The Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday. Marshall was waived by the Carolina Panthers at the end of training camp and then latched on with the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad before being released last week. The 24-year-old former second-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2021 out of LSU caught 64 of 110 targets for 767 yards and just one touchdown in 36 games (16 starts) in his first three years in the league. Marshall will now head to Vegas to serve as receiver depth for a team in freefall after just trading All-Pro wideout Davante Adams to the New York Jets. Right now, Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker and DJ Turner are the Raiders' top three wideouts, with Tyreik McAllister and Alex Bachman further down the depth chart. Marshall can continue to be ignored in fantasy.

The San Francisco 49ers have released fourth-year wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. from their practice squad. Marshall Jr. failed to be activated to the 53-man roster despite the injuries at the position. He is a former second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers who has struggled to find his footing since his rookie contract expired. In his career, he has recorded 64 catches for 767 yards and one touchdown. This release does not impact the 49ers' passing game, as they appear to be fully healthy again. Marshall Jr. will look to land on another team looking for wide receiver help, but the former Carolina Panther is mainly a stash in deep dynasty formats for now.

Dynasty | Terrace Marshall has signed on with the San Francisco 49ers and will join their practice sqaud. Dynasty Analysis: The 49ers seem to collect wide receivers like baseball cards, so this makes sense. Marshall flamed out in Carolina but it's clear he has real talent. San Francisco will likely try to stash him for a while. then either call him up on their own or attempt to block another team from signing him off their squad. It's hard to keep a player on a practice squad on your dynasty roster, but you could make a case for Marshall.
Free agent wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz. The former 2021 second-round selection was waived by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday afternoon. Over his first three NFL seasons, the LSU product totaled just 767 yards and one score on 64 receptions. Marshall saw a career-high 490 yards in 2022 but took a significant step down last season as he tallied only 139 yards. The 24-year-old could push to earn the No.4 or 5 spot on the 49er depth chart or may be placed on the practice squad for the time being. Marshall could be a name to monitor in deeper dynasty leagues, as he has yet to earn an extended opportunity in the NFL despite being a high draft pick.

Dynasty | The Panthers have released wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. Dynasty Analysis: Wow. Marshall had a good camp by all accounts but the Panthers have clearly soured on their 2021 second round pick. He has clear talent but has simply never really put it all together so far in his career. He was a popular trade candidate going into cutdowns so it seems logical he'll land on his feet quickly. A fresh start was needed here, so Marshall can stay on a dynasty roster at the moment.
The Carolina Panthers released wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. on Tuesday, according to a source. The former second-rounder had a strong training camp this summer and should be a good waiver option for other NFL teams looking to build extra receiving depth heading into the start of the 2024 regular season in just under two weeks. Marshall finds himself on the open market after catching 64 passes for 767 yards and only one touchdown on 110 targets in his three seasons in Carolina over 36 games played (16 starts). The 24-year-old pass-catcher became the odd-man out in the receiving corps after the Panthers added Diontae Johnson via trade and rookie Xavier Legette in the first round of April's NFL draft. Marshall played in only nine games in 2023 in a terrible Panthers offense and finished with only 19 receptions for 139 yards and no scores.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. has been making a strong impression this year at training camp. Despite high expectations as a second-round pick out of LSU in 2023, Marshall has yet to fully realize his potential in the NFL. At LSU, he excelled with 106 receptions, 1,594 yards, and 23 touchdowns over 32 games. He is beginning to showcase the level of play he demonstrated in college, regularly providing highlights with his catches in training camp. However, Marshall faces stiff competition for playing time with the Panthers, having traded for Diontae Johnson, drafted Xavier Legette (32nd overall), and retained their leading receiver from 2023, Adam Thielen. Although Marshall's fantasy value remains uncertaingiven his modest 767 yards and one touchdown over his first three NFL seasonshe could still vie for the third wide receiver spot alongside Legette and Jonathan Mingo.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. was already on shaky ground heading into the offseason before the team selected receiver Xavier Legette with the final pick in the first round of this year's NFL draft while also adding Diontae Johnson via a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers. There's a reason the former second-round pick requested to be moved before last year's trade deadline. With the offseason additions, Marshall will likely be fighting to hang onto one of the final roster spots at the position in training camp this summer, especially if an undrafted free agent like Jalen Coker or Sam Pinckney sticks. Marshall, 23, had just 19 receptions for 139 yards and no touchdowns in Carolina's brutal offense a year ago and has just 64 catches for 767 yards and one touchdown in his three years in the NFL. He shouldn't be drafted in fantasy leagues this fall.
