San Francisco 49ers defensive end Arik Armstead, who leads the team with 10 sacks this year, walked off the practice field on Thursday with an undisclosed injury. Armstead's 10 sacks in 2019 are more than his combined total (9.5) in his previous four seasons. The Niners pass rush has been a strength of their defense all year, but they've had key injuries in recent weeks, although Dee Ford (hamstring) is on track to return after missing two games. Armstead has played 73 percent of the defense's snaps this year on the edge and inside. Solomon Thomas would likely replace Armstead if needed. Drew Brees and the Saints offense would receive a boost if Armstead cannot play.

Nov 29 11:10am ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw for 184 yards and a touchdown in a Thanksgiving victory over the Atlanta Falcons. It was the worst game of the year for the 40-year-old, as he posted season-lows in yards, yards per attempt, touchdowns, and completion percentage. The Saints didn't need a big game from Brees to beat Atlanta with the way their defense played. Still, fantasy owners would have expected more points from him given his accuracy this year- even on only 30 pass attempts. It didn't help that Jared Cook dropped a sure touchdown in the end zone. Brees will get his toughest test of the season next week against the San Francisco 49ers, the league's best pass defense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 12:23am ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 18 of 30 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Fantasy Spin: Thursday night marked the first time this season that Brees has passed for less than 200 yards, other than the game he injured his thumb, though his receivers did him few favors with drops from Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook on a likely TD. Expect him to have his hands full next Sunday when the 49ers come calling.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 4:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will take on the Atlanta Falcons in a Week 13 Thanksgiving matchup. The 40-year-old put up a dud in his first game against Atlanta back in Week 10, failing to throw any touchdown passes. After a brief midseason turnaround, the Falcons Defense allowed Jameis Winston to throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns against them. Brees is coming off one of those games himself and should be able to repeat those numbers against Atlanta, a defense that still ranks 27th against the pass. The only concern is game script, as New Orleans could jump out to a lead and then lean on Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray in the second half. Brees will likely do enough to be a good QB1 this week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 10:23pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 30 of his 39 passes for 311 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in a 34-31 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: Brees has now thrown three touchdowns in three of his four games since returning from injury, and he has wasted no time becoming a weekly QB1 option once again.

From TheHuddle

Nov 24 5:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees completed 30 of 39 passes for 311 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. The 40-year-old made quick, precise decisions en route to a 76.9 completion percentage and a healthy eight yards per attempt. The highlight of the day for Brees was a beautiful, 20-yard dime to tight end Jared Cook in the end zone. Brees then capped it off by leading his 50th game-winning drive. It was the third game this year that Brees threw at least three touchdowns and the second with at least 300 passing yards. The veteran quarterback will look to stay in rhythm in a Thanksgiving showdown against an Atlanta Falcons Defense that just gave up 311 yards and three touchdowns to Jameis Winston.

From RotoBaller

Nov 22 1:10pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will take on the Carolina Panthers at home in Week 12. The 40-year-old has attempted at least 35 passes in four starts and has thrown for multiple touchdown passes in three games this year. The Panthers have a strong pass defense ranked 13th in the NFL and have 39 sacks, tied for first in the league. The Saints may go run-heavy in this game, considering Carolina has given up the seventh-most rushing yards in the NFL. Still, it's hard to bet against Brees in the Superdome. The Panthers may not have an answer for Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas, allowing Brees to do just enough. Brees is a QB1 this week, though he'll likely be a low-end option.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 7:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was excellent in his team's Week 11 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brees rebounded well from a Week 10 dud by completing 28 of 35 passes for 228 yards and three touchdowns. The 40-year-old picked apart the Bucs secondary, completing 80 percent of his passes, a season-high. Brees only attempted 35 passes, as the Saints jumped out to a 20-0 lead and didn't need to rely on his arm. Still, Brees is back on track after this performance and will look to repeat it in Week 12 at home against the Carolina Panthers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 5:33pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees went 28-for-35 for 228 yards and three touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11.

Fantasy Spin: Brees has thrown for eight touchdowns in five games this season and has gone back-to-back games without an interception. He will be facing the Carolina Panthers in Week 11 and should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 15 1:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees put up a shocking stinker against the Atlanta Falcons last week. Don't give up on him after this performance, considering his Week 11 opponent, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have been awful against quarterbacks this year. They've allowed the second-most passing yards and the third-most passing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. The 40-year-old signal-caller has averaged 283 passing yards and two touchdowns in 27 career games against Tampa Bay. New Orleans may struggle to run the ball against the Bucs' tough run defense and might have to rely on Brees' arm to win this one. He's certainly up to the task and should rebound nicely this week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 13 8:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl offensive guard Andrus Peat (arm) underwent surgery on Wednesday for a broken arm that he suffered in Week 10, and he's expected to be out for six weeks, according to a source. It's bad news for a Saints offense that surprisingly struggled to protect quarterback Drew Brees against a bad Falcons offense last Sunday. It's a downgrade for Brees and running back Alvin Kamara moving forward, but they should be able to rebound nicely in Week 11 against the Buccaneers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 8:40pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees completed 32 of 45 passes for 287 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. The pass attempts were a season-high, but the 40-year-old averaged a season-low 6.4 yards per attempt. It wasn't Brees' best day accuracy-wise, though getting sacked six times certainly didn't help matters. The Saints also had six drive-killing penalties on offense. New Orleans had reached double-digits in 110 straight home games before their loss to Atlanta. Brees will get a good chance to right the ship against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 32nd-ranked pass defense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 5:03pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees went 32-for-45 for 287 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Brees has been held without a touchdown pass in two of his four games this season but should have more success next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He should be a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues in Week 11.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 9:53pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees faces the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10, and the Falcons have allowed the third most passing touchdowns this season while ranking last in both sacks and takeaways.

Fantasy Spin: Brees torched the Arizona Cardinals in his return from a thumb injury last week, throwing for 373 yards and three scores. He will have plenty of upside again in Week 10 against a struggling Atlanta defense. Brees is a must-start QB1.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 6:53pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (thumb) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Brees did not show any rust in his return to the lineup in Week 8 and is a must-start option this week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 4:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees draws an excellent home matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. In his highly-anticipated return to the field in Week 8, the 40-year-old completed 34 of 43 passes for 373 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. On Sunday, he'll face a struggling Falcons Defense with a full complement of weapons behind him for the first time since Week 2. Atlanta ranks 31st in the league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks this year. Plus, in two starts against the Falcons last year, Brees threw for 567 yards, seven touchdowns and just one interception. The veteran signal-caller is a must-start in Week 10.

From RotoBaller

Nov 8 4:03pm ET

New Orleans Saints CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. OT Terron Armstead (illness) was added to the injury report Friday, Nov. 8, while TE Josh Hill (calf) was limited; both players have been cleared to play. TE Jared Cook (ankle), WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), QB Drew Brees (thumb) and RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 7:43pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (thumb) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Brees has only played three games this season but has thrown for at least 370 yards in two of the games. He is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and is a must-start option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 5:03pm ET

New Orleans Saints CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) and TE Josh Hill (calf) were limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 7. TE Jared Cook (ankle), WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), QB Drew Brees (thumb) and RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Nov 6 9:23pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (thumb) will continue to wear the splint on his thumb for a while, the quarterback said Wednesday, Nov. 6. He had no adverse effects or swelling after his first game back, however.

Fantasy Spin: Brees rolled up 373 passing yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.1 percent of his pass attempts in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals in his first game back since Week 2. The splint didn't affect his performances, so fantasy owners shouldn't worry too much about its presence. He faces a favorable matchups against the defensively-challenged Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.
