Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 5.
Fantasy Spin: Williams was added to the injury report Thursday, so fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation. He has been involved in the running and passing game this season and should be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues if he is active.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams (knee) and tight end Jimmy Graham (calf, wrist) were both limited in practice on Thursday. Williams is a new addition to the injury report for Week 14 against the Redskins, so we'll have to keep an eye on his status on Friday. Williams has maintained RB3 value for fantasy owners alongside Aaron Jones, but his status may be in doubt this weekend. Jones would have RB1 upside if he has this backfield all to himself in a great matchup. Graham should be able to play, but he's become an unattractive touchdown-dependent TE2 with a low target floor. He hasn't scored since Oct. 20 and has a combined four catches the last three games.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams picked up 41 rushing yards on 10 carries and caught all four targets for 26 receiving yards. Williams ran much better in the snow than teammate Aaron Jones did, averaging 4.1 yards per carry to Jones' 1.6. The 24-year-old has been a solid flex play for three weeks in a row, as he's recorded 210 scrimmage yards combined in his last three contests. Williams hasn't found the end zone since Week 9, though it's not too concerning considering his involvement in the offense. He'll again be in the flex conversation against the Washington Redskins, who rank 28th against the run.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed for 41 yards on 10 carries against the New York Giants in Week 13. He also caught four passes for 26 yards during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Williams has received at least 10 carries in each of the last three games and continues to be involved in the passing game. He should receive a similar role next week and can be a flex option in fantasy leagues.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams gets a good matchup against the New York Giants in Week 13. Williams has caught at least six passes and carried the ball at least 11 times in two of the last three games. The 24-year-old leads the team in receiving touchdowns with five and will face a Giants Defense that has allowed the 10th-most rushing yards per game in the NFL. The only downside with Williams this week is the fact that Coach Matt LaFleur has stated a desire to get fellow back Aaron Jones more involved. Williams comes with a little bit of risk because of this, though he should still get seven to 10 touches, making him a flex-start against the lowly Giants.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams ran for 45 yards on 11 carries and caught seven of his eight targets for 35 yards in Week 12 versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Fantasy Spin: Head coach Matt LaFleur has pretty much stuck to the committee backfield approach all year, although Williams' volume in this game had as much to do with negative game script as it did with sharing the workload. He's going to be a fine flex option most weeks given his role in a good offense, but he'll be hard-pressed to be anything more than that unless Aaron Jones misses time.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams picked up 45 rushing yards on 11 totes and caught seven of eight targets for 35 receiving yards. Williams out-touched fellow back Aaron Jones 18-13, though nine of his touches came when the game was over and finished. Besides these late touches, Williams, like Jones, found running room hard to come by against the stingy 49ers. Garbage-time or not, Williams saw more work in the passing game than Jones, eight targets to one. Perhaps the backfield is shifting more towards Jones as the lead runner and Williams as the pass-catcher, though it may have just been a quirk in the gameplan. Williams and the Packers will take on an improved New York Giants run defense in Week 13.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. Despite fellow back Aaron Jones emerging as a fantasy star, there's still been room for Williams to operate most weeks. The 24-year-old has averaged 10 touches per game in nine games played and has a team-leading five receiving touchdowns. San Francisco's defense ranks first against the pass but just 20th against the run. Through Week 12, opposing backs have averaged 22 touches per game against the 49ers. Williams may get less rushing attempts than Jones, but he could operate as a safety valve for Aaron Rodgers out of the backfield. It's risky, but Williams can be used in the flex spot this week.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams had a decent day on the ground in his team's Week 10 win. The 24-year-old tallied 13 carries, the same number as backfield mate Aaron Jones, and 63 rushing yards. The 13 carries were his second-highest total this year, as he and Jones benefited from the run-heavy game script. It was nice to see Williams receive the same volume as Jones, though the latter hogged all the touchdowns. Williams, like Jones, didn't register a catch after logging four straight touchdown catches. Williams continues to be involved in Green Bay's offense heading into their Week 11 bye. They'll take on a stingy San Francisco 49ers Defense in Week 12.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams carried the ball 13 times for 63 yards in the team's Week 10 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Spin: Williams enjoyed a 50/50 split with Aaron Jones on carries, but Jones turned his into 93 yards and three TDs while Williams accounted for a more modest 63 yards -- he did have a carry from the one but was stopped for a loss. Neither RB figured in the passing game on Sunday, but Williams' season-long involvement offensively makes him a decent flex option.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams will look to continue his success into Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old has caught a touchdown in four straight games. Williams has out-touched fellow back Aaron Jones in just two of the eight games he's played, though he's managed to remain fantasy-relevant. He should be busy again in Week 10, as the Panthers rank 27th in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to running backs. They've allowed two running backs to post at least 50 scrimmage yards in four games this year. There's a good chance that both Williams and Jones post good numbers in this one. Start Williams as a flex or RB2 this week.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed twice for 10 yards and caught all six of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in a 26-11 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9.
