Los Angeles Rams' QB Matthew Stafford scored 28.95 fantasy points in Thursday's Week 8 win against the Vikings. Stafford threw for 279 yards on 25-of-34 with four touchdowns and one interception. It's the 1st time this season Stafford scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had all of his weapons back on offense and made use of every single one in their 30-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran signal-caller finished the game with 279 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception while throwing 25-for-34. He was able to find nine different pass-catchers in this game, and his chemistry with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp returned right away. This was his first game of the season with more than one touchdown and no sacks. The Rams will get some extra rest before heading to Seattle in Week 9.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford connected on 25 of his 34 pass attempts for 279 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception in a Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Spin: Over his first six games of the season, Stafford had three TD passes and four INTs. With Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in action on Thursday night, however, it was a different Stafford, and a different Rams offense. The veteran shredded the Vikings' highly regarded defense for four touchdown strikes, eclipsing his season-to-date total in the process. A complete non-factor in fantasy circles coming into this game, Stafford reminded everyone of his weekly upside when he has all his weapons available. He'd make a capable QB2 that can be used in favorable matchups.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been a fantasy dud since losing Cooper Kupp (ankle) to injury in Week 2. His last game epitomized his struggles as the once prolific passer went 14-for-23 for 154 yards and an interception against the Las Vegas Raiders, marking the third time Stafford failed to crack double digits in fantasy points this season. Lucky for Stafford, Kupp is off the injury report and will be playing when the Rams kick off Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings, who gave up 280 yards and two touchdowns to Jared Goff last week. Minnesota has allowed 10 passing touchdowns this season and the sixth most passing yards but also leads the league in interceptions (11), making the matchup something of a double-edged sword. The future Hall-of-Famer's recent play has him pegged as a QB2 but with his favorite weapon back in the fold a rebound into top-12 territory isn't out of the question.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 14 of his 23 passes for 154 yards and an interception in a 20-15 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.
Fantasy Spin: Stafford has three touchdow passes and four interceptions on the year, and until the Rams' receiving corps is healthier, Stafford simply can't be used in fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Monday that quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) is "doing great and he's not going to miss any time." Stafford came out of the Week 5 loss to the Green Bay Packers with back soreness but had the bye in Week 6 to heal up properly. Stafford could be listed on this week's injury report, but it sounds like he won't be in danger of missing the Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium. It's good news for Stafford and the Rams, but LA could be without both receivers Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) for yet another week. Nacua won't practice this week and is most likely out, while Kupp is a question mark. The matchup will be a great one for the 36-year-old signal-caller, but without his top receivers, Stafford isn't all that attractive in fantasy as a QB2. Stafford is currently the QB31 at 14.8 fantasy points per game in 2024.
From RotoBaller
Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (back) is unlikely to miss any practice time due to back soreness once the team returns to work after its Week 6 bye, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Fantasy Spin: Stafford has done an exceptional job of keeping the Rams in games despite being without Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua for most of the season, but his fantasy production has taken a hit because of it. As long as the duo remains out, Stafford will be hard-pressed to be anything more than a middling QB2 in fantasy.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (back) is dealing with back soreness but is expected to be available for the Week 7 game.
Fantasy Spin: Stafford has been without his top two receivers for most of the season but may have Cooper Kupp back for Week 7. He only has three touchdowns this season and should only be a possible option in two-quarterback leagues.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) came out of the Week 5 loss to the Green Bay Packers with a sore back, but it shouldn't impact Stafford's availability coming out of the Week 6 bye. It's something to note, but Stafford should be fine to play next against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7 at SoFi Stadium. The 36-year-old definitely has had much more of a challenge putting up points the last several weeks without both of his top receivers, Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee). Through the first five weeks of the 2024 season, Stafford has been the QB25 in fantasy with 1,238 passing yards, only three touchdowns and three interceptions. You aren't getting any rushing production from the aging veteran, either. Stafford isn't guaranteed to have Kupp or Nacua back in Week 7, although the matchup is a nice one at home against Vegas' D.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford came up short in a comeback attempt against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday as they dropped to 1-4 on the season. The former Detroit Lion posted 260 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 29-for-45 throwing. He was sacked three times in this game but made the best of his situation with so many injuries decimating the receiving corps. While Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) remain sidelined, Stafford's ceiling has quite a low cap on it. Fortunately, they head into their bye week in Week 6 to allow some rest ahead of Week 7.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford connected on 29 of his 45 passes for 260 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in a 24-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Oct. 6.
