In a discussion between ESPN reporters Jeff Darlington and Adam Schefter on the Rich Eisen show last week, Darlington said that he expects the Tennessee Titans to "be in the mix" to sign New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who will become a free agent next month. The Raiders might also try to make a splash and sign Brady if the Patriots let him reach the open market. It would be a surprise if Brady left New England, but he's considering other options and could choose a playoff contender like the Titans after they reached the AFC Championship last year. Brady also played with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel in New England. Brady lacked weapons in the passing game in 2019, but he also looked a little washed up. If he were to go to Tennessee's run-first offense, Brady would be squarely in the QB2 mix with limited fantasy upside.

New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady has not made any progress in contract talks with the Patriots at this point.

Fantasy Spin: The two sides have about a month to negotiate until Brady becomes a free agent. Several of teams will pursue Brady if he hits the free-agent market, so the Patriots may need to sign Brady in the next few weeks. He likely will be considered a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback in 2020.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, a pending free agent, will receive a two-year, $60 million offer from the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Larry Fitzgerald Sr., a long-time member of the Minnesota media.

Fantasy Spin: It's definitely a different kind of offseason for the soon-to-be 43-year-old Brady, and it'll be more than intriguing to see if he lured by the big $$$ of a new team or decides to finish his career with the only franchise he's ever known. Even if he stays in New England, Brady is now a QB2 consideration for fantasy.

Feb 12 4:40pm ET

The Las Vegas Raiders are poised to pursue New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady if he doesn't re-sign with the Patriots before free agency begins, according to league sources. But it's uncertain if the Raiders can lure Brady to Las Vegas. The Patriots are expected to want a decision to be made well before the free-agent signing period begins on March 18, but Brady is "open-minded" on the free-agent process and other teams are expected to explore signing him. League sources believe that Raiders head coach Jon Gruden wants Brady on his team. Brady would have a strong offensive line in front of him and second-year back Josh Jacobs in the backfield, as well as receivers Darren Waller, Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfrow. Incumbent QB Derek Carr had career highs in passing yards (4,054), yards per attempt (7.9) and completion percentage (70.9) last year, but Gruden may be growing impatient with his signal-caller. If Brady were to go to Las Vegas, he'd have slightly better weapons than he did in New England last year.

Feb 12 4:30pm ET

The New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady haven't made any progress in contract talks, according to sources. The Patriots will absorb a $13.5 million salary cap charge if Brady is not on the roster when the 2020 league year begins on March 18, so owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick are expected to push for substantial talks with Brady and his agents before that date. If Brady's contract is extended before March 18, it would lessen the dead money on the team's 2020 salary cap. But if Brady is committed to talking to other teams in free agency, it would put the Pats in a tough financial spot and decreases his chances of returning. Kraft wants Brady to return, but they'll need to put better weapons around him for Brady to improve his play over what we saw in 2019.

Feb 12 9:43am ET

New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady is expected to have serious contract discussions with the team before the March 18 new league year. Brady hasn't had talks with the team yet, but he would cost them a $13.5 million salary cap charge if he's not on the roster by then. The Patriots project to have about $29 million in cap space, per sources. If Brady's contract is extended before the 2020 league year begins, it would lessen the dead money on the team's 2020 cap because it could be accounted for over multiple years.

Fantasy Spin: Brady could wind up being a low-end QB1 target in fantasy, but he'll need significant upgrades around him.

Feb 4 7:03pm ET

New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady is not expected to receive much interest from the Miami Dolphins if he hits the free-agent market, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: The Dolphins likely will select a quarterback in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft and can use Ryan Fitzpatrick as a bridge quarterback, so they do not need to sign Brady this offseason. Brady should receive interest in several teams and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some leagues depending on his situation.

Feb 3 11:33pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes joined Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl before the age of 25. Both Roethlisberger and Brady have gone on to win multiple titles in their careers.

Feb 3 10:50pm ET

The Miami Dolphins are unlikely to strongly pursue New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who is set to become a free agent in March, according to one source. Were a team thats building, and I dont know why hed really want to come to the Dolphins. Hes been one of the fiercest competitors there is and were at the stage with the Dolphins trying to really build a team for the future, owner Stephen Ross said. Miami is interested in having Ryan Fitzpatrick lead the Dolphins under center while mentoring a draft prospect as the team continues to rebuild. If Brady leaves New England, he'll be looking for a team with a chance to compete for a title. The Dolphins are not that.

From RotoBaller

Feb 3 2:00pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who will be a free agent in March, isn't believed to be demanding $30 million or more a season, according to a source. Seeing Brady return to the only organization he's known wouldn't be surprising, but it remains to be seen if there's mutual interest from both sides. The 42-year-old didn't have a great supporting cast in New England in 2019, but Tom Terrific also looked his age in not making it back to the Super Bowl for the first time in the last four years. No. 12 posted only a 60.8 completion percentage and will need guys around him in the passing game for him to return QB1 value in 2020.

