Player Notes
Feb 14 10:53pm ET

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has averaged 8.2 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 102.3 with WR Amari Cooper on the field compared to averages of 7.0 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 89.5 with Cooper off the field.

Fantasy Spin: The Cowboys still need to work out contracts with Prescott and Cooper, but both players are expected to be back, either on long-term deals or via the franchise and transition tags. Assuming the duo stays put, Prescott will enter 2020 as a midrange QB1 while Cooper will be a WR1 candidate.

Feb 6 12:43pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper, a pending free agent, could wind up with the Philadelphia Eagles if he isn't re-signed by the Cowboys, in the opinion of NFL Network analyst David Carr.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper finished as fantasy's No. 7 wideout last season and has ranked among the league's elite since arriving in Dallas via trade midway through the 2018 season. That said, it's tough to imagine the Cowboys failing to retain Cooper, but Jerry Jones & Co. have a number of other financial decisions to make as well, including a potential new contract for QB Dak Prescott, so this situation definitely bears watching.

From TheHuddle

Jan 26 6:13pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper finished with three grabs for 24 yards and a touchdown on seven targets for the NFC at the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 26.

From TheHuddle

Jan 23 2:30pm ET

The Dallas Cowboys haven't had contract discussions with wide receiver Amari Cooper, but he said that he wants to be in Dallas for a long time. Cooper will become a free agent in March, but he is the team's No. 2 priority this offseason behind quarterback Dak Prescott. Despite dealing with nagging injuries for most of the season, Cooper had 79 receptions for a career-high 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns over a full season in 2019. It's hard to imagine Dallas letting him walk in free agency, and his fantasy value would remain the highest as a high-end WR1 if he stays with the Cowboys moving forward. If he goes elsewhere, Michael Gallup would become the team's No. 1 wideout.

From RotoBaller

Jan 23 1:23pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper said Thursday, Jan. 23, he hasn't had recent talks with his agent about his expiring contract, but said he wants to remain in Dallas a long time.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper is coming off a career year with 1,189 yards and eight TD catches on 79 receptions, and he's expected to re-up with the Cowboys before he has a chance to hit the open market this March. Regardless, he'll be in the WR1 mix heading into 2020.

From TheHuddle

Jan 9 2:03pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper on Thursday, Jan. 9, was named as a Pro Bowl injury replacement for Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper set career season highs in receiving yards (1,189) and TDs (eight) as he finished seventh among fantasy WRs in standard-scoring formats. He'll remain on the WR1 list heading into drafts this summer.

From TheHuddle

Jan 6 1:00pm ET

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with former Packers coach Mike McCarthy to be their next head coach on Monday. Dallas finally fired Jason Garrett on Sunday and chose McCarthy the very next day. McCarthy was 125-77-2 in 13 years as the head man in Green Bay and won a Super Bowl. He had also interviewed with the Browns, Giants and Panthers. He brings plenty of experience to the table in Dallas and will have take over a roster ready to win right now. It'll be interesting to see how the Cowboys approach long-term deals with both quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper, but the Cowboys should be in contention to win the NFC East in 2020.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 8:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four passes in Week 17, gaining 92 yards. He ended up behind Michael Gallup for yards, catches, and targets. Accused of "disappearing" at times this season, especially in the moments when he was most needed, Cooper should still enter next season as the top wide receiver on the depth chart. He definitely has competition from Michael Gallup, though.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 7:53pm ET

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 23-of-33 passes for 303 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Washington Redskins, but the Cowboys were eliminated from the playoffs due to Philadelphia's victory over the New York Giants. RB Ezekiel Elliott ran 18 times for 122 yards and a touchdown, while RB Tony Pollard rushed 14 times for 60 yards. WR Michael Gallup posted five grabs for 98 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, while WR Amari Cooper finished with four grabs for 92 yards. WR Randall Cobb ended up with five catches for 81 yards, and TE Jason Witten wound up with four receptions for 24 yards.

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 9:43pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper said he loves playing with QB Dak Prescott and wants to remain with the team going forward. 'That is part of me liking it,' Cooper said. 'My situation on the team, him being the quarterback, the teammates, where I live. Everything.'

