2024 RTSports Outlook

Guyton tore his ACL in Week 3, catching two passes for 64 yards in three games. He had 25-plus receptions two straight seasons before last year. He does well out of the slot and helps in a depth role, a role he should have again this season once he is healthy. Guyton is a speedy receiver that does well out of the slot. He catches the ball well and can make some plays after the catch.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Guyton is returning from a major knee injury and has never been a huge help to fantasy teams, so he probably isn't worth a draft pick. He could get 25 receptions for 400 yards and a few scores.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton is not a good fantasy option in a Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos despite several injuries ahead of him on the depth chart. Keenan Allen (heel) and Joshua Palmer (concussion) are both questionable at best. In theory, that leaves Guyton as one of the top two wide receivers on the depth chart alongside rookie Quentin Johnston, but Guyton has made just six catches in his past five games, and the Chargers offense is among the worst in the league right now.

Dec 21 4:30pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton is unlikely to be a fantasy relevant option in a Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills. Guyton has nine catches all season and will work behind Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston on an offense led by Easton Stick. Guyton has the speed to break off a long touchdown at any point, but that small likelihood is essentially his only chance to put up a significant fantasy performance. He should remain on most waiver wires.

Dec 15 1:10am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton made two catches in a tough Week 15 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Guyton saw two targets, catching both for a total of 19 yards. With Keenan Allen (heel) forced to miss the game, there was some thought that Guyton could play a larger role, but he remained a distant option behind rookie Quentin Johnston and the recently activated Joshua Palmer. With the Chargers offense in shambles, Guyton will remain off the fantasy radar for the remainder of the season.

Dec 13 11:50am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton could see his role expand a bit in a Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. With Keenan Allen (heel) questionable at best after being listed as "DNP" on two straight practices to start the week, Guyton may end up as the second option in the passing game behind struggling rookie Quentin Johnston. Still, with Easton Stick set to start in place of Justin Herbert (finger), there's not much hope for a big fantasy performance. Guyton has not had a multi-catch game since Week 10 and has put up three straight weeks scoring one fantasy point per week. He's got the speed to crank out a long touchdown at any point, but fantasy managers can likely find safer choices and higher-upside ones on most waiver wires.

Dec 7 4:40pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton is not worth a start in a Week 14 game against the Denver Broncos. Guyton is the fastest wide receiver on the Chargers roster, but it has not translated into anything on the field, as he's gone two games in a row with just one catch in each game. He's totaled 14 fantasy points in the four games he's played this season, with 12 of those points coming in a solid Week 10 performance. He's off the fantasy radar until he can prove that the one-catch games are the exception and not the 12-point one.

Nov 30 1:40pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton could have a key role on the Chargers offense in a Week 13 game against the New England Patriots. Guyton hasn't done much in his three games so far this season, totaling just 13 fantasy points, with 12 of them coming in Week 10. But with Keenan Allen (quadricep) questionable after missing practice on Wednesday, Guyton would slide into the WR1 spot for the Chargers mostly by default. Guyton is the fastest pass catcher on the roster, so he's always a threat for a big play, but consistency has always been an issue. He's a decent fit in a best ball lineup, but hard to trust in standard leagues.

Nov 27 1:10am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton made just one catch in a Week 12 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Guyton was targeted a healthy five times, but came up with just one catch, gaining four yards. It was a tough game for the Chargers offense in general, but Guyton definitely had a few passes thrown his way where he could have made a play to come down with the catch. Next week against the New England Patriots should be a better matchup, but Guyton generally remains off the fantasy radar in all but the deepest formats.

From RotoBaller

Nov 26 7:40pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton (groin) will play on Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Guyton has played in only two games this season, totaling four grabs for 41 yards and a touchdown. Of course, that type of production won't make him an attractive fantasy asset. However, with the Chargers looking for answers outside of Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler, Guyton could be streamed in deep fantasy setups.

Nov 26 8:20am ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett (chest) and wide receiver Jalen Guyton (groin) are expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Both players had been listed as questionable but were trending in the right direction after practicing in a limited or full capacity this past week. Everett has been underwhelming this season, catching 21 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He's not a reliable fantasy option at the moment. Guyton, on the other hand, caught four passes for 41 yards and one touchdown in the last game he played, putting him in the low-end WR3/FLEX tier for Week 12.

