Brady played fine last year but didn't produce his usual fantasy numbers, finishing 13th overall in fantasy quarterback scoring. He wasn't quite as consistent as past seasons, having one or no scores seven games. He still had his usual huge games but was a little more inconsistent for his fantasy owners. This could be a trend for Brady, who turns 42 years old before the start of the season. Brady has 10 4,000-yard seasons for his career and thrown fewer than 10 interceptions four of five seasons. Brady does a great job of distributing the ball to all his options and rarely turns the ball over. He has a strong arm and is extremely accurate. Brady knows the offense well and has made the most of his abilities throughout his career.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Brady isn't quite the elite option of past years. He doesn't have the top options in the passing game as past year and his numbers suffered some last year because of this. His age also is a concern as well as his interception total (11) rising last year. Consider him a low-end No. 1, finishing with similar numbers to last season. Brady can get around 4,300 yards and 30 touchdowns with minimal interceptions.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady continues defy the concepts of age and time. Brady's 2018 season included: his 10th 4,000-yard season, his 14th season of 25-plus touchdowns and, of course, his sixth Super Bowl. Brady has proven time and time again that he is, perhaps, the greatest quarterback of all time. But for fantasy owners, Brady will be one of the biggest buyer beware cases of 2019. The first statistic to keep in mind is that Brady finished 14th among quarterbacks in fantasy points last season. The 41-year-old threw for one or fewer touchdowns in eight games in 2018, including a five-game stretch when he only threw for four touchdowns. He also feasted on the lesser competition of his division, tossing 12 touchdowns to only two interceptions in four games against the Jets and Dolphins. It would be unwise to completely write Brady off for 2019 but fantasy owners need to draft him appropriately. Brady should certainly be drafted (albeit the later rounds) and will still put up some elite performances, especially against his own division. But ideally Brady is merely a matchup-based play at this point in his career and fantasy teams would be wise to roster two quarterbacks if Brady is drafted in 2019.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will take on a Jets Defense this Monday night that has allowed the 14th fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Brady this season is completing 65.4% of his passes this season for 1,743 yards with 12 total touchdowns and three interceptions for the undefeated Patriots. But the future Hall of Famer has looked mortal during stretches of games and has an interception in each of his last three games. The Patriots offense also is dealing with injuries at the wide receiver position and are still sorting out the pecking order at the tight end position. But Brady will have top-12 QB potential against a Jets defense that he threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns against in Week 3.
Patriots' QB Tom Brady scored 27.30 fantasy points in Thursday's Week 6 win against the Giants. Brady threw for 334 yards on 31-of-41 and one interception. It's the 4th time this season Brady scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 31 of 41 passes for 334 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the team's 21-point win over the New York Giants on Thursday, Oct. 10. Brady also ran for two touchdowns and fumbled twice, losing one.
Fantasy Spin: Brady had some sloppy moments early on, committing two turnovers and almost turning it over twice on the same play, but when the smoke cleared he'd thrown for 300-plus yards once again. He did fail to throw for a TD for the second time in three weeks, but a pair of QB sneaks for scores saved his value in Week 6. The big thing now is how severe injuries to Josh Gordon and Matt LaCosse are as Brady is starting to run short on weapons.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 31-of-41 passes for 334 yards, two rushing touchdowns and one interception in the Patriots Week 6 victory over the Giants. Brady was solid, not spectacular, punching in two 1-yard dives for touchdowns. The future HOF player did not find the end zone with his arm in this matchup and the offense sputtered at times. But the Patriots offense did just enough and Brady provided fantasy production that won't make-or-break lineups this week.
Patriots' QB Tom Brady passed for 334 yards on 31-of-41 but no touchdowns in Thursday's win against the Giants. It was Brady's 2nd consecutive 300+ yard passing game. He has averaged 341 yards passing in those games.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady passed Peyton Manning for second among all-time leaders in passing yards Thursday, Oct. 10.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have a dynamite matchup against a leaky Giants secondary this Thursday. Brady has passed for 10 touchdowns and 1,409 yards this season but, at times, has struggled to move the football at an elite level. But the Patriots Defense has been so fantastic that the Patriots offense simply needs to put a few strong drives together. Brady will go up against a Giants Defense that is allowing the seventh most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, including 20-plus fantasy points to four different quarterbacks this season. Three of those quarterbacks have passed for more than 300 yards and the Patriots have a history with the Giants organization. Brady and Co. should dominate on Thursday, making Brady a top-8 play in Week 6.
