2024 RTSports Outlook

Osborn had his second straight solid season, finishing 45th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He had 60 receptions for 650 yards and five touchdowns. He was a consistent option in Vikings passing attack, serving as the third receiver most weeks. He had five games with double-digit fantasy points. He had a few big games as well, having double-digit receptions in Week 15. Osborn could play an even bigger role this coming season, being the favorite to start opposite Justin Jefferson. Osborn can stretch the field because of his speed and athleticism. He can be a top deep threat. He needs work on his route running, but is showing improvement in that area. He catches the ball well and can do well after the catch.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Osborn could see his production improve even more this year. He still shouldn't be considered a top fantasy option, but could be a solid No. 3 if all goes well for him. He could get around 75 receptions for 900 yards and seven touchdowns.

The New England Patriots have agreed to terms on a deal with wide receiver K.J. Osborn on Sunday. The two sides have agreed on a one-year deal for the upcoming 2024 campaign. The former fifth-round pick has made a name for himself over the last few seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Most recently, Osborn finished with 48 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns during the 2023 season. He has been a viable option to the Vikings offense and should give a boost to the Pats receiver room. He'll be stuck competing for snaps with Kendrick Bourne, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Demario Douglas this upcoming season.

Jan 8 1:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn was quiet in the final game of the regular season in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Detroit Lions, catching just two passes for nine yards on his four targets. It was an improvement over his zero-target game in Week 17, but it was still a weak performance for the 26-year-old to wrap up the season. It was also a step back from his two previous campaigns, as he finished with 48 catches on 75 targets for only 540 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games played. We knew Osborn was going to be on the backburner in 2023 when the Vikings took Jordan Addison in the first round to pair with Justin Jefferson as a lethal 1-2 punch at wideout. Osborn will enter free agency in March, and his 2024 fantasy value will be determined by where he lands.

From RotoBaller

Jan 1 12:40pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn was not targeted at all in the 33-10 loss on Sunday night against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. Osborn played 62 percent of the offensive snaps but really had no chance in a game in which the Packers defense pretty much completely shut down Minnesota's offense. It was especially disappointing after Osborn had five catches on seven targets for 95 yards and his third touchdown of the year in last week's loss to the Detroit Lions. But with rookie first-rounder Jordan Addison (ankle) playing after getting injured in Week 16, Osborn disappeared. The 26-year-old cannot be trusted in starting fantasy lineups in the Week 18 regular season finale in a rematch against the Lions in Detroit.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 5:00pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn could find himself in a larger role in Week 17 with T.J. Hockenson (knee) sidelined and Jordan Addison (ankle) questionable for the team's matchup with the Packers. Osborn caught five of seven targets for 95 yards and a score last week against the Lions, but he will be catching passes from rookie quarterback Jaren Hall in this one as Nick Mullens heads to the bench. Osborn will be at best a FLEX option in this one, but if Addison is active then he will be an extremely risky player to slot into lineups during championship weekend.

From RotoBaller

Dec 25 1:10pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn reeled in five of his seven targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the team's 30-24 Week 16 loss to the Detroit Lions. Osborn saw an increase in usage as both wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) and tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) left the game and did not return. Osborn has been a shaky fantasy play so far this season, but would potentially see a bigger role if both Addison and Hockenson can't suit up for the team's Week 17 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. If neither Addison nor Hockenson plays, Osborn can be viewed as a potential WR3 option.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 8:00pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn had four catches for just 15 yards in the narrow win over Vegas on Sunday. Justin Jefferson (chest) was ruled out early in the contest, so Osborn had more catches than the other Vikings' receivers. Of course, the 26-year-old hasn't been the most consistent fantasy option all season. But considering Jefferson may not play in Week 15 versus the Bengals, Osborn deserves attention as a streaming option for those participating in deeper formats, especially since he was targeted seven times on Sunday.

