The New York Giants released wide receivers Bennie Fowler and T.J. Jones on Tuesday in order to make room for wide receiver Golden Tate on the active roster. Linebacker Josiah Tauaefa was also signed off the practice squad. Tate will be active for the first time this year in Week 5 against the Vikings after serving his four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. The G-Men will move forward with Sterling Shepard, Tate, Cody Latimer and rookie Darius Slayton as their top four wideouts.

After being re-signed just before last week's game, New York Giants wide receiver T.J. Jones found himself thrust into the lineup and hauling in a touchdown pass. With Cody Latimer (concussion) not practicing and Sterling Shepard (concussion) still not cleared to play, Jones could have sneaky fantasy value in Week 3. He had established a good rapport with new starting quarterback Daniel Jones in the preseason and has the big-play ability to take advantage of the Bucs defense. Keep an eye on Shepard's status, but if he's unable to go, Jones could be a good option in deep leagues and a great low-cost play in DFS lineups.

New York Giants wide receiver T.J. Jones made a good impression after being signed earlier this week. With Sterling Shepard inactive due to a concussion and starting wide receiver Cody Latimer leaving the game early with a concussion of his own, Jones was forced into the lineup and delivered three catches for 38 yards and a beautiful toe-tapping TD catch in the second half. Jones had a strong preseason and could emerge as an effective deep-league wide receiver in this shallow Giants receiving corps. If Latimer can't go next week, Jones could be a sneaky DFS option.

The New York Giants brought back wide receiver T.J. Jones, who was one of the final cuts at the end of the preseason. While the addition of Jones himself isn't noteworthy for fantasy purposes, his presence might be a sign that the Giants don't expect Sterling Shepard to clear the concussion protocol before Sunday's game. Keep a close eye on this as the week goes on, but if you have a receiver playing on Thursday who you're debating starting over Shepard, it might be smart to go with the sure thing.
