Houston Texans rookie running back Woody Marks looked like the team's lead back in an impressive comeback victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10, handling a season-high 60 offensive snaps and 16 touches. Marks went for 81 scrimmage yards and a touchdown against the Jags. The Texans have used a RB-by-committee approach this year with Marks and Nick Chubb with Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) still sidelined. Chubb only saw 10 snaps against the Jags, though, his lowest in a game since joining the Texans. It was the first time Marks earned more carries than Chubb (14 to five) in three games and just the second time all year. Fantasy managers with Marks rostered were glad to see it, but it may not be the norm, with offensive coordinator Nick Caley saying the uptick in touches for Marks was "more spontaneous than predetermined," per the Houston Chronicle's Sam Warren. Still, Marks the better upside RB in fantasy, and he could go off again against the Titans this weekend after going for a season-high 17 carries, 69 yards, and a touchdown against them on Sept. 28, also adding four catches for 50 yards and another TD.

Nov 11 9:10am CT

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks has continued to play in a larger role in the team's timeshare in recent weeks, and he found the end zone again on Sunday against the Jaguars. Marks took 14 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown while also adding two catches for 18 more yards. Nick Chubb only had five carries but managed 47 yards. Marks has done most of the work on passing downs and played a season-high 80% of snaps in Week 10, since he team played from behind against the Jaguars. Marks will continue to share time with Chubb going forward, including in Week 11 against the Titans. If the Texans play from ahead, Chubb could get more of an even split, but Marks still has a very high ceiling in the favorable matchup against Tennessee and is a great addition if he's still on the waiver wire in your leagues.

Nov 7 9:10pm CT

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks could be poised to be the focus of the offense in Week 10 against the Jaguars in the absence of C.J. Stroud (concussion). Marks has been getting more snaps than his fellow running back, Nick Chubb, over the past several games, outsnapping Chubb in four of his last five games. Last week, he struggled to just 27 rushing yards on 10 carries and didn't have any catches against a tough Denver defense that knocked Stroud out of the game. Marks had been productive as a rusher and receiver in his previous games, posting double-digit PPR points in three of four weeks with three touchdowns during that span. He brings a very high ceiling, but there is also a high risk of him busting if the offense can't get going. He's the No. 29 RB in RotoBaller's rankings, making him a high-risk, high-reward flex play this week.

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks (calf) was limited in practice this week but does not have an injury designation for Week 9's matchup against the Broncos. Marks had a massive breakthrough performance in Week 4 with 69 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, and a pair of touchdowns. He took a back seat to Nick Chubb in Week 5's blowout win, but he has been productive in an even timeshare with Chubb in the last two weeks. Marks can produce excellent receiving yards and PPR production when he's at his best, and has scored two of his touchdowns through the air. Last week, he also had one of his best rushing games with 62 rushing yards on his 11 carries. Marks has a tough matchup against the Broncos this week, but he's still the RB25, showing he's a solid RB3 or flex option even against the strong Denver defense.

Oct 31 4:50pm CT

Houston Texans rookie running back Woody Marks (calf) popped up on the Week 9 injury report with a calf injury, but he returned to a full practice on Friday and has been cleared to face the visiting Denver Broncos this Sunday in Week 9. Marks was limited by his calf injury on Thursday, but it's obviously nothing serious enough to keep him from suiting up this weekend. The 24-year-old has seen his usage increase out of Houston's backfield the last two weeks, and he has a total of 146 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 28 touches in the last two games. Veteran Nick Chubb is still the team's preferred option on early downs, but Marks has had a raised floor in point-per-reception leagues of late due to his involvement in the passing game out of the backfield. Fantasy managers should consider him an acceptable RB3/flex play in PPR leagues this weekend against Denver.

Oct 30 5:10pm CT

Houston Texans rookie running back Woody Marks (calf) popped up on the Week 9 injury report on Thursday and was listed as a limited practice participant. Mid-week additions to the injury report are usually not a good sign, but we should have a better idea of Marks' status for Week 9 against the Denver Broncos on Sunday after the Texans release their final injury report for the week on Friday. The 24-year-old has become a bigger part of the team's offense in recent weeks, especially in the passing game, making him an RB3/flex consideration in PPR formats. However, he's now looking questionable to play this weekend after popping up on the injury report with his calf injury. If Marks cannot play on Sunday, or if he's limited, it would mean more work for veteran Nick Chubb out of the backfield. Dare Ogunbowale would be in line for RB2 duties as well.

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks led the team with 62 rushing yards on his 11 carries in Week 8 against the 49ers, outproducing Nick Chubb, who had 56 rushing yards on 17 carries. Marks also added four catches for 49 yards, hauling in all four of his targets in the Texans' balanced passing game. Marks and Chubb split time almost evenly in the Week 8 victory, with Chubb playing 35 snaps and Marks 32 snaps. While Chubb still has a grasp on early-down work and clock-killing responsibility, Marks is the preferred option in passing situations. In Week 7 against Seattle, he out-snapped Chubb 48-to-19 based on the game script of Houston having to play catch-up against the Seahawks. Both running backs will continue to get work, but Marks is definitely worth a look on the waiver wire since he's a dynamic playmaker getting enough work to be a flex consideration, and he has a high ceiling when he gets the work, as he has shown in several games this season.