From RotoBaller

Nov 28 12:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn secured three of his four targets for 34 yards in Monday night's upsetting 12-10 loss to the division-rival Chicago Bears to close out Week 12 action. This was Osborn's last chance for an elevated role in Minnesota's passing attack, but the Vikings offense struggled mightily all night against an inspired Bears defense. It didn't help that quarterback Joshua Dobbs was not on his game and had four interceptions. Minnesota will now go on their bye and All-Pro wideout Justin Jefferson (hamstring) will return from Injured Reserve in Week 14 to face the Las Vegas Raiders. It means that Osborn will be pushed further down the receiving pecking order. He can be dropped in 12-team redraft leagues at this point.

From RotoBaller

Nov 25 6:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn could once again be in for an important role in the Minnesota passing game as Justin Jefferson (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday night. Osborn struggled in his first game back from a concussion in Week 11, as he caught just one pass on two targets for seven yards. The speedy wideout figures to be third in line for targets even if Jefferson is inactive, as rookie wideout Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson figure to be the focal point of the Minnesota passing attack. Not to mention, Osborn hasn't had much of a chance to build a rapport with his new quarterback Joshua Dobbs, so fantasy managers should treat the 26-year-old as nothing more than a dart throw versus the Bears in Week 12.

Nov 20 1:50pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn suffered a concussion in Week 9 and was forced to miss the Week 10 win over the New Orleans Saints, but he returned on Sunday night in Week 11 to face the Denver Broncos, only to catch one of his two targets for a seven-yard gain. It was the 26-year-old's worst performance of the season, and it's not like he wasn't on the field at all, as he played 71 of a possible 75 offensive snaps across from rookie wideout Jordan Addison. All-Pro pass-catcher Justin Jefferson (hamstring) could come off Injured Reserve to play in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears on Monday night on Nov. 27, which would push Osborn even further down the receiver pecking order in Minnesota.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 7:10pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn has cleared concussion protocol and will play in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos. The 26-year-old wide receiver has been removed from the team's final injury report after missing Week 10 with a concussion and is ready to go for Sunday. Star receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday so it would put a significant damper on Osborn's fantasy prospects if he returns. If Jefferson ends up being inactive then Osborn is in play as a FLEX option in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 10:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (concussion) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday. Osborn had to be carted off the field in Week 9 with his concussion and missed the Week 10 win over the New Orleans Saints. However, with two full practices under his belt already this week, Osborn is now expected to make his return this Sunday night against the Denver Broncos on the road. The 26-year-old still needs to be officially cleared from the league's concussion protocol before being allowed to play in Week 11. Even if Osborn is active against Denver, he'll be hard to trust as a WR4/flex in fantasy lineups if Justin Jefferson (hamstring) makes his return from Injured Reserve, as is expected.

Nov 15 5:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (concussion) practiced in full on Wednesday and is expected to be cleared to play in Week 11's Sunday night affair in Denver against the Broncos. "A big piece of our offense," head coach Kevin O'Connell said. Osborn had to be carted off the field in Week 9 after suffering a concussion and was unable to play in the Week 10 victory over the New Orleans Saints. The 26-year-old saw an expanded role with Justin Jefferson (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, but he won't be as attractive as a deep-league streamer this Sunday against Denver if Jefferson makes his return after a five-game absence.

From RotoBaller

Nov 12 11:50am ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (head) has officially been ruled out for the Week 10 contest against the New Orleans Saints, as expected. Osborn cleared the league's concussion protocol, but he will be held out for this one after suffering a scary head injury on a helmet-to-helmet hit in the Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings are still without All-Pro wideout Justin Jefferson (hamstring) for one more game, so rookie first-rounder Jordan Addison and Brandon Powell will serve as Minnesota's top two pass-catchers in quarterback Joshua Dobbs' first start for the Vikings. Expect tight end T.J. Hockenson to also be heavily targeted in the passing game. Osborn should have a good shot to return in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos.

