Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz's (calf) calf injury is not expected to be a long-term issue, according to general manager Nick Caserio.
Fantasy Spin: It seems like Schultz should be able to participate in most of the offseason workouts despite the injury. He will likely be a solid part of the Texans passing game next season and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio said on Wednesday that tight end Dalton Schultz (calf) is "going to be OK" after getting hurt in the Divisional Round loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, according to Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle. Caserio also added that tight end Cade Stover (knee) "avoided serious injury" and should be ready for the offseason program. Before getting hurt on Sunday, Schultz caught both of his targets for 47 yards and was on his way to a big game. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old never returned. He wrapped up his third season in Houston and eighth NFL season overall with a career-high 82 receptions on 106 targets for 777 yards and three touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. Schultz was the TE11 in half-PPR scoring, but for him to become a legitimate TE1 in fantasy, quarterback C.J. Stroud must improve as a passer.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 20-of-47 passes for 212 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game loss to the New England Patriots. RB Woody Marks rushed 14 times for just 17 yards, while posting two receptions for 19 yards, and RB Nick Chubb ran four times for 14 yards, while going without a catch on a single target. WR Jayden Higgins led the team with six receptions, 59 yards and 10 targets, while TE Dalton Schultz (calf) had two grabs for 47 yards before leaving with a calf injury. WR Xavier Hutchinson had four catches for 44 yards on 3 targets, TE Harrison Bryant had 21 yards on three catches with six targets and TE Cade Stover (knee) had a 2-yard reception on three targets before leaving with a knee ailment. WR Christian Kirk had two catches, 20 yards and a TD on six targets.
From TheHuddle
Updating a previous report, Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (calf) left the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the New England Patriots in the first quarter due to a calf injury, and he will not return. He had two receptions for 47 yards, including a 42-yard big gainer, on two targets before departing.
Fantasy Spin: With Schultz on the shelf, the primary tight end duties will fall to Cade Stover, while Harrison Bryant also could factor in. It's a bummer for Schultz and DFS players, as he was off to a hot start after the early big gainer.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (calf) won't return in Sunday's AFC Divisional Round game against the New England Patriots after suffering a calf injury. Schultz exited the first quarter with a calf issue and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. The 29-year-old caught two passes for 47 yards before leaving. Cade Stover and Harrison Bryant will handle tight end duties and will see an uptick in targets with Schultz sidelined. C.J. Stroud is already without top wideout Nico Collins (concussion) and will now be without his starting tight end. If the Texans advance to the AFC Championship versus the Denver Broncos, Schultz will have a week to recover, but is considered day-to-day for now.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (calf) is questionable to return in Sunday's AFC Divisional Round game against the New England Patriots with a calf injury. Schultz headed to the locker room during the first quarter after being forced out of the game. He caught both of his targets for 47 yards before exiting early. Cade Stover and Harrison Bryant should see an uptick in targets and have an expanded role while Schultz is sidelined. Stay tuned for more updates.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (calf) left the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the New England Patriots in the first quarter due to a calf injury. He was taken to the blue medical tent, and then to the locker room, and he is considered questionable to return.
Fantasy Spin: Schultz had a long reception in the first quarter, going for 42 yards, and he had two grabs for 47 yards on two targets before departing. If he cannot return, Cade Stover would likely get a longer look at TE, while Jayden Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson, Christian Kirk, Jaylin Noel and Woody Marks, already picking up the slack for Nico Collins, would see even more targets in the passing game.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz was held in check in his team's AFC Wild Card Round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, recording just three catches for 12 yards on four targets. However, the 29-year-old could be in line for a larger role in the Divisional Round against the New England Patriots, as star Texans wideout Nico Collins (concussion) has been ruled out due to a concussion. Schultz established himself as a trusted option for Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud during the regular season, finishing the year with 82 receptions for 777 yards and three touchdowns on a career-high 106 targets. Outside of Collins and Schultz, no other Houston pass-catcher earned more than 68 targets in 2025. While Schultz may not carry explosive upside, he could be a good bet to function as Stroud's short-area security blanket in a tough matchup against New England. Fantasy managers should view Schultz as a solid tight end option in the Divisional Round, particularly in PPR-scoring formats.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 21 of 32 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 30-6 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wild Card Weekend. Stroud also fumbled five times, losing two. RB Woody Marks ran the ball 19 times for 112 yards and a touchdown. RB Nick Chubb had 10 carries for 48 yards. WR Christian Kirk tallied eight receptions (on nine targets) for 144 yards and a score. WR Jayden Higgins finished with three catches for 39 yards, and WR Xavier Hutchinson managed 21 yards on two grabs. WR Jaylin Noel was targeted once but did not have a catch. TE Dalton Schultz caught three of four targeted passes for 12 yards. S Jalen Pitre had a team-high seven tackles (five solo), including two tackles for loss. DT Sheldon Rankins had 1 1/2 sacks and a fumble recovery that he returned for a score. S Calen Bullock had three solo tackles and an interception that was taken back for a touchdown.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz closed the year as a top-12 fantasy tight end in four of the last six weeks of the regular season, and in Monday night's Wild Card matchup in Pittsburgh, he faces a Steelers defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points above expectation to the position. With Schultz earning at least four targets in every game this season, while topping a 20% target share seven different times, he has established himself as a critical piece of the Texans' passing offense and one of C.J. Stroud's most trusted weapons. Schultz entered the weekend as RotoBaller's TE6 in fantasy playoff leagues, but he could be in line for a high-ceiling game against an opponent that has struggled to defend the position all year long.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz has had a strong season, catching a career-high 82 passes (106 targets) for 777 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games. Schultz posted 10 games with at least five receptions this season, tied with Jake Ferguson for the second-most among tight ends, trailing only Trey McBride, who had 16. The 29-year-old should be in line for another busy day as the No. 2 target behind receiver Nico Collins in the Wild-Card round against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have allowed the fourth-most catches (6.3) and third-most receiving yards (66.8) to tight ends this season. Schultz has a projectable floor for receptions and will remain a solid TE1 option for fantasy managers in playoff leagues.
