Woods did not have quite the season he hoped last year, his first with the Titans. He started but was really quiet most week, finishing with 53 receptions for 527 yards and two scores in all 17 games. He had just four games all year with double-digit fantasy points. He did not have more than 90 yards in a single game. Woods signed with the Texans during the offseason and will look to start with his new team. Woods will be 31 years old this season and is coming off a disappointing season. His future is a little uncertain. He does have plenty of past success, though, including two 1,000-yard seasons. Woods knows how to get open and can make plays all over the field. Woods has the speed to stretch the field but also does well on shorter routes. He does lack a little strength, though, and could play with more toughness. Fantasy Outlook: Woods is a pretty ho-hum fantasy option. He might see his production go up a little with his new team but don't expect a big jump. He could get 60 receptions for 650 yards and a few scores. He has more value in deeper formats as a reserve receiver.

The Houston Texans will have an estimated $65.4 million in salary cap space in 2024, so they are in good shape. But if they are going to cut someone to gain even more cap space this offseason, The Athletic's Mike Jones speculates it could be veteran wide receiver Robert Woods. While Woods has been regarded as a reliable veteran, his production has declined in recent years, and he's set to count $9.75 million against the cap. He had only 40 catches for 426 yards and a touchdown in 14 games in 2023, and the emergence of young receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell could cause the soon-to-be 32-year-old to be expendable. If he's cut, Woods would come with a $4.75 million dead-cap hit. Even after Dell suffered a season-ending injury last year, Woods found it difficult to stand out for the Texans and fantasy managers.

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) is cleared to play against the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round. Woods has been dealing with a hip issue for several weeks now. But the veteran will play through it once again on Saturday. He saw limited playing time last week after seeing just 33% of the Texans' offensive snaps. He caught just one pass for 11 yards in the Wild-Card Round win. Woods hasn't been a huge part of Houston's offensive game plan in recent weeks, which makes him a risky option in all daily fantasy sports (DFS) contests this weekend.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 18, but is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game.
Fantasy Spin: Woods has been dealing with the injury for multiple weeks but probably will see a handful of targets this week. He has not been a big factor in the passing game during the second half of the season and can be avoided if better options are available.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 17.
Fantasy Spin: Woods has not been a big part of the passing game over the last several weeks but could see a few more targets this week with Noah Brown out. Fantasy players in most leagues likely will have better options available and can avoid Woods.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans FB Andrew Beck (back), OG Dieter Eiselen (illness), DE Jerry Hughes (ankle), OG Shaq Mason (rest), DT Sheldon Rankins (ribs, shoulder), and OT Laremy Tunsil (rest) did not practice Tuesday, Jan. 16. DE Will Anderson Jr. (ankle), LB Blake Cashman (knee), DT Maliek Collins (hip), DE Jonathan Greenard (ankle), WR John Metchie (foot), LB Denzel Perryman (ribs), and WR Robert Woods (hip) were limited at practice.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) is listed as available for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Woods didn't practice to start the week, but was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday. He'll return to the field for this game alongside fellow wideout Noah Brown (back) who also missed Week 18. The return of these two will give the Texans' passing game a much-needed boost. Despite his return, Woods remains a risky DFS option given the fact Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz, and Brown are all active for this game.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) is making good progress in his recovery and appears likely to play in the Wild Card playoff game unless he suffers a setback during pregame warmups, according to sources.
Fantasy Spin: Woods did not do much during practice leading up to the game but seems to have a chance to be in uniform for the playoff game. He will see a few targets if active for the game but probably can be avoided in most leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Noah Brown (back) and WR Robert Woods (hip) are expected to be game-time decisions for the Wild Card playoff game.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to check the inactive list to see if Brown and Woods will be able to play in the game. Both will see a handful of targets if they are active and can be flex options in fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 11, and is listed as questionable for the Wild Card playoff game.
Fantasy Spin: Woods was a limited participant during the last two days of practice and seems to have a good chance to play this week. He will see a few targets if he is active and could be a possible flex option in some leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.
