Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift posted another solid season in 2025, recording 1,386 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns on 257 touches across 16 games. Swift has quietly been one of the NFL's most consistent backs in recent years, recording at least 1,250 scrimmage yards and missing just two contests over his past three campaigns. However, Swift may find himself competing for the RB1 role in Chicago in 2026 with fellow Bears running back Kyle Monangai. A seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Monangai racked up 947 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns across 17 games played as a rookie. Down the stretch of the 2025 season, Swift and Monangai split backfield work relatively evenly, with neither back playing fewer than 40% or greater than 60% of the team's offensive snaps in any game between Week 12 and Week 18. Swift is entering his age-27 season and will be a free agent after the 2026 campaign, so Chicago could be looking at Monangai as its running back of the future. Bears head coach Ben Johnson has proven an ability to support fantasy production for two backs throughout his time as an NFL play-caller. Still, fantasy managers may want to prepare for a decrease in Swift's workload in 2026 and beyond.

Jan 15 5:00pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift was one of the stars of his team's Wild-Card win over the Green Bay Packers, recording 92 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 15 touches. Swift and Bears rookie back Kyle Monangai split playing time nearly evenly, with Swift earning 39 snaps and Monangai 36. However, Swift was the more productive player of the two, as Monangai was held to 49 scrimmage yards on nine touches. Chicago is now set to host the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs. The Rams' run defense performed well during the regular season, but allowed three rushing touchdowns to the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card round. Swift profiles as the priority player in the Bears' backfield for fantasy managers in the Divisional round against Los Angeles.

Jan 7 10:00am ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift was one of fantasy football's best running back picks in the mid rounds, as he finished the 2025 season as the RB15, and rushed for 1,087 yards on 223 attempts (4.87 YPC) and added 34 receptions for 299 yards in the receiving game as well. As the season progressed, the Rutgers rookie running back, Kyle Monangai, started to make an impact, and the Bears' backfield became more of a running-back-by-committee approach, leaving Swift managers frustrated. However, in his somewhat limited workload down the stretch, Swift still was averaging closer to 60 percent of the snaps to Monangai's 40, and is still the clear lead back averaging 14.4 fantasy points per game on the season, and with the Bears in their first playoff game with second-year quarterback Caleb Williams, and first time head coach Ben Johnson, it's likely they will make an emphasis to try and run the ball effectively against a depleted Packers defense who last Micah Parson's (knee) for the season. The Bears are underdogs (+1) in this contest, but have shown all season that they can win close games. Although Swift is not one of the top running back options to own in fantasy payoff leagues, he is a solid option and would only become more valuable if the Bears can continue to advance in the playoffs.

Dec 27 4:50pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift had 13 carries for 58 yards and added 12 yards on two receptions in the 22-16 overtime win over the Green Bay Packers. After lighting up the Cleveland Browns in Week 15, Swift struggled, posting his second-lowest fantasy output this season. With the Bears adopting an RB-by-committee approach featuring seventh-round rookie Kyle Monangai, Swift's production has been inconsistent in recent weeks. Swift and Monangai have been fairly split since the Week 5 bye, but with the Bears running the ball effectively under Ben Johnson, both backs carry fantasy value moving forward. He faces a 49ers defense that has ranked in the middle of the pack against the run this season. With the current landscape in this Bears backfield, Swift will be hit or miss in Week 17.

Dec 20 7:30pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin) is officially active for Saturday's Week 16 contest against the Green Bay Packers. He had been listed as questionable after practicing in a limited capacity. Although rookie running back Kyle Monangai has carved out a consistent role in Chicago's offense this season, Swift remains the Bears' primary option out of the backfield. Over his last three games, the 26-year-old has totaled 54 touches, 351 scrimmage yards, and three touchdowns. Swift remains a must-start fantasy running back ahead of Saturday's divisional battle with the Packers. He's a high-end RB2 with RB1 upside.

Dec 18 3:30pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin) popped up on the Week 16 injury report on Wednesday and is now listed as questionable to play in another big divisional game against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Swift was limited on Wednesday and Thursday after not being listed at all on Tuesday. The 26-year-old should be on the right side of questionable this weekend, but if he ends up not playing, rookie Kyle Monangai would be a must-start, plug-and-play option for fantasy football managers against Green Bay. If Swift does get the green light to play in Week 16, he'll be a more risky RB3/flex option and potentially give up valuable backfield touches to Monangai, who has been more involved in Chicago's backfield in the second half of the season. In the first game against the Packers on Dec. 7, Swift had 13 carries for 63 yards and caught three of his four targets for 19 yards. He's the RB13 on the year with 14.0 half-PPR points per game.