Fantasy Spin: Once again forced to operate without the services of his top two receivers, Stafford was content to work the short and midrange passing game. He was picked off once and was lucky to have a second one go through a defensive back's hands but was otherwise efficient. He's held very little value through five games due to a lack of touchdown passes, but with Cooper Kupp (ankle) targeting a Week 7 return that could change. Stafford is a low-end QB2 right now, but he might be a spot start option as the season progresses.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford hasn't posted the best start to the season in terms of fantasy football, but he continues to rack up yards and completions. Despite clocking in as the QB29, he has the highest completion percentage of his career this season while averaging 244.5 yards per game. This is all while Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) have been out for two and a half of the four weeks so far. In Week 5, Stafford takes on the Green Bay Packers who have given up the 13th-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks with an average of 17.1 per game. For fantasy managers dealing with byes, Stafford could be a sneaky streaming option since the Packers' offense is likely to put up some big points turning this into a shootout.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 224 yards and a pick off 20-for-29 passing in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears. While the signal-caller had another accurate outing, he continued to struggle. It's very apparent the injuries to Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) have significantly decreased Stafford's fantasy potential. With that in mind, he's not an ideal fantasy option for the challenging matchup versus the Packers in Week 5. Keep him out of the starting lineup.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford went 20-for-29 for 224 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.
Fantasy Spin: Stafford has only thrown for two touchdowns this season in part because he has been without his main receivers over the past few games. He likely will post decent numbers next week but probably is only an option in two-quarterback leagues.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford doesn't project as a viable fantasy option this Sunday in the team's road tilt against the Chicago Bears. The veteran signal-caller was able to eclipse the 300-yard mark in Week 1 when he tossed 317 and a score against the Lions in Detroit, but he hasn't produced much since. It isn't shocking, though, considering he's been sans Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) -- his top two options. Since the matchup against Detroit, the 36-year-old has combined for 437 yards and one touchdown -- failing to throw multiple scores in a game or surpass 221 yards. Additionally, Chicago's defense has been one of the better against the pass this season, allowing just 495 yards and two passing touchdowns through the first three weeks. Expect LA to rely heavily on running back Kyren Williams again, with tight end Colby Parkinson and wide receivers Tutu Atwell, Demarcus Robinson, and Tyler Johnson supplementing in the passing game. Despite Los Angeles ranking in the top ten in team pass percentage, the former first-overall pick will be a low-end QB2 for the contest.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was 16-of-25 passing for 221 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in leading the team to a win over the 49ers on Sunday. The veteran quarterback turned in a pretty efficient outing in helping the team to a comeback win but for fantasy purposes, his 13.84 fantasy points put him at QB18 for the week. With Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) ruled out in Week 3, the Rams not surprisingly leaned on Kyren Williams, who had 24 rushing attempts and caught Stafford's TD pass. That limited Stafford's fantasy output as Tutu Atwell led the pass-catchers with four catches for 93 yards. Until Kupp and/or Nacua return, Stafford's fantasy prospects are hazy at best. He needs one or both of those players to boost his totals and touchdown potential and put him on the fantasy radar.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 16 of his 25 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown as the Rams erased a 14-point deficit in a 27-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3.
Fantasy Spin: Altough the Rams picked up the win, Stafford has just two touchdowns in three games. With his two best receivers out with injuries, big stat lines could be tought to come by for the veteran.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is dealing with a decimated wide receiver corps with Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) both out. His top options to throw to on the outside are now Tyler Johnson, Demarcus Robinson, and Tutu Atwell. Stafford had a good Week 1 at Detroit largely because of a big performance from Kupp. Without Kupp for most of Week 2, he struggled at Arizona. Sean McVay and the Rams' coaching staff will have time to come up with a game plan for Stafford and his current receiver group against San Francisco in Week 3 but the offensive focus might rely heavily on running back Kyren Williams. Through two games this season, the 49ers have given up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks but it is tough to trust Stafford without his top two targets. Look for other options this week at the position.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 19 of his 27 passes for 216 yards in a 41-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had a rough afternoon at Arizona after losing his top target Cooper Kupp (ankle) in the team's 41-10 loss on Sunday. Stafford completed 19 of 27 passes for 216 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He did lose a fumble in the game and was sacked five times. With Kupp exiting after four catches for 37 yards on six targets, Stafford found it tough sledding against the Cardinals' defense. The injuries to the Rams' offensive weapons are piling up and it's fair to wonder how the veteran QB will fare without his top two playmakers in Kupp and Puka Nacua (knee). The extent of Kupp's injury is still unknown but he was seen leaving the locker room in a walking boot. It was a disastrous day for the Rams in Arizona so they'll want to put this one behind them and regroup. Sean McVay and his staff will be busy this week figuring out how to get Stafford going with limited weapons.
