Collins had a breakout season, finishing 12th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He even missed two games be cause of injury, so his numbers could have been even better. The addition of C.J. Stroud was huge for Collins, forming a rapport with the young quarterback quickly. Collins averaged 16.2 yards per reception and finished just three receiving yards shy of 1,300. Collins had 11 of 15 games with double-digit fantasy points. He had three games with 30-plus points. Collins led all of receivers in broken tackles with 16. He also dropped just two passes, catching nearly everything thrown his way. Collins will continue to be a top option in the Texans passing game but now has Stefon Diggs starting alongside him. This might take away some of his targets for the coming season. Collins is a big receiver with good size and speed. He is a good route runner that gets off the line well because of his strength. He can be a tough cover. Injuries are a concern after missing plenty of action each of his first three seasons in the NFL.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Collins showed last year he can be an elite fantasy receiver. He can do more of the same this year, especially if he can play a full season. Collins is capable of being a top-10 fantasy receiver but the arrival of Diggs clouds things a little for Collins. This might limit his ceiling a little. But even with that said, he can get 90 receptions for 1,300 yard and double-digit scores.
Following an injury-riddled first two seasons in the league, Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins broke out in 2023. In 14 full games, the 6-foot-4 receiver caught 80 of his 109 targets for 1,297 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. As a result of this dominant season, Collins finished seventh among all WRs in half-PPR fantasy PPG. The Michigan product proved he can be a number-one option on a high-powered offense. Collins almost strictly played on the outside last season. This should not be expected to change as Texans' newly acquired star receiver Stefon Diggs and second-year explosive playmaker Tank Dell rotate in the slot. Not only do the counting stats do Collins justice -- but the advanced metrics further prove his elite status. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Collins had the highest passer rating when targeted last season, along with the second-most yards per route run, and ranked third in yards-after-catch per reception among all receivers. The 25-year-old currently projects as a late second/early third-round pick in best-ball and redraft leagues. You should confidently draft Collins in the second round of all leagues and be comfortable with him as your WR1.

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins was recently in the running for the league's top wide receivers. This is a well deserved mention after Collins put together a breakout campaign last season. He hauled in 80 receptions for nearly 1,300 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games. This performance earned him a three-year, $72 million extension this offseason. Collins is now one of the highest-paid players at his position. Recently, NFL executives, coaches, and personnel members were surveyed to determine the best wideouts in the league. Collins fell short but was an honorable mention. It's pretty impressive to see Collins up there after one outstanding campaign. It'll be interesting to see if Collins can replicate it with Stefon Diggs competing with him for targets next season.

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (shoulder) is expected to be ready for the beginning of training camp. Collins has been sidelined throughout the spring while he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. He's coming off a season where he recorded 80 receptions, 1,297 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns in 15 games. It was a breakout campaign that earned him a three-year, $72 million extension in the offseason. The hope is that Collins can build off his 2023 campaign after undergoing successful surgery. However, Collins could lose targets with Stefon Diggs coming to town. Collins will be stuck fighting for targets with Diggs and Tank Dell (ankle) who is making his way back from injury. Despite that, Collins should still be able to hold WR2 value heading into fantasy drafts.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud gave wide receiver Nico Collins some high praise at this week's mandatory minicamp, comparing him to Hall of Famer and former Texan Andre Johnson. "[Collins is] a generational talent. He's like our age's Andre Johnson, in my opinion," Stroud said. "Just how fast he is, how he gets in and out of his braces, releases, how strong he is. I think last year was just a preview of what's to come for him." Collins had a career year in 2023, going for 1,297 receiving yards on 80 receptions (109 targets) and eight touchdowns in 15 regular season games (10 starts). The 1,297 yards rank eighth in the team's single-season record books, and his eight touchdowns are tied for fifth. The Texans rewarded Collins with a three-year, $72.5 million extension, but he could have a tough time replicating those numbers in 2024 with Stefon Diggs now in town in Houston.

Dynasty | The Texans have signed wide receiver Nico Collins to a contract extension. Dynasty Analysis: It's a three-year, $72.75 million extension that includes $52 million guaranteed. If there was any doubt about what Houston thought of Collins, this erases all of that as he gets a pretty tidy sum of money. Houston clearly thinks Collins and CJ Stroud have a special connection and Collins will now look to build on his 80/1,297/8 breakout season. As our WR21, there is still some runway for a value bump and he could actually be a "buy low" candidate should dynasty managers continue to believe his season can't be replicated with a healthy Tank Dell and newly added Stefon Diggs in the fold.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans and wide receiver Nico Collins agreed on a three-year, $72.75 million extension. The wideout, who will make $52 million in guaranteed cash on his new deal, had a breakout season in 2023-24, amassing 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns. While Houston added Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon to the equation, two players who will command targets during the 2024-25 campaign, Collins remains a viable fantasy option in any format, considering the Texans could be one of the NFL's highest-scoring offenses.

Dynasty | The Texans have voided the final three years in Stefon Diggs' contract. Dynasty Analysis: In a very unusual procedural move, the Texans wiped out the final three years of his contract and moved more guaranteed money to this season, meaning Diggs will make more than $22 million in what amounts to being a one-year rental for Houston. It's a gamble for the Texans but one that should also motivate Diggs, who is now going to get paid handsomely for one season in Houston as he attempts to prove he's worthy of one more long-term contract in Houston or elsewhere. This doesn't change much, other than the narrative that Nico Collins or Tank Dell are somehow hurt long-term by this trade.
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins made it known that he'd be open to contract-extension talks if the team approached him. After three seasons in the NFL, Collins is now eligible for an extension. He'll be entering the final year of his four-year, $4.871 million rookie contract in 2024, which includes a $902,990 signing bonus and a base salary of $1.324 million this year. "Oh man, I would love that," Collins said when asked about potentially launching early contract discussions. "That would be great." Coming off a breakthrough 2023 campaign in which he caught 80 passes for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 regular-season games, Collins will be in high demands in fantasy drafts this fall while paired with impressive young quarterback C.J. Stroud. In two playoff games, Collins had 11 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets.
