Player Notes
Nov 18 8:13pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) hopefully will be available to play in the Week 12 game, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle has missed the last two games because of the injury, so fantasy players should monitor his practice participation during the week. He is one of the top tight ends in the NFL and should be a starting fantasy option when he is healthy.

Nov 17 3:23pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 11 game.

From TheHuddle

Nov 17 2:43pm ET

The San Francisco 49ers have declared LB Azeez Al-Shaair, PK Robbie Gould, OT Joe Staley, QB C.J. Beathard, RB Matt Breida, DT D.J. Jones and TE George Kittle inactive for Week 11.

From TheHuddle

Nov 17 8:33am ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) will not play in Week 11's game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle had been listed as doubtful on the injury report after missing all three practice sessions during the week and there is no timetable for his return. None of San Francisco's other tight ends are worthy of consideration for fantasy lineups.

From TheHuddle

Nov 16 12:20pm ET

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (ankle, knee), who is doubtful for Week 11 against the Cardinals, said he's "feeling fantastic." Kittle was off to the side rehabbing at practice all week and remains likely to miss his second straight day. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said he feels an obligation to protect Kittle from himself in order to keep him healthy for the rest of the season. "He played through the game two weeks ago with the same deal. Thats why hes a guy you never count out. But you try to be smart with him, though. Well see how the other people do going up to kickoff," Shanahan said. Unless something drastic happens on Saturday, you should have Kittle on your benches again this week. Ross Dwelley should see more playing time as a result, but he's not on the TE2 radar despite the excellent matchup.

From RotoBaller

Nov 15 5:53pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 15, and is listed as doubtful for Week 11.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle likely will be inactive for the Week 11 game and there is no timetable for his return. Fantasy players should avoid all of the 49ers tight ends until Kittle returns to the lineup.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 7:53pm ET

San Francisco 49ers PK Robbie Gould (quadriceps), DT D.J. Jones (groin), TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) and OT Joe Staley (finger) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 14. LB Azeez Al-Shaair (concussion), TE Garrett Celek (back), DE Dee Ford (quadriceps), WR Dante Pettis (back), TE Levine Toilolo (groin) and CB Ahkello Witherspoon (foot, quadriceps) were limited during practice.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 3:50pm ET

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (ankle, knee), wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) and kicker Robbie Gould (quadriceps) all missed practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. It's looking like Kittle and Gould will miss their second straight game, while Sanders is doubtful after injuring his ribs on Monday night. Even in a great matchup, it'll make quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo one to fade if he's missing his top receiving targets. Rookie Deebo Samuel will have WR2 upside if both Kittle and Sanders sit out. We wouldn't recommend backup tight end Ross Dwelley or kicker Chase McLaughlin as deep league streamers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 13 9:43pm ET

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) has not yet been ruled out, a team spokesman said Wednesday, Nov. 13. The spokesman said head coach Kyle Shanahan wanted to say that the team has to 'plan' as if Kittle will not play. However, he is still considered unlikely to be available.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle is still a very, very risky fantasy play for Week 11, and it's likely Ross Dwelley sees a larger role with Deebo Samuel, Kendrick Bourne, Dante Pettis, etc. see more targets in the pass game, too.

From TheHuddle

Nov 13 9:13pm ET

San Francisco 49ers LB Azeez Al-Shaair (concussion), PK Robbie Gould (quadriceps), DT D.J. Jones (groin), TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) and OT Joe Staley (finger) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 13. TE Garrett Celek (back), DE Dee Ford (quadriceps), TE Levine Toilolo (groin) and CB Ahkello Witherspoon (foot, quadriceps) were limited during practice.

Nov 13 9:00pm ET

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (ankle, knee), wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) and kicker Robbie Gould (quadriceps) all missed practice on Wednesday. Kittle and Gould sat out on Monday night. All three could be game-time decisions in Week 11 against the Cardinals, making it tough on fantasy owners with the late afternoon start. Ross Dwelley and Chase McLaughlin shouldn't be in starting lineups, despite the great matchup, if Kittle and Gould miss a second straight game. Kittle is a must-start if he's active, but you'll need to have a backup plan. Sanders might have the best chance of playing and is being listed as day-to-day for now. Deebo Samuel, Kendrick Bourne and Marquise Goodwin would have bigger roles if Sanders is ruled out, but only Samuel should be trusted for starting lineups.

