2024 RTSports Outlook

Agnew had his best fantasy season to date, but still wasn't much of a help to fantasy teams. He was 96th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He had two games with double-digit fantasy points. Agnew did top 20 receptions for the second straight seasons. He also had a career high in rush attempts, running 12 times for 86 yards. Most of his value still comes on special teams, though. Agnew is one of the better return men in football. He should continue to play a depth role at receiver, getting some weekly work, but get most of his playing time on special teams. Agnew has good speed and moves in space. His route running and hands have improved since entering the league.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Agnew might have reached his ceiling last year, but could at least match those numbers. He still has more value in leagues that reward return yardage. If you aren't in one of those leagues, don't bother.

Player Notes
Jan 6 2:43pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew (leg) was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, Jan. 6.

From TheHuddle

Jan 1 2:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that wide receiver Jamal Agnew (leg) suffered a lower-leg fracture in the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers and will miss the rest of the season. Agnew caught both of his targets for 53 yards in the 26-0 win before suffering the major injury. The Jaguars receiving depth is extremely thin heading into a must-win Week 18 game against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Christian Kirk (core) is already out for the year, and Zay Jones (hamstring, knee) just missed his eighth game of the year this past Sunday. The 28-year-old Agnew finishes the year with only 14 receptions for 225 yards and one touchdown. If Jones cannot return in Week 18, rookie Parker Washington and Elijah Cooks will see more opportunities in the passing game behind Calvin Ridley and tight end Evan Engram.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew (leg) suffered a lower leg fracture and is out for the remainder of the season, according to sources Monday, Jan. 1.

From TheHuddle

Dec 31 7:13pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew had two receptions for 53 yards on his two targets in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers, including one catch for 48 yards.

From TheHuddle

Dec 31 2:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew (ankle) exited during the first half of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers and is officially questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had caught two passes for 53 yards. Jacksonville is already shorthanded at wide receiver with Christian Kirk (core) and Zay Jones (hamstring, knee) sidelined, so losing Agnew is far from ideal. In his absence, Parker Washington should earn more snaps alongside Calvin Ridley.

From RotoBaller

Dec 18 1:00am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew caught two passes for 70 yards and a touchdown vs. the Ravens on Sunday night. Agnew primarily operates as a punt returner with the occasional gadget usage on offense, and he was able to take advantage of the few snaps he received by breaking a 65-yard touchdown in the third quarter. This score was unfortunately Jacksonville's only one of the day, with Baltimore completely stymying any flow that started to develop. Because of his low usage, Agnew is not on any fantasy radars outside of pretty deep leagues, but it was great to see him help this anemic-looking offense put up some points.

Dec 17 11:43pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew caught two passes for 70 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown, in a 23-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 7:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew (ribs/shoulder) will play on Sunday night against the Ravens. The wideout hasn't been available since suffering rib and shoulder injuries in the Week 10 meeting with the San Francisco 49ers. The 28-year-old has only nine catches for 90 yards in eight games this season, so his presence won't directly impact fantasy managers. Instead, he'll get most of his work on special teams as a return man.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 2:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew (shoulder) has been activated from injured reserve after being limited in practice his past week. He's officially questionable to suit up against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but his activation to the 53-man roster suggests that he's good to go. As the No. 3 wide receiver behind Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones, Agnew is off the fantasy radar for the time being.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 1:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew (shoulder, ribs) was activated off injured reserve on Saturday, Dec. 16. Also, QB Nathan Rourke was waived and TE Josh Pederson was elevated for Week 15.

From TheHuddle

Dec 16 12:40am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jamal Agnew (ribs/shoulder) was designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday and was able to log a limited practice every day this week. Agnew injured his ribs and shoulder in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers and missed the four games since while on injured reserve. He is questionable to play in Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens. Primarily used as a kick returner, Agnew has seen just 12 targets on the year and made nine catches for 90 receiving yards. Even in leagues that count return yards Agnew has mixed appeal. The Ravens have allowed the seventh-most punt return yards to opponents this season, but on the other hand 66 of Justin Tucker's 76 kickoffs this season have resulted in touchbacks. Agnew is not fantasy relevant for the time being.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jamal Agnew (shoulder, ribs) was designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Spin: With Christian Kirk out for the season, he could figure in to the offensive plans. If you're in a deep league or have a void to fill, stash him.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 10:50am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver/return specialist Jamal Agnew (ribs/shoulder) suffered a shoulder and rib injury in the Week 10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, which landed him on the Injured Reserve list. On Wednesday, the Jaguars designated him to return from IR, meaning he can begin practicing this week. While Agnew hasn't had much of a role on offense during his career, he's been a game-changing punt and kick returner. Christian Kirk (core) is also on Injured Reserve, so Agnew could see additional work on offense. For now, he's not on the fantasy radar.
