Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron posted two receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Lions tight end Eric Ebron had his second touchdown reception of the season, a 29-yard strike late in the game to help the Lions secure a 38-24 victory over the Browns. Ebron only had one other reception for 10 yards, but it has been a while since fantasy owners have seen Ebron put the ball in the end zone. It has been a disappointing season for the third year TE, and he still lines up as a very low-end TE1/TE2 in fantasy formats.
Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron hauled in three catches for 35 yards in the Lions Monday night victory over the Packers. Ebron was expected to be traded last week after some frustration about his performance with the Lions thus far, but he was retained and had another subpar performance. Ebron was only targeted four times in a game where Matthew Stafford threw 33 passes and appears to have fallen considerably out of favor in the Lions offense. Drop him if you still have him except in very deep formats, as his performance seems unlikely to improve this season.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron didn't start Monday, Nov. 6, for the first time this season.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron's chances of being traded before the deadline were exaggerated, according to head coach Jim Caldwell, and Caldwell said he expects Ebron's production to improve as the season goes on.
Despite rumours flying about that the Lions were going to trade TE Eric Ebron, the 2014 first round pick is staying put, at least through the rest of the season. Ebron's struggles have been well-documented this season, as the third year man has not lived up to his preseason proclamation that he would make the Pro Bowl. So far Ebron has caught 15 passes on 32 targets for 160 yards and a touchdown, a far cry from the expectations that were laid upon him preseason. Ebron periodically flashes his potential, but his extremely low floor and the plethora of receiving options in Detroit make him a very risky TE play going forward.
Eric Ebron hauled in two catches for 58 yards on Sunday, including a nice 44 yard gain. However, he was targeted six times in the game and has now only caught 15 of 32 passes on the year. Ebron's struggles to catch the ball have drawn the ire of many in Detroit, and his name has come up frequently in trade rumors. At this point he is a safe drop in most fantasy formats, as his sporadic success comes with too low of a floor to trust him except in very deep leagues. Perhaps a trade will bring him into a better situation, but that seems unlikely.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron had a pair of receptions for 58 yards in the second half of the Week 8 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron is actively being shopped to other teams and likely will be moved before the trade deadline, according to a source.
Multiple teams have reportedly contacted the Detroit Lions to discuss trading for TE Eric Ebron.
Eric Ebron is one of the most popular names being floated around in trade rumors as the midseason trade deadline nears. Midseason trades are rare in the NFL, so the odds of him getting dealt may be pretty slim. However, Ebron's name coming up is a sign that the Lions may be ready to part ways with their former first round pick. Ebron has had a disappointing season, catching 13 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown and ceding red zone touches to fellow tight end Darren Fells. Perhaps a change of scenery would be good for Ebron, but for now he is a low-end TE2 in most fantasy formats.
Eric Ebron was not at practice for the Lions on Monday due to the birth of his child. His absence does not figure to impact his availability for the Lions' Week 8 matchup against the Steelers. Ebron has had a rough go of things so far this season, having only hauled in 13 catches (on 26 targets) for 113 yards and a touchdown. Darren Fells, originally signed as a blocking tight end, has scored three touchdowns over the last two weeks and appears to have surpassed Ebron as a red-zone target. Those who still own Ebron should be scouring the waiver wire for a replacement, as his recent performance is only worth starting in deeper formats.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron managed just one catch for nine yards in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints on a total of three targets.
Eric Ebron said he met with quarterback Matthew Stafford on Monday to try and rekindle their connection from last season, when Ebron had a career-high 61 receptions. Ebron is off to a very slow start this year, only hauling in 12 catches for 93 yards so far. He also had two very prominent drops on Sunday against the Panthers, one in the end zone that would have been the difference maker. Ebron's performance this season and the emergence of Darren Fells has fantasy owners scrambling for a replacement. While there is still a chance Ebron will turn it around, it may be wise to look for someone else to man the tight end spot, at least for the time being.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron met with QB Matthew Stafford Monday, Oct. 9, in an effort to correct the slump he's been in this season. Ebron said he is 'in the dumps' mentally and needs to get his act together. Through five games this year, Ebron has managed just 12 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Eric Ebron had an ugly game on Sunday, only hauling in one catch for six yards while having multiple drops, including a big play in the fourth quarter that could have given the Lions a chance to score. Meanwhile, Ebron's counterpart, Darren Fells, hauled in two touchdown receptions. It is too soon to assume there is a changing of the guard for the Lions, but Ebron fantasy owners may want to look for a reliable backup to plug in while Ebron sorts through his issues. The Lions will likely utilize Fells more going forward, so at best Ebron is likely losing touches going forward. He is a risky TE2 at this point, even in a friendly matchup against the Saints next week.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron posted just one catch for six yards on four targets in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.
Eric Ebron played in his lowest percentage of snaps for the Lions this season in Sunday's win over the Vikings. Meanwhile Darren Fells, the Lions other tight end, had a career high four catches for 40 yards. Head coach Jim Caldwell said that Ebron's low usage was just a matchup issue, as the Lions wanted Fells in the game more for his blocking ability. Still, it is hard not to get discouraged seeing Ebron's two catches for 27 yards, especially after he had two key drops in Week 3 against the Falcons. Injuries have decimated the tight end position, leaving Ebron as a borderline TE1 despite his struggles. He will likely see more usage in Week 5 against the Panthers. Fells is primarily a blocking tight end and should not be owned in any formats.
Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron managed just two catches for 27 yards on four targets in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Eric Ebron was targeted seven times on Sunday, but only hauled in two catches for nine total yards against the Falcons. Ebron has now sandwiched a very good week 2 performance (42 yards and a touchdown) between two games with two catches and nine yards. Ebron's inconsistency makes him a frustrating fantasy asset, especially with the Lions opting to use their running backs, Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick, in the passing game. Ebron is a low-end TE1 at the moment, thanks mostly to all the injuries to other tight ends. He is uninspiring going forward, to say the least.
