Xavier Legette totally disappointed fantasy players who used him as a lineup plugger in Week 8. The former first-round pick was targeted only three times by Andy Dalton and caught two passes for 17 yards. In a blowout loss to Buffalo, He carried none of last week's momentum over. When Bryce Young was the starter in Week 7, Legette caught. nine passes for 92 yards and a TD. Dalton naturally prioritized Tetairoa McMillan, and Coker had three targets to Legette's two as the backup QB struggled mightily in a 31-point loss. Head coach Dave Canales mentioned that he hopes Young will be back for Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. If Young returns next week, the Panthers could be more statistically productive playing from behind vs. Green Bay. But the recent return of Coker may also prevent Legette from being useful at all. Outside of Week 7, Legette has not caught more than three passes in a game this season. He is a cut candidate for Week 9.
From RotoBaller
Xavier Legette is coming off the best fantasy performance of his career last week against the New York Jets. The second-year wide receiver had nine catches for 92 receiving yards with one touchdown reception. He has experience working with Andy Dalton, catching two touchdowns in a three-game span from him in Weeks 4-6 last year. Fantasy players may be wondering if Legette can build on last week's performance or if it was just an outlier. If Buffalo gains a sizable lead, Legette could potentially boost his numbers as Carolina works from behind. Considering that there are six teams on bye for Week 8, Legette is worth a look as a streaming option, even though he has more to prove. Buffalo's defense ranks 15th in fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the last four weeks, so he is not facing a shutdown pass defense.

Carolina Panthers second-year wide receiver Xavier Legette is coming off the best game of his career, having caught nine passes for 92 yards and a score in a win over the Jets. With Bryce Young leaving the game in the third quarter with a high ankle sprain, three of those catches came from backup Andy Dalton, accounting for 54 yards on a 57% target share. It's obviously not much of a sample size and could have been skewed by the fact that rookie Tetairoa McMillan drew the attention of the Jets' top corner Sauce Gardner, but Legette and Dalton have shown a connection in the past. In an uninspiring waiver week, while six teams are on bye, Legette should be added wherever he's available and can be considered for a flex start against the Bills.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette had the best game of his career in Sunday's 13-6 win over the hosting New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in Week 7, catching nine of his 11 targets for 92 yards and his second touchdown of the year. Legette surprisingly led the team in targets, catches, and yards on a day where quarterback Bryce Young left with an ankle injury and didn't return. The 24-year-old former first-rounder in 2024 only had eight grabs on 20 targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in four games coming into Week 7 action. While Sunday was encouraging for the second-year wideout, fantasy managers in 12-team leagues will want to see more of this from Legette before seriously considering him off the waiver wire. Fellow receiver Jalen Coker made his season debut in this one after recovering from a quad injury, but he didn't have a catch on two target. Coker should be more involved in the game plan moving forward, though, and could challenge Legette for WR2 duties behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette was unable to find much success versus the Dallas Cowboys last week. Legette hauled in both his targets for 11 yards in the win. The 24-year-old has two or less receptions in three of his four games this season. Legette isn't viewed as a significant threat in this offense right now. His role on offense could take a hit with Jalen Coker (quad) returning from the injured reserve. Honestly, no one on this offense is trustworthy outside of Tetairoa McMillan and Rico Dowdle right now. Legette is a touchdown-dependent option against the New York Jets in Week 7.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette returned in Week 5 from a hamstring injury that cost him two games and recorded two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown on three targets against the Miami Dolphins. Legette now has six catches for 39 yards and a score on 18 targets across three games this season. The Panthers have a favorable matchup on paper in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys, who allowed the most passing yards (1,520) and second-most passing touchdowns (12) in the NFL through the first five weeks of the season. Still, Legette's role in the Panthers' offense and his ability to produce are not secure enough to make him a trustworthy fantasy wide receiver. Additionally, Legette could have additional target competition in Week 6 with Panthers wideout Jalen Coker (quad) potentially set to return from Injured Reserve for his season debut. Legette should be avoided by fantasy managers against Dallas in Week 6.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) is back in action for the Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Legette will return this weekend after a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury. The targets have been there for Legette, but the 24-year-old has been unable to make an impact. Through two games, Legette has hauled in four of his 15 targets for eight yards this season. The Panthers offense isn't having much success right now. Legette clearly needs to build more chemistry with quarterback Bryce Young. Legette is worth a stash in certain formats, but isn't worth a start for Week 5.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) logged a full practice on Wednesday after missing the past two games. Legette injured his hamstring in Week 2 against the Cardinals and has not practiced since then. He now appears set to return from his multi-week absence and reclaim his spot as one of the team's starting receivers. It hasn't been the best start to the season for the second-year wideout, catching just four of his 15 targets on the season for 8 yards. He'll look to turn things around and help lift a Carolina offense that has not gotten off the ground yet. Legette is best left on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues as he gets set to return in Week 6.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) remains day-to-day, according to David Newton of ESPN. Legette picked up a hamstring injury in Week 2 and hasn't played since. With Legette banged up and Jalen Coker (quadriceps) still week-to-week and not particularly close to returning from Injured Reserve, the Panthers are looking forward to getting rookie Jimmy Horn Jr. involved going forward. The 24-year-old Legette was unable to practice at all last week, although he could have a shot at returning for a Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins if he gets back on the field this week. The Panthers need all the help they can get in the passing attack behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan, who has been the only consistent target for quarterback Bryce Young. Legette has caught only four of his 15 targets in two games for eight yards. He should be on the waiver wire in 12-team leagues.