Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams was Philip Rivers' favorite target on Sunday night, but he was only able to haul in half the throws. Rivers struggled mightily from the pocket, but Williams worked well as an outlet while No. 1 wideout Keenan Allen seemed to be focused on by the defense. Williams finished with 72 yards receiving, and while he didn't find the end zone, he came up just short on multiple occasions. The return of Hunter Henry will only further cut into Williams' targets in most games, but now that teams have seen LA's offense struggle two weeks in a row when Allen was neutralized, Williams may see an uptick as a way to try to counteract how teams scheme for the Chargers.

Oct 14 1:33am ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams was targeted 10 times in Week 6, catching five passes for 72 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Spin: Williams has looked good since returning from injury, topping 70 yards receiving in both games. He still doesn't have a touchdown this season, which is a major disappointment after the 6-foot-4 wideout caught 10 of them in 2018. He remains a quality WR3 option.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 9:10pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is a real hit-or-miss play this week, and there are solid arguments to be made for both sides. Williams could completely bust this week because LA is facing a Steelers Defense that has been very stingy over the last four weeks, and Williams is usually a ways down the chart for Philip Rivers. However, Williams could also be the breakout of the game because Pittsburgh could focus their attention on Keenan Allen, Melvin Gordon, and Austin Ekeler instead. If the Steelers focus on taking away the slot, where they got roasted by LA last time the two faced off, then Williams could make bank on the outside. Bold owners can roll the dice, but for most, the risk is likely too high.

Oct 7 2:40am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams got a boost in his production on Sunday since Keenan Allen was blanketed throughout the day, and he was able to haul in six passes in the loss. Unfortunately, that was less than half the times he was targeted, but it was still good for 74 yards receiving. Williams was the most used wide receiver by far, but both of quarterback Philip Rivers' interceptions came on passes thrown his way as well. Fortunately for Williams, neither were his fault. Williams has certainly shown the ability to get separation and earn the targets, but with the assortment of playmakers available on the Chargers offense, it's unlikely he'll see dependable use from week to week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 2:53pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) is officially active for the team's Week 5 game.

Fantasy Spin: Williams should see a solid amount of targets this week against the Denver Broncos and can be at least a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

From TheHuddle

Oct 6 8:33am ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) is expected to play in Week 5's game versus the Denver Broncos, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Williams was listed as questionable on the injury report after logging two limited practice sessions and one full session during the week. He can be viewed as a viable WR3 option in most fantasy leagues despite the difficult matchup.

From TheHuddle

Oct 6 3:30am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (back) should be good to go against Denver on Sunday. The 25-year-old was dealing with back spasms and was forced to miss the team's Week 4 matchup with the Dolphins. Williams hasn't scored a touchdown yet this season, but he has been getting plenty of looks from quarterback Philip Rivers this year. He could be in line for a decent day against a mediocre Broncos Defense and should be starting in a majority of fantasy leagues in Week 5.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 5:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (back), who is questionable for Week 5 against the Broncos, said that he will play on Sunday. He didn't travel with the team in Week 4 because he wanted his back spasms to calm down, but he had a good week of practice. "Im playing," Williams said. "Im solid." He'll be the No. 2 behind Keenan Allen and should continue to be a priority red-zone target for quarterback Philip Rivers, putting him back on the WR3/4 borderline in fantasy.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 4:33pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 4, but is listed as questionable for Week 5.

Fantasy Spin: Williams likely will be in uniform this week after missing the Week 4 game. He will be facing a solid Denver Broncos defense but can still be a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 4:13pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry (knee) did not participate in practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. S Nasir Adderley (hamstring), PK Mike Badgley (groin) and RB Justin Jackson (calf) also were held out of practice all week and are listed as doubtful. DE Melvin Ingram (hamstring) was upgraded to a limited practice Friday, Oct. 4, while LB Thomas Davis (groin) was limited all week; both players are listed as questionable. WR Travis Benjamin (hip), TE Virgil Green (groin) and WR Mike Williams (back) fully participated in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. CB Casey Hayward (back), P Ty Long (foot), LB Denzel Perryman (neck) and C Mike Pouncey (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 4:10pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Mike Williams (back) and Travis Benjamin (hip) and tight end Virgil Green (groin) all practiced in full on Friday but are questionable for Week 5 against the Broncos. We'd expect all three players to be active after sitting out in Week 4. It's good news for quarterback Philip Rivers, who has been getting by mainly by leaning on running back Austin Ekeler and receiver Keenan Allen. Williams will be a WR4 in fantasy and should see valuable red-zone looks from Rivers. With the Bolts getting healthier in the receiving corps, Benjamin and Green are off the fantasy radar.

