Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen recorded his fourth straight win on Sunday against Tampa Bay in London. While Jameis Winston recorded five interceptions on the day, Allen was able to get it done by finishing with 227 yards and two touchdowns on 20-for-32 passing. With the Panthers heading into a bye, things will get interesting for the Panthers if Cam Newton (foot) can return for the Week 8 matchup with San Francisco. Fantasy managers will want to monitor the situation, but Allen should remain on rosters until Newton is officially back in the mix as a starter.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen could be making his final start of the season in London against Tampa Bay. With Cam Newton (foot) potentially returning after the team's Week 7 bye, the 23-year-old could have one more shot to put up some efficient numbers before returning to a reserve role. In normal circumstances, Allen has a favorable matchup against a Buccaneers Defense that has allowed a league-worst 323.6 passing yards this season. However, things may not be as easy if Christian McCaffrey (back) is unable to play in Week 6, making Allen's spot as a fantasy starter mostly contingent on the star running back's availability on Sunday.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen went 17-for-30 for 181 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars on Sunday. With the Panthers doing most of the work on the ground, Allen threw his lone score late in the first quarter off of an 18-yard touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey. While the 23-year-old didn't do a lot from a fantasy standpoint, he didn't hurt his case to remain the team's starter when Cam Newton (foot) is able to return. Throwing for five touchdowns with no interceptions over three games in Newton's absence, Allen will look to stay on track in Week 6 against the Buccaneers in London.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen may post better numbers in Week 5 against Jacksonville. Though the Jaguars Defense has done well at stopping the run, it has allowed 286 yards per game through the air this season. While it would be easy to blame the Jags statistical woes in this area on Patrick Mahomes' stellar Week 1 performance, Jacksonville allowed both Marcus Mariota and Joe Flacco to each record 300-plus-yard performances over the last two weeks. As a result, fantasy managers may want to keep Allen starting as he looks to guide Carolina to its third-straight win.
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said that he expects quarterback Kyle Allen to start in Week 5 against the Jaguars. There is still no timetable for Cam Newton (foo) to return. In a good matchup with Houston's vulnerable secondary, Allen wasn't very impressive, going 24-for-34 (70.6 percent) with no touchdowns or interceptions. He also fumbled three times. Allen and the Panthers will face a more difficult test in Week 5 against Jacksonville, especially if shutdown cornerback Jalen Ramsey (back, illness) returns to action. Allen will be a low-end QB2 option for that matchup. Those that own Newton must remain patient and keep him stashed, but you obviously need to have a long-term plan at the position in case he misses the rest of the season.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen played in Houston in college, with his last start for the University of Houston ending in him getting benched. On Sunday, he returned to the city as the starting quarterback for the Panthers, throwing for 232 yards on 24-for-34 passing. He didn't throw for a touchdown and lost three fumbles, but he looked solid at times and the Panthers emerged with the win. Overall, it was a positive day for Allen even with the fumble issues. He's looking like a low-end QB2, which is more than was initially expected from him.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen was the talk of the town after his splendid Week 3 performance. Last Sunday, the sophomore put on a show against the Arizona Cardinals, finishing with 261 yards and four touchdowns on 19-for-26 passing. While fantasy managers would be taking a gamble by starting the 23-year-old, the Texans have given up 21.75 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season. If you need a signal-caller or looking to save some cash in DFS lineups, Allen is just as good of an option as any in Week 4.
Panthers' QB Kyle Allen scored 28.05 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 3 win in Arizona. Allen threw for 261 yards on 19-of-26 with four touchdowns.
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel may have to play without quarterback Cam Newton (foot) against the Cardinals. With the veteran signal-caller still without a touchdown toss on the year, Samuel may actually benefit without Newton in the lineup in Week 3. Throughout two starts in 2018, Kyle Allen, who is projected to take over if Newton isn't available, made Samuel a priority during his time under center as he led the team in looks while finishing with nine receptions (17 targets) for 113 yards and a score. As a result, Samuel should be on the minds of fantasy managers as his outlook is favorable against a weak Cardinals Defense on Sunday despite having an inexperienced quarterback.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen is trending toward starting over Cam Newton (foot) in Week 3 against the Cardinals. Newton aggravated a foot injury he initially suffered in the preseason and missed practice on Wednesday. He was also seen in a walking boot, so it's looking doubtful that he plays this Sunday in Week 3. If Newton is inactive, it'll be a downgrade to all Panthers receivers, while running back Christian McCaffrey will likely be heavily utilized to take pressure off Allen. Even in a good matchup with Arizona's soft secondary, Allen would be a last-gasp QB2 for fantasy purposes.
