As expected, Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) will not play on Sunday against the visiting Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 due to a rib injury. Chubb injured his ribs in the Sunday night win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14 and did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. The 29-year-old returned to a limited practice on Friday, but it wasn't enough to clear him to play this weekend against Arizona. Even before his injury, Chubb had become a lackluster, low-upside RB3/flex option for fantasy managers as the No. 2 in Houston's backfield behind rookie Woody Marks. In his first year in Houston, the four-time Pro Bowler is averaging 4.1 yards per carry for 472 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 115 carries. Marks had a season-high 26 carries last week in KC and should be guaranteed another heavy workload in a great matchup against the Cardinals. Dare Ogunbowale figures to work as the RB2 behind Marks with Chubb out.
From RotoBaller
The Houston Texans have declared CB Ameer Speed, DE Solomon Byrd, WR Braxton Berrios, C Jarrett Patterson, LB E.J. Speed, QB Graham Mertz and RB Nick Chubb inactive for Week 15.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (ribs) has been declared inactive for the Week 15 game.
Fantasy Spin: Woody Marks should receive most of the work at running back with Chubb sidelined and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option in all fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) is not expected to play in Sunday's Week 15 contest against the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Chubb had been listed as questionable. He missed two consecutive practices before logging a limited session on Friday, but the late upgrade in participation evidently wasn't enough for him to suit up this week. Chubb's absence will strengthen Woody Marks' hold on the lead-back role in Houston. Marks ranks as the overall RB12 in this week's RotoBaller fantasy rankings. Dare Ogunbowale will operate as Marks' backup, and British Brooks could earn a few snaps in the third-string role.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (rib), who is listed as questionable, is not expected to play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15.
Fantasy Spin: With Chubb sidelined, Woody Marks should handle a heavy workload against an Arizona defense that has struggled to contain the run. Marks looks like a high-end RB2 for Week 15.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) was forced to leave last week's big win over the Chiefs early with a rib injury, but there's still a chance he's available for Week 15 against the Cardinals. He missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but was able to get in a limited session on Friday. If he does play, he'll get a great matchup against the Cardinals' porous run defense that has given up 18 touchdowns to running backs this season. While Woody Marks is likely to get most of the work even if Chubb is healthy, he would bring touchdown-dependent upside. He only had one carry for three yards last week before his injury, but in Week 13, he found the end zone against the Colts for his third score of the season. He's a high-risk flex play even if he's active, even though he does have the potential to get some work, especially if the Texans play from ahead against Arizona
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) is listed as questionable ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Chubb missed back-to-back practices to begin the week before getting in a limited session on Friday. The 29-year-old back suffered a rib injury during last week's win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. If he misses Sunday's contest, rookie Woody Marks should have an even bigger workload as Houston's lead back. Marks rushed a season-high 26 times for 68 yards while scoring a touchdown through the air during last week's victory. The absence of Chubb would make Marks a more appealing upside RB2 option. If active, Chubb is best left on the bench in 12-team formats given his struggles for most of the year. Dare Ogunbowale, who scored a goal-line TD on his only touch in Week 14, will be in line for change-of-pace duties behind Marks if Chubb is inactive.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans WR Justin Watson (calf) and TE Harrison Bryant (neck, shoulder) practiced in full on Friday, Dec. 12, and are listed as questionable. RB Nick Chubb (ribs) and LB E.J. Speed (knee) were limited in practice on Friday and are listed as questionable. CB Kamari Lassiter (foot) was limited in practice on Friday and no longer appears on the injury report. LB Azeez Al-Shaair (ankle), DE Denico Autry (knee), OT Trent Brown (hand), LB Jamal Hill (hamstring), RB Woody Marks (knee), and DL Sheldon Rankins (elbow, shoulder) practiced in full and no longer appear on the injury report.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) was not seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Friday, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Chubb injured his ribs in the Sunday night win over the Kansas City Chiefs and has not been able to practice all week. The Texans have yet to release their final Week 15 injury report, but it's looking like Chubb will be ruled out. The 29-year-old veteran hasn't been very explosive in his first year in Houston and ceded lead-back duties to rookie Woody Marks long ago. When active, Chubb doesn't profile as much more than a touchdown-dependent, low-upside RB3/flex option in deeper fantasy leagues. He has 115 carries on the year for 472 yards and three touchdowns, and has added 58 receiving yards. If Chubb is officially ruled out, it will open up a bigger role for Dare Ogunbowale as the RB2 behind Marks against the Cardinals on Sunday.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (ribs) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 11.