Fantasy Spin: Williams plays second fiddle to Aaron Jones in terms of touches most weeks, but he has now caught a touchdown in four straight games. He's a touchdown-dependent flex option in PPR formats and a must-own handcuff for Jones.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams enjoyed a solid day in an otherwise poor showing by his team's offense. Williams had just two carries for 10 yards but caught all six of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown. That makes four straight games with a touchdown catch for the 24-year-old. He was out-touched by fellow back Aaron Jones but was more involved in the passing game than his teammate. With at least five targets in two of his last three games, Williams can be a flex option moving forward. He'll get a good matchup next week against Carolina, who ranks 27th in fantasy points allowed to opposing backs.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams has a great matchup ahead of him in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Since Week 6, Williams' rushing attempts have been a bit volatile, tallying a season-high 14 against the Lions but a season-low three against Oakland the following week. Fortunately for Williams, he's seen at least three targets in each of his last three games, indicating that he's operating as a 1B to Aaron Jones' 1A. Week 8 against Kansas City proved that both Jones and Williams could have success in the same game, as both backs found the end zone twice. Week 9 could be similar, considering the Chargers rank 22nd in the league in fantasy points allowed to running backs. Williams is a good flex option.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams had seven carries for 22 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Oct. 27. He also had three receptions for 14 yards and a score.
Fantasy Spin: On a night when Aaron Jones went absolutely crazy, Williams still found a way to make an impact with two touchdowns, one coming on a diving reception in the corner of the end zone. His yardage is inconsistent, but with five TDs on the year, Williams has attained RB3 status.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams could have flex appeal against the Kansas City Chiefs, but only in deeper leagues. Williams has been the rotation back for the Packers this season but has caught a touchdown in his last two games. The Chiefs, however, are one of the worst units in the league at defending the position. The team has given up an average of 21.2 points to the position but have only conceded one receiving touchdown this season. While Williams' fantasy value has been tied to his receiving touchdowns, there should be enough opportunities on the ground to allow Williams to be in the RB3/4 discussion in what could be a high-scoring game.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams rushed three times for just five yards in Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders and he added four grabs for 26 yards and a touchdown on five targets.
Fantasy Spin: Williams had a giant rushing performance with Aaron Jones struggling on Monday night, but Jones was back and Williams took a back seat. For those starting Williams, at least he had a touchdown so the cupboard wasn't completely bare. The Packers meet the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night in Week 8.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams has RB3 value in deeper leagues against the Oakland Raiders this week. Williams returned from injury against the Detroit Lions, taking full advantage of the struggles of Aaron Jones. Williams finished the game with 104 yards on the ground, with an additional 32 yards and a touchdown through the air. The Raiders have been an effective unit against running backs, giving up an average of just 16.3 points to the position. However, they have yet to face a team that has had an effective running attack. While Jones has been the lead back in the games in which both players have been available, Williams is still likely to be given enough touches to be an RB3 or flex play, especially with Green Bay's top three receivers potentially inactive due to injury.
Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams ran for 104 yards on 14 carries to go along with four catches in the win over the Lions. After Aaron Jones fumbled and dropped a wide-open pass from Aaron Rodgers that would have led to a score, Williams was inserted and made the most of it. Though the 24-year-old will likely continue as the No. 1 option out of the backfield, Williams may have some value against the Raiders on Sunday. If Davante Adams (toe), Geronimo Allison (concussion, chest), or Marquez Valdes-Scantling (leg) aren't able to suit up in Week 7, look for Jones to get more looks as a receiver, with Williams coming in for relief, especially on rushing downs.
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams ran 14 times for 104 yards in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions, and he had four grabs for 32 yards and a touchdown. His last run was almost a touchdown, as the Lions were going to allow him to score so they could get the ball back, but he gave himself up at the 1-yard line rather than score.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy owners can't complain too much, as he hit triple digits and had the receiving score, but the selfless play at the end cost them some points. He picked up the slack with Aaron Jones having a forgettable game. The Packers host the Raiders in Week 7.
