Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook had three receptions (eight targets) for 53 yards during the loss to the Saints. Despite accounting for just over a quarter of the passes thrown his way, the day wasn't a complete failure as the 25-year-old led the way for quarterback Gardner Minshew. Though D.J. Chark continues to be the No. 1 receiving option, Westbrook posses flex appeal, especially in deeper formats for those dealing with injuries or looking to get through a bye week.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook caught three passes for 53 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. He was targeted eight times during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook has been targeted at least eight times in three of the last four games but has gone five straight games without a touchdown. He should have a favorable matchup next week and can be at least a flex option in most fantasy leagues.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook had seven receptions for 82 yards during the Week 5 matchup with the Panthers. While he hasn't scored the way D.J. Chark has, he has still served as the No. 2 wide receiver for quarterback Gardner Minshew. The 25-year-old has received his fair share of targets on the year as he hasn't seen less than five in each of the Jags' first five games. While it would be desirable if Westbrook scored a few more touchdowns, the ceiling is there for him in 14-team leagues and up against New Orleans.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook posted seven receptions for 82 yards on 11 targets in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook has jelled nicely with Gardner Minshew, hauling in five or more receptions in three straight outings, although he hasn't found the end zone in four games dating back to Week 1. Westbrook remains more of a low-end WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook caught seven passes for 82 yards in Jacksonville's Week 5 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He tied for the team lead with 11 targets. Westbrook's lost his grip on Jacksonville's top receiver role with the emergence of D.J. Chark, which has limited his production this season. He's still a solid WR3 option in PPR leagues, but it's also clear that Chark's the guy who'll be getting the end zone targets in this offense.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook is trending up, but in Week 5 he faces a Carolina Panthers Defense that has been good against the pass this year and has allowed just two receiving touchdowns to wide receivers. Westbrook's lower-than-expected volume this season and the emergence of D.J. Chark have cut into his production, and he's a low-end WR5 this week in PPR leagues and off my radar in standard scoring leagues.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook caught five of his six targets for 66 yards in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook entered the season as a sleeper WR3 pick for fantasy purposes, but he has taken a backseat to D.J. Chark since Gardner Minshew took over for Nick Foles. Westbrook has still recorded five receptions in all but one game, so it's not as if he's being ignored. He'll have some low-end WR3/flex appeal in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook caught five passes for 66 yards in Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos. It was the third time this year that Westbrook had five receptions and was also a season high in receiving yards. Westbrook's been an inconsistent player this year, but Sunday was a reminder of what he's supposed to be doing in this Jaguars offense. Expect more games like this moving forward.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook hasn't been much of a factor this season outside of a Week 1 touchdown reception. That's unlikely to change as the Jaguars face a tough Broncos Defense in Week 4 that's allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. Westbrook was expected to be a strong PPR option this year, but quarterback Gardner Minshew is spreading the ball out to other options, and Westbrook is seeing too many of his targets come in short yardage situations. Westbrook could wind up having a solid day in PPR leagues, but he's just as likely to post another disappointing line. Start him at your own risk.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook is tied for the team lead with 20 targets but has posted only 79 yards in three games. He probably should stay on the bench until he is more productive in the passing game.
Jacksonville Jaguars LB D.J. Alexander (hamstring) and TE Josh Oliver (hamstring) did not practice Friday, Sept. 27, and have been ruled out for Week 4 versus the Denver Broncos. CB Jalen Ramsey (personal, back) did not practice all week and is listed as questionable. DE Yannick Ngakoue (groin) was limited in practice Friday but removed from the injury report. WR Chris Conley (knee), LB Myles Jack (concussion), LB Quincy Williams (illness), WR Dede Westbrook (non-injury), DT Marcell Dareus (non-injury), DE Lerentee McCray (hamstring), OL Brandon Linder (non-injury), DL Calais Campbell (non-injury) and WR Marqise Lee (non-injury) participated fully in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 26.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook has caught only 11 of his 20 targets this season and has posted 79 yards in three games. He is still receiving consistent targets during games but may not be a great fantasy option.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (non-injury) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook has started the season off slowly with only 79 yards over the first three games. He has been targeted 20 times during that span and will continue to have a solid role in the passing game but may not be a starting fantasy option.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook caught five of his nine targets in Week 3, finishing with 46 yards while also adding four rushing yards. This was Westbrook's highest yardage total of the year, and while he found the end zone in Week 1, it's still been a tough start to the season for the promising wideout. His value in standard scoring leagues is virtually nonexistent right now, though his target share does give him upside still in PPR. It's not quite time to panic and drop Westbrook, but fantasy owners should be concerned by his usage.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook caught five passes for 46 yards on nine targets Thursday, Sept. 19, against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.
Fantasy Spin: Despite leading the offense in targets, Westbrook was relatively quiet and watched DJ Chark score yet another touchdown. The Denver Broncos host Jacksonville in Week 4, where Westbrook has a flex valuation in PPR.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook has had a rough start to the year. If you remove a 15-yard Week 1 touchdown from the equation, Westbrook's other plays look like this: 10 targets, five receptions, 16 yards. Quarterback Gardner Minshew isn't delivering the ball deep to Westbrook and is spreading out his targets among the team's two other starting receivers, which is severely restricting Westbrook's value. Factor in that Thursday's opponent, the Tennessee Titans, have allowed the 10th-fewest PPR points to opposing receivers this year and things start to look rough again. Westbrook should be on the bench in shallower leagues and should probably be on your bench in 12-plus team leagues as well.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook caught just one of his five targets in Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans, finishing with just three yards. It was the second disappointing game in a row for Westbrook, though this one makes Week 1's 30 yard performance look good. Westbrook and rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew just aren't hooking up yet. There's definitely reason to worry about Westbrook, especially in standard scoring leagues, where his low yardage becomes a bigger issue.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook had just five catches for 30 yards in Week 1, with 16 of those yards coming after the catch. There are reasons to be concerned about Westbrook's role with rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew starting for the Jaguars, but he should still be a solid PPR play this week. Westbrook is going to lead the team in targets this season and has the skill to make moves after the catch, so he should outperform that 30-yard mark from Week 1. Fantasy owners in standard scoring leagues should be concerned about Westbrook right now, but volume keeps him in play as a startable PPR receiver.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook caught five passes for 30 yards and one touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. He was targeted six times during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook did not have a long catch but was a reliable target for the Jaguars in Week 1. He should receive a similar workload next week and could be a flex option in some leagues.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook had a relatively quiet day in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Chiefs, though he did find the end zone on a 15-yard fourth quarter pass from quarterback Gardner Minshew. Westbrook finished with five catches for 30 yards and was targeted six times. Westbrook was a popular mid-round pick this year, but quarterback Nick Foles' collarbone injury could put a dent in those plans. Westbrook should see plenty of short-yardage targets and should be startable in PPR leagues, but he may wind up as a touchdown-dependent option in standard scoring.