From RotoBaller

Feb 3 10:03am ET

New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady is not seeking $30 million per year, according to a source. Brady feels adding weapons to the offense is a priority, though.

Fantasy Spin: TB12 really plummeted as the talent around him started to dissolve. He'll be a QB2 in drafts, but he could be a low-end QB1 with the right setup.

From TheHuddle

Feb 2 12:43pm ET

New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady likely will be a target for the Oakland Raiders if he hits the free-agent market, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: The Raiders have Derek Carr on the roster but likely would move on from him if they are able to sign Brady. Brady would have a decent group of pass catchers if he joins the Raiders but probably would still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Feb 2 12:03pm ET

The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to be among the teams that could be interested in New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Spin: The Chargers are expected to be in the market for a quarterback in free agency, since it appears unlikely that Philip Rivers will return to the club. Brady will be 43 years old in August and struggled mightily during the second half of the 2019 regular season, only topping the 300-yard mark once in his final 10 games. Heading into the 2020 campaign, he should be viewed as a QB2 in the majority of fantasy football leagues.

From TheHuddle

Feb 2 11:53am ET

The New England Patriots are reportedly willing to pay impending free-agent QB Tom Brady $30 million annually to keep him with the team, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Spin: A potential deal like this would bring Brady's salary more in line with other top NFL quarterbacks, although it would also help New England's chances of getting him back if the Patriots used the offseason to upgrade their other offensive weapons. He should be viewed as a QB2 in most fantasy formats at this stage of his career, although he could merit consideration as a low-end QB1 in deeper leagues if he lands in the right situation.

From TheHuddle

Jan 25 6:43am ET

The New England Patriots want to know if impending free-agent QB Tom Brady will return to the team for the 2020 season before the legal tampering period for free agency begins March 16, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Spin: Schefter reasoned that the Patriots want a quick decision so they can pursue other quarterbacks in free agency in case Brady chooses to leave the only organization he has ever played for. New England wants to avoid a situation similar to last season when Rob Gronkowski waited until late-March to announce his retirement, meaning that the best free-agent tight ends had already been signed by other clubs. From a fantasy standpoint, Brady should be viewed as a QB2 in most formats at this stage of his career but he could merit consideration as a low-end QB1 if he has plenty of offensive weapons surrounding him.

From TheHuddle

Jan 19 11:53am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady appears unlikely to agree to a new contract with the team before free agency begins in mid-March, according to multiple sources. He is expected to take a methodical approach to determine where he will play next season, since this is the first time in his career that he will be eligible for free agency.

Fantasy Spin: Brady, who will turn 43 in August, should be viewed as a QB2 in most fantasy formats at this stage of his career but if he lands in the right situation, he's worthy of consideration as a low-end QB1 in next year's drafts.

From TheHuddle

Jan 8 12:20pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who will become an unrestricted free agent in March, said that it was "probably unlikely" that he'd retire following the wild-card loss to the Titans last weekend, and he wrote on his Instagram account on Wednesday that "I still have more to prove." New England can't place the franchise tag on Brady, who turns 43 on Aug. 3. Owner Robert Kraft said that his "hope and prayer" is that Brady either plays for the Patriots or retires. In one of the worst seasons overall in his career, Brady finally started to show his age in 2019. He didn't have the best supporting cast either, but his arm strength showed decline, and he's unlikely to be anything more than a middling QB2 for fantasy owners if he returns to football for another season in 2020.

From RotoBaller

Jan 8 9:43am ET

New England Patriots impending free-agent QB Tom Brady hinted on his Instagram that he wasn't ready to retire. 'In both life and football, failure is inevitable. You don't always win. You can, however, learn from that failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again. And that's right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove,' Brady wrote.

Fantasy Spin: It would have been a shocker if TB12 hung them up after the Wild Card loss to the Tennessee Titans. The question that remains is: Where will he play? Who will he be coached and surrounded by? In a perfect situation, Brady will be a low-end QB1 in fantasy. However, it's more likely he'll be a QB2.

From TheHuddle

Jan 6 4:03pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (foot) played in the Wild Card playoff game despite suffering a foot injury at some point in December.

Fantasy Spin: Brady still posted decent numbers this season despite limited options in the passing game and finished with 4,057 yards and 24 touchdowns. It is not known who Brady will play for next season, but he can be considered a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

From TheHuddle

Jan 6 2:00pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who will be a free agent in March, is far from a guarantee to re-sign with the Patriots. Brady played potentially his final home game as a member of the Patriots on Saturday when they lost to the Titans in the wild-card game. He didn't have a ton of help outside of Julian Edelman in the passing game in 2019, but Brady's numbers were down across the board this year. He completed only 60.8 percent of his passes for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions for a passer rating of 88.0. The 42-year-old could choose to go elsewhere in 2020, but his declining arm strength will likely be an issue once again. Brady will be a low-upside QB2 depending on where he winds up.
