Miami Dolphins QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen shared snaps with the starting offense in practice Thursday, Sept. 19. Head coach Brian Flores says Fitzpatrick remains the team's starter 'right now.'

Fantasy Spin: Given the disaster in South Beach, neither is fantasy option outside of deep two-QB leagues and even then they're almost unusable as Rosen has come in for the starter Fitzpatrick in each of Miami's first two games.

Sep 16 3:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start for Week 3 versus the Dallas Cowboys, although head coach Brian Flores made it clear to the media Monday, Sept. 16, that the team is 'evaluating all positions.'

Fantasy Spin: Nothing much to see here. The Dolphins have been horrendous thus far, averaging five points and 192 yards of offense. It doesn't seem like it will take much longer before Miami pulls the plug here, but the question is whether Josh Rosen will be given much of a chance to prove himself behind the same poor offensive line. Pretty much any Dolphin player is not worth using in fantasy at the moment.

Sep 16 2:50pm ET

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick remains the team's starter heading into Week 3 against the Cowboys, according to head coach Brian Flores. There has been zero Fitzmagic in Miami in two games to begin the 2019 season, and the 36-year-old veteran was 11-for-21 for 89 yards and three interceptions, including two pick-sixes, in the 43-0 beatdown by the Patriots in Week 2. Fitzpatrick was benched for backup Josh Rosen for the second straight week in the fourth quarter, and he has completed half of his 50 attempts for one touchdown and four picks through two games. Fitzpatrick shouldn't even be a consideration in fantasy going up against an improved Dallas defense this weekend. It probably won't be long before Rosen is starting games for this rebuilding franchise.

The mercy rule was finally invoked for Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick after he threw his second pick-six to put Miami down 37-0 to the visiting New England Patriots. The Dolphins offense was again completely impotent with Fitzpatrick under center, totaling only 28 yards in their first eight drives. And while their next two drives doubled up that production with 55 total yards, they both also ended with Fitzpatrick passes being returned for touchdowns by the Patriots. Even if Fitzpatrick manages to keep his starting job for Week 3 against Dallas, he will remain unviable in all fantasy formats.

Sep 14 5:20pm ET

Coming off an uninspiring performance in Week 1, the future doesn't look much brighter for Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in a Week 2 home matchup with the New England Patriots. Fitzpatrick completed 14-for-29 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his first start for the Dolphins but most of the damage came after the game was already out of hand, with the Dolphins ultimately losing 59-10 at home to the Ravens. Surrounded by few offensive weapons and protected by a shaky offensive line, Fitzpatrick is only worth a desperation start in leagues starting more than one quarterback.

Sep 13 2:50pm ET

The Miami Dolphins placed offensive tackle Julie'n Davenport (knee, leg) on Injured Reserve on Friday, but he's a candidate to return later this season. Davenport came over to Miami in the trade that sent Laremy Tunsil to the Texans, and he started at right tackle in the Week 1 blowout loss to the Ravens. It's more bad news for a Miami team that already looks like the worst team in the NFL by a long shot. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and the offense have very little upside going into a Week 2 matchup with the Patriots. It's David against Goliath at its finest. New England's defense/special teams should be started everywhere.

Sep 12 10:10pm ET

The Miami Dolphins are considering placing offensive tackle Julie'n Davenport (knee) on the Injured Reserve. However, there's still a chance that Davenport could come back this year if he goes on IR. It would just be more bad news for an offensive line that already traded their best talent, Laremy Tunsil, to the Texans. Miami's offense is already one of the most inspiring in the league with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick running the show, so this certainly wouldn't help. It probably won't be long before the 'Phins go to backup Josh Rosen in a rebuilding year.

Sep 8 4:50pm ET

Even after getting pulled in the second half of a 59-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will keep his job for at least one more week, according to Miami head coach Brian Flores. Fitzpatrick was uninspiring in his debut for Miami, going 14-for-29 for 185 yards, a touchdown and an interception before being pulled at the end of the third quarter with the Dolphins down 52-10. Unable to move the offense at all, most of Fitzpatrick's yards came with the game already out of hand, as the Ravens were already up 42-3 midway through the second quarter. Fitzpatrick may still be the starter in Week 2 against the Patriots but he's currently not viable in any fantasy format.

Sep 8 3:40pm ET

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was pulled in the second half of the Week 1 game against the Ravens after going 14-for-29 for 185 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Josh Rosen will take over the rest of the way in the blowout, with the Ravens up 52-10 in the fourth quarter. Fitz entered the regular season as the starter but didn't even make it through a full game. It remains to be seen if the Dolphins staff will consider him an option to start in Week 2, but the Dolphins are better off seeing what they can get from a younger Rosen in a rebuilding year. With not much in the passing game, Rosen won't be much of a QB2 if he starts next week over Fitzpatrick.