Oct 25 8:20am CT

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks had a monster game in Week 4 that made him one of the hottest names on the waiver wire market. He had a down game in Week 5 before his bye week, though, causing many to question his role going forward. When the Texans returned on Monday in Seattle, he only had 15 rushing yards on 10 carries but did add three catches for 20 receiving yards and a touchdown. Even more encouraging for his value, he played a season-high 63% of snaps, compared to just 25% of snaps for Nick Chubb. Part of that could have been due to the game script with the Texans playing from behind, but it seems like the rookie is gaining more work in the timeshare. Marks has good upside against the 49ers in Week 8 as a flex play. He is ranked as the No. 27 RB in RotoBaller's rankings for this week, making him a RB3 or flex option against the 49ers, who have allowed seven running back touchdowns in seven games on the season, including five in the last three games.

Oct 21 7:50am CT

Houston Texans running back Woods Marks led the backfield in carries on Monday Night Football, and even though he wasn't very efficient, he saved his fantasy day with a late touchdown as a receiver. Marks played 61% of snaps and had 10 of the team's 15 running back carries against the Seahawks. He only had 15 rushing yards on those 10 carries, though, while C.J. Stroud led the team with 25 rushing yards on his two carries. Marks found the end zone on one of his three catches on five targets for 20 receiving yards. While his rushing total is disappointing, his workload is a positive sign moving forward that the fourth-round pick from USC maintains his role in the timeshare. Nick Chubb will still get early down work, but Marks seems to be the go-to option on passing downs and brings nice RB2 upside as a result. The Texans are home next week against the 49ers.

Oct 18 4:30pm CT

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks had a breakthrough game in Week 4, dominating the Titans for 69 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, and a pair of touchdowns. He looked every bit the part of an every-down feature back, but then against the Ravens in Week 5, he only had 24 yards on seven carries and no catches, while Nick Chubb took back over the lead role. After the team's bye week, Marks has the potential to emerge as the top option this week against the Seahawks in Seattle for Monday Night Football's late game. He has shown a very high ceiling, but he remains a risky flex or RB3 option since his workload is uncertain from week to week. He's high-risk but also brings a very high ceiling as the RB33 in RotoBaller's Week 7 rankings.

Oct 18 11:10am CT

The Houston Texans are looking to establish the run in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks. Through five games, Houston ranks 16th in rushing offense, but with Nick Chubb and rookie Woody Marks both running well, that number could rise soon. Over the past three weeks, Chubb and Marks have split snaps nearly evenly, with the rookie holding a slight edge (49% to 43%). Coming out of the bye, there's reason to believe Marks could see an uptick in touches, following a trend seen with other rookies following the team's bye week. That said, the Seahawks boast one of the league's top run defenses, making this a tough matchup for both backs. Still, Chubb and Marks each carry FLEX appeal in Week 7, with Marks offering the higher ceiling due to his growing role.

Oct 8 5:10pm CT

ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that the Houston Texans still view rookie running back Woody Marks as "predominantly a passing-game back," and one who "had a bit of an injury history in college." It was looking like Marks was taking over the backfield from veteran Nick Chubb when he had a season-high 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown while adding four catches for 50 yards and another TD in the Week 4 win against the Tennessee Titans. However, he was a disappointment in last week's blowout win over the Baltimore Ravens, handling seven carries for 24 yards and failing to reel in his only pass-game target. It means that when Houston is up big, like they were in Baltimore, Chubb will continue to have the playing-time advantage. Marks is still worth rostering in all fantasy leagues, but his backfield takeover in Houston appears to be a little premature.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 12:10pm CT

Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that the usage of running backs Nick Chubb and Woody Marks is game-plan dependent and also depends on the flow of the game, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Running backs coach Danny Barrett also has a lot of input on the usage between the two backs. After playing a season-high 56% of the offensive snaps in last week's win over the Tennessee Titans, Marks dropped down to 39% in the blowout win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Marks' fantasy managers were probably hoping for a lot more against the Ravens' depleted defense, especially in a blowout. The rookie had seven carries for 24 yards, while Chubb finished with 11 carries for a team-high 61 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Chubb and Marks will continue to move forward in a timeshare and will be RB3/flex plays in fantasy, with Marks offering fantasy managers more upside and big-play ability.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 9:00am CT

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks had a breakout week last week in his team's victory over the Titans, and he looks to further establish himself as a regular fantasy option to count on in this week's favorable matchup against the Ravens. Marks stepped into a larger role with his snapshare climbing to 56% in Week 4, and he delivered 69 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while adding a second touchdown and 50 receiving yards on four catches out of the backfield as well. He has the potential to emerge as the clear No. 1 option in the backfield ahead of Nick Chubb, and his third-down abilities give him both a high ceiling and a high floor. Marks is in a great matchup against the Ravens this week, who have been the best matchup of the season for running backs. He is the No. 18 RB in RotoBaller's rankings and is a strong RB2 with RB1 upside this Sunday.