Fantasy Spin: With two missed practices in the books, Chubb's status for Week 15 is certainly in doubt. He was already falling behind Woody Marks in the backfield pecking order, and if Chubb is ruled out, Marks will be a strong RB2 option in Week 15.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans CB Kamari Lassiter (foot), RB Nick Chubb (ribs) and OT Tytus Howard (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 11. RB Woody Marks (knee), LB E.J. Speed (knee) and DE Denico Autry (knee) were limited during practice. LB Azeez Al-Shaair (ankle), LB Jamal Hill (hamstring), OT Trent Brown (hand), WR Justin Watson (calf), TE Harrison Bryant (neck, shoulder) and DT Sheldon Rankins (elbow, shoulder) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) is missing another day of practice on Thursday due to a rib injury, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Rookie RB Woody Marks (ankle) also missed practice on Wednesday, but he has returned to the field on Thursday. The 29-year-old Chubb is in real danger of missing the Week 15 contest on Sunday against the visiting Arizona Cardinals. He has already lost lead-back duties to Marks, with Chubb not seeing double-digit carries in a game since back on Nov. 2 against the Denver Broncos. With Chubb getting injured in the Sunday night win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Marks saw a season-high 26 carries for 68 yards while also catching two passes for eight yards and a touchdown. Marks should have an even bigger workload in a plus matchup this Sunday if Chubb is ruled out, with Dare Ogunbowale jumping into the RB2 role for Houston.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair (ankle), DL Denico Autry (knee), OT Trent Brown (hand), RB Nick Chubb (ribs), CB Kamari Lassiter (foot), RB Woody Marks (knee) and DT Sheldon Rankins (elbow, shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 10. TE Harrison Bryant (neck, shoulder), LB Jamal Hill (hamstring), LB E.J. Speed (knee) and WR Justin Watson (calf) were listed as limited participants.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (ribs) was unable to participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10 due to his ribs injury.
Fantasy Spin: Chubb has been sharing the carries with Woody Marks, who is also battling a knee injury, and he was unable to play. Chubb could have some strong fantasy value if he is healthy, and Marks is unable to go in Week 15. We'll know a lot more about the situation once the official injury designations are revealed Friday.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (rib) is not participating in Wednesday's practice session, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Chubb could be in danger of missing the Week 15 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals after injuring his rib during the second quarter of the Texans' win over the Chiefs on Sunday night. The former Cleveland Browns running back has taken a back seat to rookie Woody Marks in recent weeks, playing just 21.4% of the snaps with 24 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown over the past five games. Marks could see an even bigger workload in Week 15 against the Cardinals if Chubb is ruled out, with Dare Ogunbowale likely to mix in more frequently as well. Fantasy managers shouldn't be planning on starting Chubb, anyway, even if he gains clearance to play in Week 15.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (rib) could be in danger of missing the team's Week 15 contest against the Arizona Cardinals after he suffered a rib injury in Sunday night's win over the Kansas City Chiefs. "Woody Marks has done a nice job. He's handled himself very well, taking care of his body. It's hard being an RB in this league. We'll see where Chubb (rib) ends up this week and if he can get back out there for us," head coach DeMeco Ryans said on Monday. Chubb injured his rib in the second quarter and never returned. The rookie Marks has already taken over Houston's backfield, and he had a career-high 26 rushing attempts in the 20-10 win in KC, going for 68 yards while adding two catches for eight yards and a touchdown. Marks should see another heavy RB1-type workload against Arizona on Sunday, regardless of whether Chubb is active. Chubb hasn't had double-digit carries in a game since Nov. 2.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (ribs) left the Week 14 game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to an injury to his ribs, and he will not return. Chubb finished with a 3-yard gain on his only attempts, and he was not targeted in the passing game.
Fantasy Spin: With Chubb sidelined, Dare Ogunbowale will step up and serve as the understudy to Woody Marks, who will carry the mail the rest of the way.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (rib) suffered a rib injury in the first half of the Sunday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs and has been ruled out for the rest of the contest, according to KPRC 2 Sports' Aaron Wilson. Before getting hurt, Chubb had just one rushing attempt for three yards. The 29-year-old was not targeted in the passing game. Rookie Woody Marks, who had already taken over Houston's backfield in the absence of Joe Mixon (ankle, foot), hasn't been very efficient on the ground against the Chiefs, but he was able to haul in a short touchdown pass in the first quarter. Regardless of whether Chubb is able to return for a Week 15 game against the Arizona Cardinals, Marks should be Houston's RB1 the rest of the season. If Chubb can't make it back next week, Dare Ogunbowale would likely operate as the RB2 for the Texans behind Marks.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (ribs) is questionable to return to his team's Week 14 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a rib injury. Chubb recorded one carry for three yards before exiting the game. Chubb entered Week 14 with 469 rushing yards and three touchdowns across 12 games played in 2025. However, he has not recorded double-digit carries in any game since Week 9 as Texans rookie back Woody Marks has taken over as the lead rusher in Houston. If Chubb is unable to return in Week 14, Marks will likely dominate backfield work for the remainder of the game against Kansas City.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb has settled in as a change-of-pace option in the Texans' backfield, playing behind rookie Woody Marks, but he still does get enough work to be on the radar in very deep formats. He had his third touchdown of the season in last week's win over the Colts, finishing with nine carries for 34 rushing yards to go with his score. He is no longer the big-play threat or the workhorse that he was earlier in his career, but he is still getting about a third of the snaps in Houston's backfield timeshare. Chubb is the No. 45 RB in RotoBaller's rankings this week as the Texans face the tough Chiefs' run defense on Sunday Night Football. In most standard-sized leagues, there are better options available, but in very deep leagues, he can be a touchdown-reliant flex play.