Dec 17 3:50pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin) was listed as a limited participant in the team's practice on Wednesday due to a groin injury, per Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network. Swift wasn't listed on the first injury report of the week on Tuesday, so it's possible he tweaked his groin in Wednesday's practice. It's also possible that the Bears are just giving the 26-year-old lead back a little extra rest late in the season on a short week (Chicago faces the division-rival Green Bay Packers on Saturday night). We'll keep a close eye on Swift's status going into the weekend, but as of right now, fantasy managers shouldn't have too much concern that he'll be inactive in Week 16. If Swift's injury is serious enough to sideline him this weekend, though, rookie Kyle Monangai would be a must-start, plug-and-play RB in fantasy football in what is the semifinals in most leagues. Despite Monangai stealing more work in the second half, Swift remains the Bears' RB1. He has 935 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 191 carries this year, adding 254 receiving yards and another score.

Dec 17 11:00am ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift has enjoyed a bounce-back season in his second year with the team, compiling 191 carries for 935 yards and seven touchdowns to go with 29 receptions for 254 yards and another score on 41 targets. Swift has maintained a slight upper hand on the touches over rookie Kyle Monangai in the Bears' backfield lately, and notched his first two-touchdown game of the season in the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns. The 26-year-old back has been one of the most reliable weapons in an explosive Chicago offense all season, missing just one game. He's posted double-digit touches in all but one game, including at least 15 touches in all but two contests. Swift remains a must-start in fantasy football lineups, but he will have a tougher matchup in Week 16 against the division-rival Green Bay Packers this Saturday night.

Dec 15 12:40am ET

The Chicago Bears continued to enforce their will on the ground in Sunday's 31-3 blowout win over the visiting Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and running back D'Andre Swift was a big part of that. The 26-year-old had a team-high 18 rushing attempts for 98 yards while scoring twice on the ground. Swift added only one catch on one target for a loss of two yards. Rookie Kyle Monangai continued to play a key role in Chicago's backfield next to Swift, but he averaged just 3.0 yards on his 11 carries. The Bears leaned on Swift late in the game with a big lead, as he had nine carries for 56 yards in frigid temperatures in Chicago. This was Swift's first multi-touchdown game of the year. He's been a must-start in fantasy lineups with at least 80 scrimmage yards in five of his last six games. However, it could be tough sledding for Swift in a Week 16 rematch with the division-rival Packers. He had 13 carries for 63 yards just last week in the loss to Green Bay.

Dec 13 8:10pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is in the midst of his best season as a runner, averaging a career-high 69.8 rushing yards per game with six total touchdowns. Swift has been Chicago's lead back for most of the season, but has been splitting carries with rookie seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai in recent weeks. The 26-year-old back's workload has remained consistent, even as Monangai has earned more work with the Bears leaning more into the ground game, which has proven to be one of the best in the league this season. Swift has double-digit touches in all but one game this season, delivering solid value for fantasy managers with 14.4 PPR points per game. Swift can be viewed as a low-end RB2 in Week 15 in a tough matchup against the Cleveland Browns, who have allowed just 3.8 yards per carry, the second-best mark in the league.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 11:10am ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift has been having a standout season as he approaches the final four weeks. In 12 games, Swift has accumulated 1093 total yards and six touchdowns, ranking him as the RB17 on a per-game basis. His season could be even better if it weren't for the rise of rookie Kyle Monangai. Both Swift and Monangai have each had 60 carries over the last four games and have been nearly equal in snap share since Week 8. Although the Bears are among the most run-oriented teams in the NFL, this committee approach will likely make Swift an inconsistent fantasy option moving forward. He faces a Browns defense that's been tough against the run this season but just allowed 161 rushing yards to Titans running back Tony Pollard last week. As the fantasy playoffs approach, it will be tough to bench the veteran, but expectations against the Browns should be tempered.