Fantasy Spin: Cooper has sputtered a bit down the stretch, failing to reach 40 yards in four of the last six games. Still, he has a golden opportunity to end the regular season on a high note when he faces Washington in Week 17, and assuming he remains with Dallas in 2020, he has proven he can be a WR2 with WR1 upside

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 8:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper, who will be a free agent after the season, said he wants to remain with the Cowboys. Cooper could receive the franchise tag in the offseason, but Week 17 against the Redskins could also be his last game with the team if the Eagles beat the Giants. The 25-year-old has really disappointed the last two weeks as a WR1 with everything on the line for his fantasy owners, but he's been a very consistent No. 1 receiver for the majority of the season, catching 75 passes for 1,097 yards and eight touchdowns for Dallas. Staying in big D with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott is probably the best thing for his fantasy value. If he were to go elsewhere, Michael Gallup would become this team's No. 1 receiver.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 9:30pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper will look to bounce back from a rough performance in a Week 17 matchup against Washington. Cooper caught just four passes in Week 16, totaling 24 yards despite receiving a dozen targets. Cooper disappeared at the times when he was most needed, leading to the ire of many analysts comfortably sitting at their desks. He'll need a big game in order to keep the Cowboys playoff hopes alive (they need to win and for the Eagles to lose). Cooper is right on the WR1/2 border this week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 11:43pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper caught four of his 12 targets for 24 yards in a 17-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: After topping 100 yards against Philadelphia the first time around, Cooper seemed lost all afternoon. On the plus side, he has a good chance to close out the season on a high note against Washington.

From TheHuddle

Dec 22 8:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper came down with just four catches in a Week 16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Cooper was targeted a team-high 12 times, but was only able to catch the four balls for 24 scoreless yards. It was a hugely disappointing game for Cooper, especially given the target share and the opposing secondary. He spent some time on the sidelines in the second half as well. Cooper will be needed next week in a must-win game for the Cowboys against Washington.

From RotoBaller

Dec 20 11:53pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper faces the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 16, and Cooper has 48 catches for 777 yards and five touchdowns in seven home games this year compared to 23 catches for 296 yards and three touchdowns in seven road contests.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper had five catches for 106 yards against Philadelphia back in Week 7, but that game was in Dallas. His road splits aren't comforting, but you have to start him against the struggling secondary of the Eagles with a division title on the line.

From TheHuddle

Dec 18 11:30am ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper was an enormous disappointment in Week 15 but should be able to rebound and provide solid fantasy value in Week 16. Cooper caught just one pass last week despite the Cowboys offense dominating a suddenly hapless Rams Defense. Traveling to Philadelphia this week for a game that will determine the NFC East champion, Cooper should be much more involved. He's a solid WR1 with a bit of a lower floor than others around his ranking.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 3:33am ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper had one reception for 19 yards during a Week 15 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Spin: It was another disappearing act from Cooper, who has failed to top 40 yards receiving in three of his last five outings. This one had more to do with how the game unfolded, though, as the Rams simply couldn't stop Dallas' ground and pound, which rendered the passing game largely unnecessary. Cooper will be looking for more in Week 16 against an Eagles team he torched for 106 yards back in Week 7.

From TheHuddle

Dec 15 7:50pm ET

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper made just one catch in Week 15, gaining only 19 yards. Cooper was only targeted twice in a game where Dak Prescott attempted only 23 passes. The Dallas offense was able to destroy the Rams with the ground game, so they had little need to air it out. Cooper's hugely disappointing game likely knocked more than a few fantasy teams out of the playoffs.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 7:53pm ET

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (knee) fully participate in practice Friday, Dec. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper has recorded 14 receptions and 168 yards over the last two games and will continue to be the main option in the passing game for the Cowboys. He is a must-start option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 5:33pm ET

Dallas Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch (neck) did not participate in practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams. LB Sean Lee (pectoral, thigh) also did not practice all week, while DE Michael Bennett (foot) did not practice Friday, Dec. 13; both players are listed as questionable. WR Ventell Bryant (knee) did not practice Friday but is expected to play. OT La'el Collins (knee), WR Amari Cooper (knee), S Jeff Heath (shoulder), CB Byron Jones (hip), P Chris Jones (abdomen), OG Zack Martin (elbow, ankle), RB Tony Pollard (ankle), QB Dak Prescott (hand), OT Tyron Smith (Achilles), S Darian Thompson (biceps) and DT Antwaun Woods (knee) participated fully in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
