Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot), who missed last week's loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, returned to practice on Wednesday and was limited, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Although it's good news that the 28-year-old signal-caller is on the practice field, he's dealing with a mid-foot sprain and is not a lock to return in Week 7 against the visiting Green Bay Packers. Veteran Jacoby Brissett's strong performance in Murray's absence last Sunday could also lead the Cardinals to play it safe with Murray this week and hold him out again as a precaution. It sounds like Arizona has no plans to rush Murray back into action, so fantasy managers need to have a backup plan in place in case he misses a second straight start. Through five games played, Murray has been a disappointment as a QB1 option in fantasy, ranking 24th among all QBs with an average of 19.1 fantasy points per game.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon cleared things up on Monday for anyone thinking there might be quarterback controversy in the desert after veteran backup Jacoby Brissett's strong performance in the Week 6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. When asked if Kyler Murray (foot) is still the starter under center when he's healthy, Gannon said, "Yeah." "He's the starting quarterback," Gannon confirmed. Brissett threw for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception on Sunday. The last time that Murray went for over 300 yards passing in a game was in late October of 2022. Although it was just a one-game sample size for Brissett, he looked better than Murray has in his five starts in 2025. The Cardinals organization continues to stand behind Murray as the starting QB, but Brissett's impressive composure in his first start of the year on Sunday could afford the team more patience in bringing Murray back from his foot injury.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 6 contest against the Indianapolis Colts. He had been listed as questionable after missing two practices and logging a limited session on Friday. Arizona left the door open for him to play, but there were plenty of reports on Saturday that indicated Murray was unlikely to suit up. Indeed, he is inactive on Sunday and will temporarily hand over the starting job to Jacoby Brissett. The veteran makes his first start of the season, as well as his first start as an Arizona Cardinal, and he'll do so against one of his former teams. The 32-year-old is a solid passer with some mobility, so Cardinals fans and fantasy managers should feel optimistic that Brissett can keep the team competitive while supporting solid fantasy performances from players like Marvin Harrison Jr., Trey McBride, and Bam Knight.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Arizona Cardinals "are leaving the door open" for Kyler Murray (foot) to suit up on Sunday versus the Colts. However, the team is realistically "preparing" for Jacoby Brissett to start in Week 6, although a final decision won't come until Sunday morning. The signal-caller is reportedly dealing with a "mid-foot sprain," with Rapoport adding that it's "a version of a Lisfranc injury." Unfortunately, that could sideline Murray for more than just one week. As far as Brissett is concerned, he's had some quality performances over the years. In 89 regular-season games, he's thrown for 11,400 yards, 53 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions, adding 15 more scores on the ground. With that said, Brissett has some value for managers in deeper Superflex formats despite a tough matchup on the horizon, especially with injuries at the quarterback position and a few teams getting the week off.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) has officially received a questionable tag heading into the Week 6 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Let's say Murray does play in this one, the veteran would still present a risky option since a hurt foot would affect his scrambling ability, which is part of what makes him valuable in fantasy football. On top of that, the Colts are the sixth-toughest team against opposing QBs, allowing just 14.47 fantasy points per matchup. They have also accrued six interceptions versus eight passing touchdowns against them through five weeks. The Colts also don't have to worry much about a run game, so Murray's projections come in as a low-end QB2 if he can suit up. Otherwise, Jacoby Brissett will be under center for his first start of the season.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts, according to Tyler Drake of AZSports. Murray was able to get a limited practice in on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday, which will give him a chance to play on Sunday. He suffered the injury in the second half of Arizona's disappointing home loss to the Titans in Week 5, but he later returned and finished the game. Murray has been up and down this season for fantasy managers, but the Cardinals' offense would take a hit if he were to miss Sunday's game. Journeyman Jacoby Brissett would be in line to make the start in that case, but he's not an option to consider starting in Week 6.

Oct 10 11:40am CT

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) will practice on Friday, according to Dani Sureck of AZCardinals.com. Murray injured his foot in the Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the second half, but he was able to return and finish out the game. The 28-year-old then missed the first two practices of the week on Wednesday and Thursday, putting his availability in doubt for this Sunday's game on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. Murray has a shot to play in Week 6 after returning to practice on Friday, but he could draw a questionable tag for Sunday's contest. Whether he plays this weekend will depend on how he looks the next couple days. Murray has been pretty mediocre through the first five weeks of the 2025 season, but Arizona's offense would lose a lot of explosiveness if backup Jacoby Brissett were forced to start against Indy.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) missed Thursday's practice, marking his second straight absence and casting serious doubt on his availability for Sunday's matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Wednesday that Murray remains "day-to-day," but his limited mobility could make it difficult for him to suit up against a Colts defense that ranks among the league's best at sacking quarterbacks and forcing takeaways. If Murray is unable to go, veteran Jacoby Brissett would draw the start and lead the offense on the road. Fantasy managers should prepare for Murray to be inactive and look to other streaming options in Week 6, as Brissett offers limited fantasy upside against a strong Indianapolis defense.