Dec 6 10:20am ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is looking to sustain his elite productivity in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers. Swift had a monster game in Week 13, totaling 138 scrimmage yards and a touchdown against the defending champion, Philadelphia Eagles. While Swift has averaged 14.4 PPR fantasy points per game this season, rookie running back Kyle Monangai has been performing like a number-one running back as well. Over the past three weeks, the split has been nearly even, with Swift playing 52% of the snaps and Monangai playing 46%. The matchup is not ideal as well, with the Packers ranking as the seventh-best run defense in the NFL this season. Swift's fantasy value will come down to game script, as he should be considered a low-end RB2 in Week 14.

Chicago's RB D'Andre Swift ran for 125 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown in Friday's win in Philadelphia.

Nov 27 9:20am ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift had his worst game of the 2025 season in Week 12, handling just eight carries for 15 yards. Swift's role plummeted last week, as a costly fumble cut his snaps and his role against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Swift dropped from a consistent 60%+ snap player to playing under 43% of the snaps, trailing rookie running back Kyle Monangai, who played 57%. This week will be telling to see if Swift loses or returns to his normal starting role in Week 13. The Bears face the Philadelphia Eagles, who have regressed from the league's best run defense in 2024 to a middle-of-the-pack defense in 2025. However, with Monangai continuing to carve a role, Swift is more of a FLEX play in Week 13, rather than a locked-in starter.

From RotoBaller

Nov 20 3:50pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (hip) was a full participant in practice on Thursday as he continues to deal with a hip injury, according to Michal Dwojak of Bears Insider. Swift was listed as limited on Wednesday with his hip injury. The 26-year-old followed a similar practice plan last week before being cleared, playing 57% of the offensive snaps, and turning 21 carries into 90 rushing yards in the Week 11 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Rookie Kyle Monangai continues to be involved behind Swift and even scored again on Sunday, but if healthy, Swift is going to remain Chicago's clear lead back. Barring a setback in practice on Friday, Swift should be cleared from the Bears' final injury report heading into Week 12's game against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers. The matchup isn't an ideal one, but Swift's volume alone should keep him in the RB2 tier for fantasy managers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 19 5:00pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (hip) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice session, according to the team's official website. Swift has been a regular on the injury report with various nagging injuries and missed Chicago's Week 9 win over the Bengals, but has played in each of the past two weeks and resumed his lead-back role. The 26-year-old handled a season-high 21 carries for 90 yards in a Week 11 win over Minnesota. Rookie Kyle Monangai stayed involved with 13 touches for 37 yards and a rushing touchdown, but Swift has still been their best option. Swift was limited in Wednesday's practice last week before being upgraded to full on Thursday and Friday, and he should be on track to play again in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 15 12:30pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is off the injury report and is set to play in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. This marks the first time since Week 6 that Swift has no injury designation, as he has been playing through nagging hip and groin injuries throughout the season. Despite playing through injury, Swift has been a game-changer for the Bears this season. In eight games, he has 754 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns on 136 total attempts. However, Week 11 marks his first relatively tough opponent he's had since Week 2, as the Vikings have allowed the 13th fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. This run defense is no joke, as they've held Derrick Henry and Jahmyr Gibbs to under double-digit fantasy points in back-to-back weeks. Swift profiles as a risky RB2 this week, with his value dependent on whether he finds the endzone in Minnesota.

From RotoBaller

Nov 14 6:30pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (hip) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. Swift was limited in practice to begin the week due to a hip issue. After that, Swift was able to get in two full practices which was enough to clear him for this contest. He figures to resume his role as the lead back, but Kyle Monangai has earned a bigger role in recent weeks. Last week, Swift rushed for 80 yards while hauling in five passes in the win over the New York Giants. He does enough to warrant starting as a RB2 for Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Nov 13 3:50pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (hip) returned to a full practice session on Thursday after he was limited the day before, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN. Swift missed the Week 9 game due to a nagging groin issue, but he returned in last week's win over the New York Giants and handled 18 touches for 98 scrimmage yards. However, rookie RB Kyle Monangai, who went off in Week 9 in Swift's absence, scored the team's lone rushing touchdown on seven carries. The 26-year-old Swift is still the Bears' lead back, but the emergence of Monangai as his change-of-pace backfield mate could limit Swift's overall weekly upside in the second half of the season. Swift is the RB14 in half-PPR scoring this year with 544 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 113 carries while adding 23 catches for 210 yards and another score in eight games. He'll be a high-end RB2 in Week 11 against the G-Men.