From RotoBaller

Aug 30 2:20pm ET

The Miami Dolphins have officially named quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick the Week 1 starter against the Ravens. Fitzpatrick underwhelmed in limited preseason action, but the rebuilding 'Phins are still electing to go with him under the younger Josh Rosen. Even in two-QB leagues, Fitzpatrick isn't a recommended option, and he'll have his hands full against a strong Baltimore defense in the season opener. Fitzmagic might have his moments, but he has very little upside and will be on a short leash in 2019. We'd bet that Rosen makes more starts this year when all is said and done.

From RotoBaller

Aug 29 11:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, according to head coach Brian Flores.

Fantasy Spin: Fitzpatrick will deliver the occasional big game, but he is not the long-term solution under center for the Dolphins or for fantasy owners.

From TheHuddle

Aug 29 10:00pm ET

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to be the starter for the team's Week 1 contest against the Ravens. While the Dolphins offense is one of the worst in the NFL, if Fitzpatrick is at the helm, expect the team to air the ball out. Wide receivers Kenny Stills, Albert Wilsonand Devante Parker could all benefit fantasy-wise from the gunslinger's arm. Unfortunately, their floor remains extremely volatile, as Fitzpatrick's production varies from week to week. Miami's receivers will be boom or bust on a week-to-week basis, especially Stills and Parker. Wilson is probably the safest of the trio in PPR leagues.

From RotoBaller

Aug 29 7:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick appears to be the leading candidate for the starting quarterback job, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Cameron Wolfe.

Fantasy Spin: Fitzpatrick has played well at times over the last few seasons, but he may not keep the job the entire season. Fantasy players probably should avoid Fitzpatrick in all leagues.

From TheHuddle

Aug 28 4:40pm ET

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (illness) is dealing with an illness and may not play in the team's final preseason game. Head coach Brian Flores said the team has a good evaluation of Fitzpatrick, and the final preseason game wouldn't affect that much. Fitzpatrick and quarterback Josh Rosen have been neck and neck for the starting quarterback job, and neither has done much for separation. This could be a golden opportunity for Rosen to change that. Neither player is worth fantasy consideration, but Rosen still has some dynasty appeal.

From RotoBaller

Aug 25 3:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen have been competing for the starting job during the preseason, and head coach Brian Flores said he is still not ready to name a starter at the position. Flores indicated both quarterbacks may play in the final preseason game.

Fantasy Spin: Both Fitzpatrick and Rosen have had their moments during training camp, but neither player has been the clear favorite for the job. Fitzpatrick probably would be the more valuable fantasy option, but fantasy players should avoid both quarterbacks.

From TheHuddle

Aug 22 10:40pm ET

Coming back out for the second half after struggling terribly in the first, Miami quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw his first touchdown of the season Thursday night against a Jaguars defense mostly bereft of starters. The presumed favorite for the starting job over Josh Rosen, Fitzpatrick may have looked impressive in his touchdown drive, going 7-7 for 83 yards and a touchdown but the offense was totally anemic in the first half, running only nine plays in their first three drives with negative-one yards of offense. Even if named the eventual starter, Fitzpatrick won't be of much use in single-quarterback leagues barring sudden resurgence in his ability to get throw the ball down the field.

From RotoBaller

Aug 19 8:50pm ET

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said that quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick should start the third preseason game, and the head coach has continually praised Fitzpatrick's leadership, intelligence, decision-making and work in meetings. Josh Rosen has been chided for his body language, holding the ball too long and getting the team in and out of the huddle. Rosen has seen his moments in the preseason and should start some games in 2019, but it's looking like the veteran Fitz might get the first crack in Week 1. On this rebuilding team, neither Fitzpatrick nor Rosen should be seen as an attractive QB2.

From RotoBaller

Aug 19 12:43pm ET

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is not cemented as the team's starter, despite him starting the third preseason game, according to head coach Brian Flores.

Fantasy Spin: There is a lot of depth in the low-end QB1/high-end QB2 stages this season, and Fitzpatrick probably doesn't have a spot on many rosters. That said, Josh Rosen is only a dynasty-league option.

From TheHuddle

Aug 17 1:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick likely will be the starting quarterback for the third preseason game, according to head coach Brian Flores.

Fantasy Spin: The Dolphins probably will decide after the third preseason game if Fitzpatrick or Josh Rosen will be the starting quarterback for Week 1. Fitzpatrick has had some success in the past, but fantasy players probably should avoid the Miami quarterback situation during drafts.

From TheHuddle

Aug 13 1:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick could start a second straight preseason game Friday, Aug. 16, when the Dolphins visit the Buccaneers, head coach Brian Flores said Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Fantasy Spin: The 36-year-old Fitz remains ahead in the Fins' QB derby, but that's really only notable for fantasy in extra large or two-QB leagues.