Nov 12 8:50am ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (head) is not expected to play in Week 10 versus the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. While Osborn cleared concussion protocol, the team listed him as questionable amidst lingering concerns following his severe collision one week earlier. Now, Werder reports that the receiver will be inactive, calling it a "coach-player decision." With Osborn out and T.J. Hockenson (rib) playing limited snaps, Jordan Addison could have a huge game. Brandon Powell also puts himself on the fantasy radar in deep leagues.

Nov 12 8:30am ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (head) cleared concussion protocol but remains questionable ahead of Sunday's game versus the New Orleans Saints. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Vikings want to be cautious given he took a "significant hit" last week. The Vikings will treat Osborn like any player listed as questionable by running him through a series of pre-game tests. At this point, it sounds like he is a true game-time decision. If active, Osborn would warrant consideration as a low-end FLEX play.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 2:40pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receivers Justin Jefferson (hamstring) and K.J. Osborn (concussion) are both listed as questionable to play in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings opened up Jefferson's 21-day window to return from Injured Reserve this week, but head coach Kevin O'Connell then pumped the brakes on the 24-year-old All-Pro wideout returning this weekend. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Jefferson to return this weekend, but he'll have a great chance to be back in Week 11. Osborn returned to a limited practice this week after a scary head injury that he suffered in the Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He has yet to clear the league's concussion protocol, though, putting him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 10. Rookie Jordan Addison and Brandon Powell will have higher fantasy ceiling if both Jefferson and Osborn are out, as is expected.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 1:20am ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (concussion) was a limited participant at practice on Thursday. It doesn't sound like Osborn has yet passed each step of the concussion protocol after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons, but a limited session casts some level of optimism on his Week 10 status versus the New Orleans Saints. The 26-year-old slot man brought in both of targets for 17 yards before going down last Sunday, and he could maintain some low-end WR3/flex appeal against New Orleans with Justin Jefferson's (hamstring) return in doubt. Osborn will need to stay active on Friday, though, if he wants a good chance of suiting up. Brandon Powell would likely serve as quarterback Joshua Dobbs' No. 2 wideout if Osborn cannot receive the green light.

From RotoBaller

Nov 8 5:40pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (concussion) was diagnosed with a concussion after a scary injury in the Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons. It appears he's still in the league's concussion protocol, too, as he didn't practice with the team on Wednesday. It puts his status firmly in doubt for Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints. And with Justin Jefferson (hamstring) unlikely to return from Injured Reserve just yet, it means that Brandon Powell could be asked to serve as the No. 2 receiver behind rookie Jordan Addison against a tough defense. Jalen Nailor (hamstring) is practicing in full and could be activated from Injured Reserve to give Minnesota more pass-catching depth with Osborn injured. Given how bad Osborn's injury looked this past Sunday, we'd be surprised if he's out there in Week 10.

From RotoBaller

Nov 5 7:10pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (head) suffered a concussion during Sunday's narrow win over the Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old, who ranks fourth on the team in catches and receiving yards, took a nasty shot in the first half. He was down for a few minutes before eventually being taken off the field on a cart. Although Minnesota earned a victory, it's certainly not an ideal scenario, considering the team was already without Kirk Cousins (Achilles) and Justin Jefferson (hamstring). Even worse, there is fear Cam Akers (Achilles) is done for the year. At any rate, if Osborne can't play in Week 10 against the Saints, it should mean more targets for T.J. Hockenson and Jordan Addison. At the same time, Brandon Powell would draw interest from fantasy managers looking for an option off waivers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 5 2:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn (concussion) was carted off the field after suffering a serious injury during the first half of Week 9 versus the Atlanta Falcons. Osborn was on the receiving end of multiple concurrent hits from Atlanta defenders and was briefly motionless on the ground. Players from both teams were quite emotional as trainers attended to the 26-year-old. Fortunately, after some time, he was able to stand up and walk to the medical cart, which transported him to the locker room where he was officially declared "out" for the remainder of the game. He finishes Sunday's contest with two catches and 17 yards. Brandon Powell will see more opportunities as the Vikings' No. 2 receiver behind Jordan Addison.
