2019 RTSports Outlook

Knox was a third round pick in this year's draft. The Bills might have found their franchise tight end in Knox. He got very little work in the passing game in college, which is a concern, but has the tools to be very successful at this level. He is a good route runner that can make plays down the field. He has plus hands and does well as a blocker. He can be an asset to the running game, which should help his case to find the field his rookie year. He is likely the top backup this year but could be the starter before long.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Knox has some potential as a rookie because he could have a pretty big role in the offense. He will get some consistent playing time. His numbers won't be off the charts but could warrant him a few spot start. He can get around 30 catches for 400 yards and a few scores.

Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Dawson Knox (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury this weekend and will be out of action for at least a little while. Knox, a third round pick out of Ole Miss this year, began earning some buzz as a potential starting tight end option for the team after they lost Tyler Kroft to a broken foot. Fellow tight end Jason Croom also has a hamstring injury, leaving blocking specialist Lee Smith and rookie seventh round pick Tommy Sweeney as the team's only currently healthy tight ends.

Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Dawson Knox showed some promising potential at spring practices and could be in line for some serious playing time to open the season. Knox was a third round pick by the Bills out of Ole Miss. His path towards playing time this year became a lot more clear when Tyler Kroft broke his foot in May. Knox caught just 15 passes his junior year at Ole Miss in 2018, but averaged an impressive 18.9 yards-per-catch. Kroft opened camp on the PUP list and will likely miss time to start the season. Knox, meanwhile, will be competing with Jason Croom, Lee Smith and fellow rookie Tommy Sweeney for the top tight end spot on the team.

Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Dawson Knox, a third-round pick, impressed with his speed and athleticism in rookie workouts and organized team activities. Knox will mainly be competing with Tyler Kroft and Lee Smith at the tight end position in training camp this summer. He has a decent shot at seeing valuable snaps in his rookie season. However, rookie tight ends usually have a steep learning curve and he'll be taking passes from second-year quarterback Josh Allen. Knox could eventually develop into a solid pass-catching tight end, but we wouldn't bet on him in redraft leagues.
