennings, WR Josh Gordon, RB C.J. Prosise, CB Quandre Diggs, DL Quinton Jefferson and S Lano Hill inactive for Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Nov 2 6:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon had nine different teams wanting to work him out if he cleared waivers, his agent told Pro Football Talk Saturday, Nov. 2. The Seahawks were the only team to submit a waiver claim for the former New England Patriots wideout.

From TheHuddle

Nov 2 12:43pm ET

Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon didn't generate any waiver-wire interest outside of Seattle as the Seahawks were the only team to put in a claim.

Fantasy Spin: It only takes one, and Gordon landed in a good spot with Pete Carroll, Russell Wilson and Co. He should eventually settle in as a WR3/4, but give him a few weeks to get acclimated.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 7:50pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon (knee) was claimed off of waivers by the Seattle Seahawks Friday. Gordon passed his exit physical with the Patriots, and he is healthy. However, it's highly unlikely he suits up in Week 9. He could play in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers before the team's bye week in Week 11. Gordon needs to be owned in all formats as he has WR2 upside any given week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 1 5:13pm ET

Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Patriots) was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks on Friday, Nov. 1.

Fantasy Spin: Seattle is not a bad landing spot for Gordon considering he will have a chance to play with Russell Wilson and is going to an offense that likes to take downfield shots. However, it could put a bit of a dent in the fantasy stock of D.K. Metcalf. From a pure fantasy perspective, it seems more likely that Gordon will be more of a splash WR3/WR4 type than a weekly difference-maker.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 5:13pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon was not released from injured reserve by the deadline for Thursday, Oct. 31, and can't be claimed by a new team until Monday, Nov. 4, if the move is made official Friday or Saturday.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 4:40pm ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon (knee) is being released off Injured Reserve on Thursday, according to a source. Gordon will become available to all other teams and should get picked up quickly given his talent, but it remains to be seen where he'll land and whether he'll have a chance to become fantasy relevant again. The 28-year-old was mostly a disappointment in his time in New England, and he had 20 receptions on 36 targets for 287 yards and one score in his six games this season. The Patriots are using Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett and Mohamed Sanu in three-receiver sets moving forward. Gordon can be dropped in shallow leagues, if he hasn't been already.

From RotoBaller

Oct 31 3:53pm ET

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (knee) was waived from the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Oct. 31, and is now subject to waivers, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: There is a chance that Gordon is claimed off waivers, so fantasy players should monitor the situation. He posted decent numbers with the Patriots this season and could be a starting fantasy option depending on his new team.

From TheHuddle

Oct 26 12:53pm ET

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (knee) expects to be ready to resume playing in one or two weeks, sources said Saturday, Oct. 26, and that would trigger his release from the Reserve/Injured list and the Patriots.

Fantasy Spin: Gordon's time with the Patriots is done, but he's only 28 and is a player to stash or keep an eye, particularly in deeper leagues.
