Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson couldn't get anything going through the air in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, going 16-for-29 for 159 yards and no touchdowns. Watson ran the ball four times for just five yards, but his fantasy day was saved by a rushing touchdown. It wasn't a good day, but it was also a meeting with the strong Jaguars Defense, so fantasy owners shouldn't assume that this will be a trend moving forward. Start him with confidence against the Chargers in Week 3.

Sep 13 8:23pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Fantasy Spin: Watson was hit a lot in Week 1 but was still able to post 268 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He has one of the best receiving corps to work with and should be a No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy leagues.

Sep 13 5:13pm ET

Houston Texans OG Senio Kelemete (wrist) and OL Greg Mancz (ankle) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable for Week 2 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. RB Taiwan Jones (elbow) was downgraded to a limited practice Friday, Sept. 13, and is also listed as questionable. WR DeAndre Hopkins (ribs) was a limited participant in practice all week but was removed from the injury report. WR Will Fuller (non-injury), WR Keke Coutee (ankle), Tashaun Gipson (wrist), OL Tytus Howard (finger), S Justin Reid (shoulder) and QB Deshaun Watson (back) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Sep 13 10:20am ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson faces the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, a matchup that's tough to draw conclusions from early in this NFL season. Jacksonville has been one of the NFL's best defenses for the past two years, a fact that would ordinarily limit Watson's upside and make him a low-end QB1. But the Jaguars were just torched in Week 1 by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which could mean that 2019 will be a year of drop-off for this defensive unit. It could also just mean that Mahomes in the best quarterback in the NFL and have no effect on the Jaguars moving forward. You're starting Watson this week no matter what, so existential questions about the Jaguars Defense don't need to concern you too much.

Sep 11 7:10pm ET

Texans' QB Deshaun Watson scored an impressive 34.40 fantasy points in Monday's Week 1 loss in New Orleans. Watson threw for 268 yards on 20-of-30 with three touchdowns and one interception. It's the 1st time this season Watson scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Sep 11 6:33pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (back) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Watson was roughed up in the Week 1 but is on track to play in Week 2. He threw for four touchdowns last week and should be considered a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues this week.

From TheHuddle

Sep 9 11:50pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns on 20-for-30 passing in Monday's loss to the New Orleans Saints. He also added 40 rushing yards on four carries, including a rushing touchdown in the first half. While there were some miscues -- Watson threw an interception and was sacked six times -- it was still a successful game for the third-year passer, who tried his hardest in the fourth quarter to give the Texans the win, throwing a 37-yard touchdown to Kenny Stills with under a minute to play. Monday showed why Watson was one of the first quarterbacks off the board in fantasy drafts, and he remains a top option at the position with a Week 2 matchup against a Jaguars team that was torn up by the Chiefs in Week 1.

Sep 9 11:13pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson completed 20 of his 30 attempts for 268 yards, three touchdowns and an interception Monday, Sept. 9, against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. Watson also ran four times for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Spin: He looked every bit the part of a top-five fantasy passer in this one, despite being sacked an all too familiar six times. One has to question how many more hits he can take before breaking down, but it should improve as left tackle Laremy Tunsil spends more time in the system after joining just five days ago. He remains a QB1 at home vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2.

From TheHuddle

Sep 4 11:20am ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson comes into 2019 with some new weapons and improved offensive line, and he'll look to get off to a fast start on Monday night against a Saints team that allowed the eighth-most passing yards last season. Watson may be without wide receiver Keke Coutee (ankle) in this one, but the addition of Kenny Stills should help soften that blow. Watson should be started in all formats on Monday and has the upside to finish as one of the best fantasy quarterbacks of Week 1 due to his ability as a rusher.

From RotoBaller

Aug 24 11:00pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson played just one series in Houston's preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He was sacked twice and watched teammate Lamar Miller get carted off the field, which probably contributed to head coach Bill O'Brien sending his star quarterback to the bench. Watson has the chance to be a top-five fantasy quarterback, but Houston's offensive line will have to give him a pocket. Saturday didn't help anyone feel better about that being a reality this year. You still draft Watson as a top quarterback, but do so with an understanding that he could get beat up this season.

From RotoBaller

Aug 17 11:40pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson played one series in Saturday's preseason win over the Detroit Lions, going 5-for-7 for 60 yards and a touchdown. Both incompletions came on accurate passes in the red zone. Houston was playing fast on that first series and running some no-huddle offense, which could be an indication that the team wants to pick up their pace in 2019. If they do, Watson's ceiling inches higher, though he remains limited by the team's questionable offensive line. Still, he should be drafted as a top-five quarterback.

From RotoBaller

Jul 10 9:23pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has accounted for 52 touchdowns, 45 passing and seven rushing, in 23 career games.

Fantasy Spin: Between his rushing stats and knack for putting the ball in the end zone, Watson has already established himself as a top-five fantasy quarterback. Entering his third season, Watson has a legitimate chance to finish as the top fantasy scorer at his position.

From TheHuddle

Jul 3 1:40pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is holding informal offseason workouts with Houston's receivers, including wide receiver Vyncint Smith, who says the workouts are helping build chemistry with the team's receivers and their quarterback. Watson is one of the NFL's best young quarterback, and getting extra time with his receivers should help the Texans offense this season, which has often been slow to start games. Watson threw for over 4000 yards and 26 touchdowns last season, and with a little more luck in terms of the health of his receivers, he could challenge for the top quarterback spot in fantasy this year.

From RotoBaller

May 10 10:23pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson will 'always make a jump' in performance, according to head coach Bill O'Brien. 'I've always said that I don't think there's any ceiling on Deshaun Watson,' O'Brien said.

Fantasy Spin: With plenty of weapons to throw to in the passing game and his running ability, Watson needs to be treated as a top-five fantasy at the quarterback position.

From TheHuddle

May 7 11:43pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson threw for 686 yards outside of the pocket in 2018 - the third-highest total in the NFL - according to Pro Football Focus.

From TheHuddle

Apr 25 11:00pm ET

The Houston Texans selected Alabama State offensive tackle Tytus Howard with the No. 23 overall pick of the 2019 NFL draft. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked the most in the NFL in 2018, so you could say they've had trouble protecting their signal-caller. He has the feet, balance and athleticism to play in the NFL. Howard has a lot of upside and will immediately improve Houston's weak offensive line, which is great news for both Watson and the team's rushing attack.

From RotoBaller

Apr 12 12:33pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson posted a league-best 88.2 passer rating when under pressure in the 2018 season.

Fantasy Spin: Watson lived up to the sophomore fantasy hype, throwing for 4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns while rushing for 551 yards and five scores to finish fourth among fantasy QBs. He'll be one of the top five QBs to come off the board again this summer.