Oct 8 12:30pm CT

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) will not practice on Wednesday, according to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com. Gannon added that the team will see how the week goes for Murray. The 28-year-old signal-caller injured his foot in the second half of the Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans, but he only ended up missing three snaps and was able to finish out the game. The fact that Murray was able to come back and finish Sunday's game was encouraging, but a missed practice on Wednesday could mean that his status for Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts is up in the air. Murray's performance early in 2025 has left a lot to be desired from his fantasy managers, and now they could be without him this weekend. Start searching for backup plans if you don't already have one. If Murray is unavailable against the Colts, veteran Jacoby Brissett would be forced into starting duties at QB.

Oct 6 10:10pm CT

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) will be monitored this week after briefly leaving the Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday to have his foot evaluated in the locker room, according to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com. The fact that Murray returned and finished out Sunday's game should give fantasy managers hope that he'll be able to play in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. However, Gannon is leaving things up in the air early in the week, so we'll have to pay close attention to the 28-year-old signal-caller's practice status later in the week. Murray had another middling fantasy outing against the Titans, throwing for 220 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. He added a rushing touchdown but also lost a fumble. If Murray is unable to play in Week 6, veteran Jacoby Brissett would make the start against the one-loss Colts.

Oct 4 11:30am CT

Through the first four weeks of the season, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has completed 66.9% of his passes for 742 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. The 28-year-old has also recorded 25 rush attempts for 148 yards, but has not yet found the end zone with his legs. Murray could be well-positioned for success in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee ranks 23rd in the NFL in yards per pass attempt allowed (7.4), and Titans opponents are averaging 30 points per game. Murray could also be called upon for more production as a rusher, given Arizona's uncertain situation at running back after losing both James Conner (ankle) and Trey Benson (knee) to injury. In Week 5, Murray profiles as a low-end fantasy QB1 in single-quarterback leagues and a must-start QB in two-quarterback formats.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray completed 27 of his 41 pass attempts for 200 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions during Thursday's Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He also took two sacks and rushed for 41 yards. While Murray impressed on the ground, leading Arizona in rushing yards, and did throw for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, his turnovers and sacks proved too costly as the Cardinals couldn't finish off their comeback effort Thursday night. Murray has been one of the most consistent fantasy quarterbacks this season, albeit somewhat unimpressive. He continues to rank as a mid-to-high QB2 ahead of next week's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Sep 25 8:20am CT

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has yet to register a QB1-level finish through the first three weeks of the season, and it doesn't get much easier heading into a short week before the Thursday night game. To make matters worse, Murray will be without his starting running back in James Conner (ankle), Zay Jones (concussion), and four different offensive linemen (two starters) are considered questionable for this matchup. The Cardinals have also lost their last five games against the Seattle Seahawks over the past couple of seasons, and they only scored a combined 24 points in the two outings last year. With that being said, Murray still has capable playmakers when they're not dropping passes, so he still has a high-level QB2 value.

From RotoBaller

Sep 19 8:50pm CT

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has been his usual inconsistent self to start the season. In Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints, he finished just outside of QB1 territory, and then he dropped even further against a weaker defense in the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. The good news, for Cardinals fans, is that he's played well enough to grab two wins at least. For fantasy purposes, he can be quite the frustrating option. Once again, he remains around the low-end QB1 and high-end QB2 area, mainly due to his scrambling ability. The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a slew of injuries on offense, but their defense currently ranks sixth against the pass. It's hard to tell how the game script will play out, but Murray should be able to deliver as long as it isn't a ground game palooza.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray finished just outside of QB1 territory in Week 1 after throwing two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints. His accuracy looked good most of the time, but the passing attack didn't gain many yards (163), and he was sacked five times. Fortunately, for Murray and company, the Carolina Panthers gave up 378 total yards and didn't register a single sack against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. With the Panthers' run defense especially looking horrendous, Murray gains even more value given the report that the team has tried to scheme more scrambling opportunities. Fantasy managers can look to Murray as a QB1 heading into Week 2, hoping that he gains even more chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr.