From RotoBaller
TE Dalton Schultz caught all four targets for 73 yards in a Week 18 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Fantasy Spin: With his four receptions, Schultz finished the season with a career-high 82 this season, four more than 2021 with Dallas. He also finished with 777 yards - second -most to 2023 - and three touchdowns. Schultz is a definite low-end TE1 in most fantasy lineups heading into 2026, but he only has five TDs in his last two seasons after 22 the previous four seasons.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair (knee, shoulder), DE Denico Autry (knee), OT Trent Brown (ankle, knee), WR Nico Collins (non-injury), LB Jamal Hill (calf), CB Kamari Lassiter (ankle, knee), DT Sheldon Rankins (elbow), CB Derek Stingley Jr. (oblique) and TE Dalton Schultz (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 31. OT Aireontae Ersery (thumb), OG Ed Ingram (ankle) and PK Ka'imi Fairbairn (illness) were limited during practice. LS Austin Brinkman (knee), CB Ajani Carter (hamstring) and E Darrell Taylor (ankle) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Schultz will be able to return to practice later in the week. He is coming off a quiet Week 17 performance but can still be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most leagues if active.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz has been a solid PPR contributor this season, and he can be a great plug-and-play option in Week 18 if he's available on the waiver wire. Schultz and the rest of the Texans' starters will be playing in their Week 18 game against the Colts, according to coach DeMeco Ryans, since the team still has a chance to win the division. Schultz has a team-high 78 catches on the season for 704 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He had three catches for 19 yards in the team's win over the Chargers, giving him at least three catches in 14 of his 16 games this season. Two of his touchdowns have come in the last three weeks as well, making him a strong option to play at tight end if you need a solution at the position for the season finale.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz caught three of his four targets for 19 yards in a 20-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17.
Fantasy Spin: It certainly wasn't Schultz's best outing, but he did manage at least three catches for the fifth game in a row and for the eighth time in the last nine games. His steady role in the passing game makes Schultz a low-end TE1 most weeks, especially in PPR formats.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans OT Trent Brown (ankle, knee) and LB Jamal Hill (calf, wrist) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 25, and have been ruled out for Week 17. OT Aireontae Ersery (thumb) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. CB Ajani Carter (hamstring), DE Darrell Taylor (ankle) and WR Justin Watson (calf) fully participated in practice but are listed as questionable. DE Denico Autry (knee) was limited during practice but is not on the injury report. LB Azeez Al-Shaair (ankle, knee), LS Austin Brinkman (knee), DE Dylan Horton (hip), CB Kamari Lassiter (foot, knee), RB Woody Marks (ankle), DT Sheldon Rankins (knee), TE Dalton Schultz (knee) and CB Derek Stingley Jr. (oblique) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 25, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Fantasy Spin: Schultz has been a bit inconsistent on his production over the last month but has caught a touchdown in each of the last two games. He should see a handful of targets in Week 17 and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (knee) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Schultz was limited in practice to begin the week, but he is back to a full session a day later. Barring any setbacks, Schultz will be ready to go for Saturday's Week 17 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Schultz has hauled in 11 receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns over his last two games. He draws a tough matchup this weekend on the road against the Bolts, but he remains a TE1 target for this game in fantasy football. He has been a solid contributor in this offense over the last few months.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 24.
Fantasy Spin: Schultz has caught a touchdown in each of the last two games and has caught at least five passes in six of his last eight games. He should see a decent amount of targets this week and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.