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) has officially been ruled out for the Week 4 road tilt against the New England Patriots on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It will be the second straight game that Legette will miss after he was unable to practice at all this week. He will need to get back on the practice field next week if he wants to return for a Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan (calf) is also questionable this weekend, so the Panthers could be pretty thin at wideout. Tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle) will also miss multiple weeks with a high-ankle sprain. It's setting up nicely for New England's defense in this one. With Legette out, Hunter Renfrow, David Moore, and Brycen Tremayne will battle for additional snaps and targets. Renfrow would be worth a look as a sleeper, but probably only if McMillan is out as well.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) was limited during Thursday's session, working off to the side without pads as his Week 4 status against the New England Patriots remains uncertain. The second-year wideout has had a tough start to the season, managing just four receptions for eight yards on 15 targets through three games. If Legette is unable to suit up, rookie Tetairoa McMillan should continue operating as Bryce Young's top target and will have a chance to build on his strong start to the season. Veteran slot receiver Hunter Renfrow could also see a bump in usage, making him a deeper-league option if Legette is forced to miss time. Fantasy managers should monitor Legette's status heading into the weekend, but his limited production so far suggests he's best left on benches until he proves healthy and more involved.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice after already sitting out the team's Week 3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The second-year receiver was expected to take on a bigger role in Carolina's passing attack following the preseason trade of Adam Thielen, but he has struggled to make an impact early. Through two games, Legette has caught just four of 15 targets for a mere eight yards, raising concerns about his efficiency and reliability. In his absence, rookie Tetairoa McMillan, tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders, and veteran Hunter Renfrow have carried the bulk of the workload in the aerial game. If Legette remains sidelined for Week 4, Renfrow could see another bump in opportunities and emerge as a sneaky waiver wire pickup in PPR fantasy leagues.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) is listed as inactive for Sunday's contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Legette was listed as a limited participant throughout the team's practices this week but was unable to progress enough to suit up. Managers should continue to monitor his status as the team prepares for their Week 4 contest against the New England Patriots. Through the first two games of the season, Legette has been given a lead role in the offense but has been unable to find much success. Legette has been targeted 15 times but has only been able to catch four of them for a mere eight yards. With Legette missing this contest, fantasy managers should expect rookie wideout Tetaiora McMillan and veteran wideout Hunter Renfrow to lead the offense.
From RotoBaller
The Carolina Panthers coaching staff still views wide receiver Xavier Legette as a contributor in the offense despite his slow start. Head coach Dave Canales noted that "This is a guy I truly believe in because of the way he's wired, the way he works at it, the way he continues to train," and "It's a matter of finding opportunities." Through the first two weeks, the former 32nd overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft has caught just four of 15 targets for a mere eight yards. Legette has continued to see a starting role with Jalen Coker (quadriceps) on the IR but has yet to deliver. In addition, the wideout carries a questionable tag into Week 3's contest due to a hamstring injury. Even if he were to play, Legette carries high risk as a low-end flex option, given his minimal production this season.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) has been labeled as questionable to play in a Week 3 divisional tilt against the visiting Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, according to David Newton of ESPN. Legette came down with some hamstring soreness in Wednesday's practice and was shut down. The 24-year-old was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday. Even if he's cleared to play this weekend, fantasy managers should not be compelled to use him in their starting lineups after catching only four of his 15 targets for eight yards in the first two games of the season. Legette is going to continue to be involved in Carolina's passing attack, but he could quickly become the WR3 in a suspect offense after Hunter Renfrow found the end zone twice in last week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Rookie Jimmy Horn Jr. or David Moore will see more snaps as the WR3 on Sunday if Legette is ruled out.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) was limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday, according to Sheena Quick of FOX Sports. Legette came down with some hamstring soreness on Wednesday and was shut down, but the fact that he was able to participate at all on Thursday gives him a chance to play in Week 3 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. However, Legette may need a full practice on Friday to avoid going into Sunday with a questionable tag. Despite playing in 81 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Legette caught just one of his eight targets for a loss of two yards. Now dealing with an injury, the 24-year-old cannot be considered a very attractive flex play in fantasy lineups going into this weekend against Atlanta if he ends up playing.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said that wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) had some hamstring soreness "kind of pop up" after individual drills in practice on Wednesday, so the team shut him down. Per the team's official website, Legette was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice report. However, if the 24-year-old is held out of practice on Thursday, he'll be in real danger of having to miss the Week 3 divisional meeting with the Atlanta Falcons this weekend. The 24-year-old had eight targets in the Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals but caught just one pass for a two-yard loss. He had three grabs on seven targets for 10 yards in the season-opening loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The volume has been there, but the efficiency hasn't been for Legette and quarterback Bryce Young. If Legette is out this Sunday, Hunter Renfrow, who caught two TD passes in Week 2, will be more involved again with Jalen Coker (quadriceps) on Injured Reserve.