From RotoBaller

Nov 13 8:13pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) will not be able to play in the Week 11 game, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle will miss another game and there is no timetable for his return, so fantasy players will need to look for other options to use. None of the 49ers tight ends should be starting options in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 12 7:20pm ET

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (knee, ankle) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) are considered day-to-day and shaping up as game-time decisions in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals. Kittle and Sanders figure to practice minimally this week, if any. Kittle missed Week 10 and his injury appears serious but head coach Kyle Shanahan refrained from ruling out the warrior. Sanders suffered a rib cartilage injury on Monday night and the severity is unknown. Without their top aerial playmakers, the biggest gainer could be wideout Deebo Samuel. The rookie amassed 112 yards on eight catches in Week 10 and was clearly the most electric player amongst Kendrick Bourne, Marquise Goodwin and Dante Pettis. Samuel will be a hot waiver commodity and slots as a WR3 if both Kittle and Sanders cant go.

From RotoBaller

Nov 12 6:03pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (knee) is day-to-day, although head coach Kyle Shanahan is 'hopeful' Kittle will be able to play in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Spin: Expect the third-year tight end to be held out of practice early in the week, although it sounds like Kittle's fantasy owners need to be prepared for the possibility of another missed game. If he can make it through a limited practice by Friday, he'll have a chance to suit up and be worth a start in fantasy. If he can't go, Ross Dwelley and Garrett Celek figure to see the bulk of work on passing downs in his absence.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 6:53pm ET

The San Francisco 49ers have declared CB Ahkello Witherspoon, RB Jeff Wilson Jr., PK Robbie Gould, DT Jullian Taylor, OT Justin Skule, QB C.J. Beathard and TE George Kittle inactive for Week 10.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 6:53pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle, knee) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 10 game.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 1:40am ET

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (knee) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Kittle is among the best tight ends in both the NFL and in fantasy, so his absence this week would leave a huge hole. And with the Niners not playing until Monday night, Kittle owners will likely be without their star regardless of if he suits up or not, because you have to plug someone else into that lineup spot on Sunday, right? Unless you go with Kittle's backup, but it's hard to see either Ross Dwelley or Levine Toilolo having the kind of role on Monday that warrants a fantasy start. Assume Kittle isn't playing and look elsewhere.

From RotoBaller

Nov 9 6:03pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (knee) is already considered doubtful to play Monday, Nov. 11, but head coach Kyle Shanahan offered further insight Saturday, Nov. 9. 'If it was any other player I would probably say he's out,' Shanahan said. 'If it goes like this he will be out. George isn't a guy who needs to be out at practice. We know he's doing everything he can and we'll see how he feels on Monday but things would have to change.'

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy managers shouldn't be planning on having Kittle available for Week 10. Jack Doyle (Colts), Mike Gesicki (Dolphins), Kyle Rudolph (Vikings) are the best options likely to be available on the waiver wire.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 5:03pm ET

San Francisco 49ers PK Robbie Gould (quadricep) and TE George Kittle (knee/ankle) didn't practice Saturday, Nov. 9, and are considered doubtful for Week 10. OT Mike McGlinchey (knee), RB Raheem Mostert (knee), OT Joe Staley (fibula) and CB Ahkello Witherspoon (foot/quadricep) were limited participants and are questionable. TE Levine Toilolo (groin) was limited but is expected to play. DL Dee Ford (quadricep) and FB Kyle Juszczyk (knee) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Nov 9 4:43pm ET

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (knee) is listed as doubtful for the game Monday, Nov. 11, against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle has received at least five targets in all but one game this season. His absence would mean more work for WRs Emmanuel Sanders, Deebo Samuel and Dante Pettis in the passing game.