Patriots' QB Tom Brady scored 28.40 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 5 win in Washington. Brady threw for 348 yards on 28-of-42 with three touchdowns and one interception. It's the 3rd time this season Brady scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 28-of-42 passes for 348 yards, three touchdowns and one interception as the Patriots cruised to a 33-7 win over the Redskins. The Patriots found themselves early in a strange spot; trailing in a game. But the Patriots offense quickly corrected that en route to rattling off 33 unanswered points. Brady completed passes to nine different receivers and now has 300-plus passing yards in three games this season. Brady will be on a short-week but will have a juicy matchup against a leaky Giants secondary this coming Thursday.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 28-of-42 passes for 348 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Spin: Brady bounced back after a goose egg last week in Buffalo. He now has two or more touchdowns in four of his five outings, and even has a rushing touchdown on the season. He remains a solid low-end QB1 heading into a short week against the New York Giants on Thursday night.
New England Patriots' QB Tom Brady passed for 348 yards on 28-of-42 with three touchdowns in Sunday's win in Washington.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have a fantastic matchup against the hapless Redskins in Week 5. Brady has thrown seven touchdowns this season with only one interception but could play it safe if this game gets out of hand early. The Redskins Defense has already allowed three touchdown passes to three different quarterbacks this season and many expect the Patriots to cruise to victory. Brady could easily post elite numbers in the first half but the team may lean on the running game to run out the clock in the second half. This could stunt Brady's fantasy potential in Week 5.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 18-of-39 passes 150 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills and he also ran three times for minus-3 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Brady has carved up the Bills in his career, and his team still got the win here, but this was not what fantasy owners were expecting. The Pats will look to bounce back against the winless Redskins in D.C. in Week 5.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 18 of 39 passes for only 150 yards in a win at Buffalo Sunday. Brady threw his first interception of the season while failing to throw a touchdown for the first time this year after throwing at least two in each of the first three weeks. Brady had been limited in practice all week with a calf issue and the Patriots dominated the game on defense and special teams so Brady wasn't called upon to do much. Brady has a favorable matchup next week against a Redskins Defense that is in the top-8 in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. However, if the Patriots jump out to a lead again, he may not have the passing volume to put up top-10 fantasy numbers.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have plenty of challenges to overcome in order to post top-10 fantasy numbers this week against the Bills. Brady has been limited in practice all week with a calf injury, joining teammates Rex Burkhead and Julian Edelman also on the injury report. These developments coupled with playing a Bills Defense that, through three games, is allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing passers this season and Brady could struggle to post an elite line. The Bills defense has four interceptions over the past two weeks and, outside of Josh Gordon, the Patriots will be limited in terms of explosive weapons. The Patriots could win the game but this battle could turn into a low-scoring slug-fest quickly.
New England Patriots DL Michael Bennett (shoulder), RB Rex Burkhead (foot), DB Nate Ebner (groin), WR Julian Edelman (chest), LB Dont'a Hightower (shoulder), TE Matt LaCosse (ankle) and OL Marshall Newhouse (illness) were limited in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and are listed as questionable for Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills. TE Ryan Izzo (calf), OL Joe Thuney (shoulder) and OL Marcus Cannon (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday and were removed from the injury report. QB Tom Brady (calf) was not given a practice designation Friday but no longer appears on the injury report.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 26, and has been removed from the Week 4 injury report.
Fantasy Spin: Brady is off to an outstanding start to the season but will be facing a solid Buffalo Bills defense in Week 4. He can still be a starting option in all fantasy leagues this week.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Fantasy Spin: It's likely just a routine maintenance day for the 42-year-old. He'll face his toughest matchup of the season Sunday against the defense of the Buffalo Bills.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady went 28-for-42 for 306 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets in Week 3.
Fantasy Spin: Brady has thrown for seven touchdowns in the first three games and also has at least 300 yards in two of the three games. He is once again a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues and should be a starter next week against the Buffalo Bills.
Patriots' QB Tom Brady passed for 306 yards on 28-of-42 with two touchdowns in Sunday's win against the Jets.