Fantasy Spin: Woods appears to have a chance to play in the Wild Card playoff game, but fantasy players will have a better idea on his status in the next day or two. He will see a handful of targets if active and could be a possible flex option in some leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) was able to return to practice with the team on Wednesday after he was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday. Woods was held out of the Week 18 regular season finale win over the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday, but the fact that he returned to practice on Wednesday, bodes well for his chances of returning for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the visiting Cleveland Browns. About the only way fantasy managers playing DFS this week will want to consider the 31-year-old veteran for a lineup spot is if Noah Brown (back) misses a second straight game. The Browns secondary is one of the toughest for opposing wideouts, and Woods had only 40 receptions for 426 yards and one touchdown on 75 targets for Houston this year.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans DE Will Anderson Jr. (ankle), DT Maliek Collins (hip), DE Jonathan Greenard (ankle), DE Jerry Hughes (ankle), G Shaq Mason (rest), DT Sheldon Rankins (shoulder), OT Laremy Tunsil (rest), and WR Robert Woods (hip) did not practice Tuesday, Jan. 9. FB Andrew Beck (calf) and OL Michael Deiter (elbow) were limited participants at practice.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) was declared inactive for the Week 18 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Jan. 6.
Fantasy Spin: Woods hasn't been relevant for fantasy all season but expect Nico Collins to see a healthy target share on Saturday night.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (groin) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. This doesn't come as much of a surprise given Woods was considered questionable heading into this game. The Texans will be shorthanded at wideout with Noah Brown (back) joining Woods on the sideline. That means, Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson, and John Metchie III figure to start this game. Between the three, Collins is the only reliable option and should see a ton of looks during this must-win Saturday night matchup.
From RotoBaller
The Houston Texans have declared CB Kris Boyd, QB Case Keenum, LB Jonathan Greenard, OG Nick Broeker, WR Noah Brown and WR Robert Woods inactive for Week 18.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) is expected to be a game-time decision for the Week 18 game.
Fantasy Spin: Woods did not practice leading up to the game, so fantasy players will need to check the inactive list for his official status. He will see some targets in the passing game if he plays, but players may want to look for other options since Woods will be a risky option.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) was unable to practice all week but is listed as questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night. The Texans already ruled out Noah Brown (back) for this one, so if Woods doesn't get cleared to play on Saturday, the Texans will be down to Nico Collins, rookie Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III as their three receivers. Even if Woods plays, expect both Collins and tight end Dalton Schultz to be heavily targeted by quarterback C.J. Stroud in a must-win game for Houston. The 31-year-old Woods just hasn't been reliable at all for fantasy purposes, and that probably won't change this weekend if he's able to suit up. In 14 games this year, the veteran pass-catcher has just 40 grabs for 426 yards and one touchdown.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans WR Robert Woods (hip) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 18.
Fantasy Spin: Woods likely will be a game-time decision this week after missing all three practices leading up to the game. He will be a risky option if he is active, so fantasy players may want to consider other options. John Metchie could receive a bigger role if Woods is ruled out and could be a possible flex option in some leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans WR Noah Brown (back) and DE Jonathan Greenard (ankle) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 18 against the Indianapolis Colts. WR Robert Woods (hip) did not practice all week but is listed as questionable. DE Will Anderson Jr. (ankle), FB Andrew Beck (calf), DT Maliek Collins (hip), DT Sheldon Rankins (ankle) and OT Laremy Tunsil (groin) were limited in practice on Thursday, Jan. 4, and are also listed as questionable.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) missed his team's practice on Wednesday as he is dealing with a hip injury. Woods has now missed two straight practices to open the week as Houston prepares to face off against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. Woods will have one more day to get onto the practice field as Houston can get into the playoffs with a win over Indy on Saturday. If Woods ultimately doesn't play, the Texans could turn to John Metchie III alongside Nico Collins as Noah Brown (back) is dealing with an injury of his own.
