Pittsburgh Steelers OG Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) and TE MyCole Pruitt (knee) did not practice on Friday, Sept. 20, and have been ruled out for Week 3. Also, QB Russell Wilson (calf) and OT Troy Fautanu (knee) were limited and are questionable, and WR Roman Wilson (ankle), RB Najee Harris (rest), LB T.J. Watt (rest), DL Larry Ogunjobi (rest) and DL Cameron Heyward (rest) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) remained a limited participant in Thursday's practice, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS. Jones further noted that Justin Fields remains in line to start on Sunday when the Steelers face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. Wilson was initially named the team's starting QB back in training camp but suffered from calf tightness in the first week of September, pushing Fields to the top of the depth chart. While the Steelers have won the first two games with Fields leading the offense, he has averaged just 136.5 passing yards and 42 yards on the ground. Fields remains a high-end QB2, given his rushing upside this weekend, if he gets the starting nod.

Sep 19 3:13pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson (calf) told reporters on Thursday, Sept. 19, that he is 'definitely gaining ground' and was able to do more in practice than he has recently.

Fantasy Spin: Justin Fields is likely locked in as the starting quarterback in Week 3 versus the Los Angeles Chargers, but it is anyone's guess how this thing will play out once Wilson is fully healed. On one hand, Pittsburgh might have a hard time benching the quarterback who led the team to a 2-0 start (Justin Fields). On the other hand, Wilson appeared to be the clear QB1 for the short time he was healthy during the preseason. If Wilson gets the nod beginning next week, he will likely be no better than a middling fantasy QB2.

Sep 18 5:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) was limited in Wednesday's practice. After signing Wilson this offseason, all indications were that he would be Pittsburgh's Week 1 starter, despite the team's decision to trade for Justin Fields. However, Wilson has been sidelined to start the season with a calf injury and has yet to make his Steelers debut. The Steelers have already announced that Fields will start in the Week 3 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Still, they remain committed to evaluating the quarterback situation on a week-to-week basis. Fields remains a fringe fantasy starter, even with Wilson seemingly nearing a return.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Spin: The Steelers are not rushing Wilson back from his injury because Justin Fields has won the first two games of the season. Wilson should be avoided until he takes over as the starting quarterback.

From TheHuddle

Sep 17 7:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) isn't expected to fully participate in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 18, head coach Mike Tomlin said.

From TheHuddle

Sep 15 3:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) is officially inactive for Week 2, as expected. He has been designated as the Steelers' emergency third quarterback, which means he could enter the game if both Justin Fields and Kyle Allen suffer injuries and can't return. Fields is on track to make his second consecutive start, and if Pittsburgh starts 2-0, they could continue to ride the hot hand regardless of whether Wilson is healthy in Week 3.

From RotoBaller

Sep 15 3:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) has been declared inactive for the Week 2 game but will be the team's emergency third quarterback.

Fantasy Spin: Justin Fields will receive another start and was able to post decent numbers in the season opener. He can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 15 3:03pm ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared WR Roman Wilson, QB Russell Wilson, S Jalen Elliott, DE Dean Lowry, SS Terrell Edmunds and OG Isaac Seumalo inactive for Week 2.

From TheHuddle

Sep 15 11:33am ET

There is a possibility that Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields could remain as the team's starting quarterback even after QB Russell Wilson (calf) has fully recovered from his aggravated calf injury, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Spin: Head coach Mike Tomlin could stick with the hot hand if the Steelers keep winning and if Fields continues to execute the team's game plan while limiting turnovers. For now, Fields should only be used as a starting lineup option in two-quarterback fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 13 5:53pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields is expected to start the next two games as QB Russell Wilson (calf) continues to recover from calf tightness, per sources on Friday, Sept. 13.

Fantasy Spin: Fields posted pedestrian production in Week 1, with 156 passing yards, 57 rushing yards and no touchdowns. Until we see a fantasy-worthy performance out of him, Fields isn't a suggested starter.

From TheHuddle

Sep 13 4:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 13, and is listed as questionable for Week 2.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson is not expected to start this week, but it is not known if he is healthy enough to serve as the backup quarterback. Justin Fields likely will be the starting quarterback against the Denver Broncos and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues in part because of his running ability.

From TheHuddle

Sep 13 2:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) is listed as questionable for Week 2 versus the Denver Broncos, but PennLive's Nick Farabaugh suggests that the starting quarterback will likely be Justin Fields again.

Fantasy Spin: We will find out Wilson's practice status for Friday in the next hour or two, but he has been limited for most of the last two weeks. The Steelers relied heavily on their defense and running game in a Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons and will likely do the same versus the Broncos regardless if Wilson or Fields is the starter. Fields' athleticism gives him a chance to be a low-end QB1 in such a scenario, while Wilson's upside is as a low-end QB2.

From TheHuddle

Sep 13 1:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that he will list quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) as questionable for the Week 2 game in Denver against the Broncos. Wilson has been practicing on a limited basis this week, but all signs are pointing to him missing a second straight game to begin his tenure in Pittsburgh after aggravating a calf injury that he dealt with in training camp this summer. Tomlin admitted earlier this week that the team was preparing Justin Fields to start against the Broncos. However, there is a belief that the 35-year-old Wilson will be given the starting job back once he's fully cleared to play in games again, which could come as soon as Week 3 at home against the Los Angeles Chargers. We'll know for sure on Sunday morning, but all signs point to Fields starting. The former Chicago Bears QB profiles as a low-end QB2 for fantasy managers.

From RotoBaller

Sep 12 6:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) was limited in practice for the second straight day with a calf injury that kept him out of the season-opening win against the Atlanta Falcons. Justin Fields got the start in Week 1, and with Wilson still nursing his calf injury, the Steelers continue to prepare as if Fields will start in Week 2 on the road against the Denver Broncos. For what it's worth, the 35-year-old Wilson says he's "getting closer and closer" to playing, but it looks like he'll sit out a second straight week as the team plays it cautious with him. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that even though Fields is expected to start in Week 2, the belief is that Wilson will get the starting job once he returns from his calf injury. The Steelers think Wilson's command of the offense is stronger, and it seems as though only an explosive performance from Fields would change that plan.

From RotoBaller

Sep 12 5:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson is expected to miss his second straight game because of the injury, but fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation to see if anything changes. Justin Fields is in line to start and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 12 3:53pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) said he believes he is close to returning to the lineup but said he will be smart with the injury.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson appears to be at least a week away from being cleared to play, so Justin Fields is on track for at least one more start. There is a chance that Wilson will take over the starting job when healthy but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback. Fields can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues if he starts.

From TheHuddle

Sep 11 8:00pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf), who didn't play in the season-opening win over the Atlanta Falcons, opened the week on the injury report and was limited on Wednesday. "He feels better (Tuesday) than he did over the weekend," said head coach Mike Tomlin of Wilson. "But as I sit here Tuesday, we're preparing as if Justin is going to be our quarterback. I think that's the appropriate way to do it. Speculation is a waste of time." Fields didn't do anything to wow and didn't even lead the offense to a single touchdown, but he didn't turn the ball over, which is most important. For now, Wilson is day-to-day, but things are trending toward Fields getting a second straight start in Denver in Week 2 against the Broncos. Until he can get back on the field, the 35-year-old Wilson is only worth stashing in superflex fantasy leagues.

From RotoBaller

Sep 11 6:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson has not been ruled out for Week 2, but head coach Mike Tomlin said the team is preparing as if Justin Fields will start this week. Fantasy players will know more about the quarterback situation later in the week. Fields could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues if he receives another start.
