Rodriguez was third on the depth chart in Washington much of his rookie season. He got some work in that role, especially later in the season. He finished with 259 total yards and two touchdowns. He averaged a solid 4.8 yards per carry. Rodriguez has a chance to earn the top backup role this coming season. Rodriguez is a power back that gives the team a bit of a different dimension at running back. He finishes his runs well and can get downhill in a hurry. Rodriguez can be a great finisher in games. He lacks a little burst and does not have great moves in space. He also isn't much of a pass catcher at this stage of his career.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Rodriguez has a chance for more touches this year but probably is a stretch for fantasy teams to draft. He might get 400 or 500 total yards and a few scores.

The 23-year-old had a bigger workload with Brian Robinson Jr. out for the second straight game on Christmas Eve, and he responded by delivering 58 yards and two rushing scores on 10 rushing attempts for the second straight week. Rodriguez's right foot was seen in a walking boot after the game, so the results of Tuesday's MRI hopefully able to shed some light on what is ailing him.