From RotoBaller

Oct 3 6:43pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) remained limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Williams is unlikely to be at full health even if he's able to suit up Sunday. The fourth-year pro is yet to find the end zone this season, but he's a prime buy-low candidate from any fantasy managers who may be growing frustrated.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 8:13pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Spin: Williams was not able to play last week but appears to have a solid chance to play in Week 5. He has recorded eight catches and 157 yards in three games and can be considered a No. 3 receiver or flex option if he plays.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 5:10pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said that wide receiver Mike Williams (back) is feeling much better and may do individual work at practice on Wednesday. Tight end Hunter Henry (knee) is improving, and the team will see where he's at later this week. The Los Angeles Times' Jeff Miller reported that Henry was working out on his own on Wednesday for the first time since the season opener. Williams sat out last week but appears to be trending towards a return. If he can suit up, he'll be in play as a WR4/flex. If he misses a second straight game, Geremy Davis will have some deep league and DFS sleeper appeal with Travis Benjamin also hurt and Dontrelle Inman now on Injured Reserve. Henry will miss at least another couple of weeks.

From RotoBaller

Sep 27 3:03pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) has been ruled out for Week 4 versus the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Spin: It would have been a prime spot for Williams to enjoy his first big game the season. With Travis Benjamin (quad) listed as doubtful, the Chargers will likely go with Keenan Allen, Dontrelle Inman and Geremy Davis in three-wide sets. It's shaping up to be another huge game for fantasy owners of Allen. Inman also needs to be considered as a flex option.

From TheHuddle

Sep 27 3:03pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers PK Mike Badgley (groin), TE Virgil Green (groin), TE Hunter Henry (knee), WR Mike Williams and RB Justin Jackson (calf) did not practice Friday, Sept. 27, and have been ruled out for Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. WR Travis Benjamin (hip) did not practice for a third straight day and is listed as doubtful. CB Casey Hayward (back) and LB Drue Tranquill (ankle) returned to a limited practice Friday and are listed as questionable. CB Michael Davis (hamstring), LB Denzel Perryman (ankle) and C Mike Pouncey (not injury related) fully participated in practice and have been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Sep 27 1:53pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) was not spotted during the open portion of practice Friday, Sept. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Williams has yet to miss a game this season, but that run could come to an end with the wideout out of practice all week. Have another flex option at the ready.

From TheHuddle

Sep 26 10:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Mike Williams (back), Travis Benjamin (hip), tight end Virgil Green (groin), kicker Michael Badgley (groin) and cornerback Casey Hayward (back) all missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Everyone on this list is looking questionable, at best, to face off against the Dolphins in Week 4. It would be a shame for Williams to miss this excellent matchup, but he's looking like a shaky WR4/flex at this point. The only way Benjamin would be in play as a flex in deeper leagues is if he's active and Williams sits out. If both sit out, Dontrelle Inman could have some deep sleeper appeal in DFS. Badgley has yet to kick this year and is off the fantasy radar until he proves his health. Dolphins wideout Devante Parker would benefit if Hayward can't play, but he's still tough to recommend for starting lineups in standard-sized leagues.

From RotoBaller

Sep 26 6:33pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (back) didn't practice Thursday, Sept. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Williams has been a fantasy disappointment thus far, but he's a prime buy-low candidate, especially with minor injury concern.

From TheHuddle

Sep 25 8:00pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Mike Williams (back) and Travis Benjamin (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. In addition, kicker Michael Badgley (groin), tight end Virgil Green (groin) and cornerback Casey Hayward (back) all sat out. It'd be a shame if Williams missed a mouth-watering Week 4 matchup with the Dolphins. He'll need to get in a practice later this week to have a shot at being a high-upside WR3 this weekend. If Williams sits and Benjamin plays, he'll be worth a shot as an upside flex play in deeper leagues. If both Williams and Benjamin are inactive this weekend, Dontrelle Inman would see an expanded role behind target-hog Keenan Allen. Badgley has yet to play this season and shouldn't be trusted until he proves his health. Hayward's absence would be good news for Devante Parker, but fantasy owners shouldn't trust any Dolphins receiver unless you're desperate.
