With San Francisco 49ers wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings on the roster, The Athletic's Matt Barrows and David Lombardi write that it's hard to envision rookie first-rounder Ricky Pearsall having a bi role in his rookie campaign in 2024. Pearsall can also return punts, but so does veteran Trent Taylor and fourth-rounder Jacob Cowing, so Pearsall will have to beat them both out to return punts this year. However, if there are any injuries to Aiyuk, Samuel or Jennings, Pearsall could be a major factor in San Fran's offense. The selection of the young receiver late in the first round seemed to be more of a pick for 2025 than for this year. Pearsall will probably need a year to adjust to the demands of the position, so he'll merely be a late-round flier for fantasy managers in rookie-only dynasty drafts this fall.

Dynasty | The San Francisco 49ers drafted Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Dynasty Analysis: A major pre-draft riser, Pearsall ended up going late in round one to the San Francisco 49ers. It ends a crazy period where his workouts and a final review of his tape truly put Pearsall on the map. This is a great landing spot for him as well as it looks like the futures of both Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk could be in question. While some patience may be needed here, Pearsall will be used creatively in the offense and his draft stock should rise all the way up to the second round as a result.

New England Patriots director of scouting Eliot Wolf said he doesn't think the team currently has a wide receiver that "can beat the backside coverage every single time." The Patriots are most likely to draft their quarterback of the future with the No. 3 overall pick, but they could pair him with a receiver with their next pick at No. 34 overall. ESPN's Field Yates believes South Carolina's Xavier Legette, Florida State's Keon Coleman or Florida's Ricky Pearsall could all be good fits. Legette caught 71 passes for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns last year and "has some of the best run-after-catch skills in the class," according to Yates. Coleman's size (6-foot-3, 213 pounds) makes him a top red-zone performer. Pearsall caught 65 passes for 965 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.

Dynasty | Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall seems to be on his way up in terms of rookie draft stock. Dynasty Analysis: Pearsall measures in at 6-1 and 189 pounds, then he posted a 42 inch vertical and ran a 4.41 in the 40, raising some eyebrows in the process. Pearsall posted a solid 65/965/4 line last year but his metrics show he may have some more potential at the next level. After a solid Senior Bowl week and a great combine week, Pearsall is rising on our rookie rankings as well. Be sure he's on your mid-round list for your upcoming rookie drafts.