Nov 24 5:00pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett (chest) and wide receiver Jalen Guyton (groin) are officially questionable to play against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. Both players missed last week's clash and are looking to return following their respective one-game absences. Of the two, Everett has made more progress, logging a full practice on Friday. With that said, Guyton was limited all week long, meaning that he got on the field for three consecutive practices. If active, Everett would be a low-end fantasy TE2 while Guyton ranks as a WR5.

Nov 23 12:30am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton (groin) could have a significant role in the passing game in a Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Guyton missed Week 11 with a groin injury but was able to get in an early-week limited practice and is trending toward playing on Sunday. Assuming he's active and healthy, he could be the second option behind an also-injured Keenan Allen (shoulder). The Chargers receiving corps is in rough shape, but someone will need to step off and the speedy Guyton could be the one with the deep ball role, a pass that quarterback Justin Herbert excels at. Even if he's fully healthy, there's a ton of variance in Guyton's game, making him an even riskier choice this week. There's certainly upside for those willing to take a near-zero floor risk though.

Nov 22 10:00pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton (groin) was limited in Wednesday's practice ahead of his team's Week 12 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Guyton caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown back in Week 10 but he missed Week 11's loss with a groin injury. His ability to get in a limited session on Wednesday is a step in the right direction heading into Week 12. Fantasy manager will want to check in on Thursday and Friday's practice reports before plugging Guyton into their lineups as a flex option. He could have a big role in Week 12 with several LA pass-catchers banged up.

From RotoBaller

Nov 19 8:30am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton (groin) will be inactive for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Guyton was added to the injury report Friday and evidently wasn't able to recover in time for kickoff. This is brutal news for Los Angeles. Already weakened at wide receiver, the Chargers will be without two additional pass-catchers on Sunday in Guyton and Gerald Everett (chest) out. Look for Quentin Johnston and tight end Donald Parham Jr. to see increased volume behind Keenan Allen.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 11:50am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton could end up with a bigger role in a Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers. Guyton played his first game of the season in Week 9, and then scored his first touchdown in Week 10, finishing up as a solid WR2 in most fantasy formats. With Keenan Allen (shoulder) questionable and possibly limited if he plays, Guyton could take on a bigger role on the road in Green Bay. He's a solid speculative add in deeper leagues and could have some FLEX value if Allen ultimately sits.

Nov 13 12:20am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton caught a touchdown in a Week 10 loss to the Detroit Lions. Guyton, who made his season debut in Week 9 after coming off injured reserve, was targeted six times, making four catches for 41 yards. His touchdown came on a seed from quarterback Justin Herbert from 18 yards out in the third quarter. With Mike Williams (knee) and Joshua Palmer (knee) both on IR, Guyton could continue to see his role grow and is worth grabbing off the waiver wire in deeper leagues.

From RotoBaller

Nov 7 12:20am ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton (knee) made his return to the field in a Week 9 win over the New York Jets. He ended up seeing two targets but was unable to come down with a catch. He did appear to make it through the game without suffering any further injury, however. Guyton, one of the fastest players on the Chargers roster, tore his ACL in Week 3 last season and had not been on an NFL field since. With Mike Williams (knee) and Joshua Palmer (knee) both on IR, Guyton could be worth at least a short-term add for the next few weeks, beginning in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions.

From RotoBaller

Nov 6 7:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton (knee) is active for the Monday night game against the New York Jets to close out Week 9 action. Guyton came in questionable to play but will be active for the Chargers for the first time since tearing his ACL in Week 3 of last season. The 26-year-old was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list when the Chargers placed Joshua Palmer (knee) on Injured Reserve over the weekend. Guyton will probably be eased back in by the Bolts, but he'll have a chance to carve out some playing time behind Keenan Allen and rookie first-rounder Quentin Johnston while Palmer is sidelined for the next four games. Fantasy managers don't need to run out and add Guyton off the waiver wire, but he's a name to watch in deeper leagues.
