Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota connected on 28 of his 50 passing attempts for 294 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against the Denver Broncos in Week 13. He added a game-high 55 yards on 10 carries in the loss.
Fantasy Spin: Outside of a couple of head-scratching decisions, Mariota played a good game Sunday night, especially considering the level of competition. It ultimately came up short when his two-point conversion pass was knocked down, but any fantasy owners bold enough to have rolled the dice were rewarded with legitimate dual-threat production. Whether he'll start another game this year remains unclear, however, as Jayden Daniels (elbow) returned to practice this week, and the team doesn't seem inclined to sit him when he's healthy -- otherwise, why not simply put Daniels on IR? A trip to Minnesota to face the free-falling Vikings is on tap, so keep an eye out to see who will start for Washington in that one.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota completed 28 of 50 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while adding 10 carries for 55 yards in a 27-26 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos. Mariota attempted a career-high 50 passes as Washington ran 85 total plays in the game and played well for the most part. The veteran connected with Treylon Burks for a five-yard touchdown on an unbelievable one-handed catch in the third quarter, then found Terry McLaurin for a three-yard touchdown in overtime to bring Washington within one point of the Broncos, but they ultimately failed the two-point conversion to win the game. Still, it was an encouraging outing for Mariota and the Washington offense against an elite Denver defense. Mariota could make another start next week against the Minnesota Vikings if Jayden Daniels (elbow) is unable to return.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota will start Week 13's game against the Denver Broncos, as a result of QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) having been ruled out due to a dislocated left elbow.
Fantasy Spin: It appears as though Daniels has a good chance to resume playing in Week 14 versus the Minnesota Vikings, since he was able to participate in all three of Washington's practice sessions this week on a limited basis. Mariota should only be viewed as a starting fantasy option in two-quarterback fantasy leagues for as long as Daniels is sidelined.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota will make his third consecutive start in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos with Jayden Daniels (elbow) ruled out. Daniels returned as a limited participant in practice this week, but hasn't been cleared for contact yet and will need at least another week. Mariota has performed well this season with Daniels sidelined, completing 65.7% of his passes for 1,065 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions while adding 27 carries for 193 yards and another score as a runner in seven games (five starts). The 32-year-old veteran will have No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) back from his second multi-game absence on Sunday Night Football against an elite Denver Broncos defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Mariota profiles as a mid-range QB2 option for Week 13.
From RotoBaller
With Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) missing time due to both knee and elbow injuries, backup QB Marcus Mariota has gotten extended playing time in 2025. Across seven games (five starts) this season, the 32-year-old has completed 65.7% of his pass attempts for 1,065 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions. Mariota also brings some juice with his legs, rushing for 193 yards and a touchdown on 27 attempts. However, Daniels was able to avoid surgery on his dislocated left elbow, which could allow him to return to the field shortly after the Commanders' Week 12 bye. At the same time, Washington is out of the playoff mix with a 3-8 record, so the team could choose to shut Daniels down and play for 2026. Still, the Commanders will face one of the NFL's best defenses in the Denver Broncos in Week 13. Mariota does not profile as a starting fantasy QB option in Week 13, which may be his last chance to start before Daniels returns.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota finished Sunday with 213 yards passing, 49 yards rushing, one touchdown pass, and an interception in an overtime loss against Miami. Filling in for starter Jayden Daniels (elbow), the veteran was solid if unspectacular by completing 20 of 30 passing attempts and breaking a 44-yard run that accounted for most of his rushing yardage. Mariota briefly departed the game to be checked for a concussion, but re-entered and finished the game. Unfortunately for Washington, his lone pick was a big one: Miami intercepted him on the first play of overtime and was able to kick a short field goal to clinch victory. From a fantasy perspective, Mariota should maintain Superflex value as long as Daniels is hurt.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota went 20-for-30 for 213 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Miami Dolphins in Week 11. He also rushed for 49 yards on four carries during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Mariota missed a few plays because of a concussion evaluation but returned and played the rest of the game. He has posted decent numbers since taking over for Jayden Daniels for the second time this season. He will be the starter until Daniels returns and can be a possible option in two-quarterback leagues after the team's Week 12 bye.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (head) left the Week 11 game early in order to be evaluated for a concussion but has been cleared to return.
Fantasy Spin: Mariota will have a bye next week in case he experiences any symptoms after the game. He will be the starter as long as Jayden Daniels is sidelined and can be an option in two-quarterback leagues most weeks.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota has value as a potential streamer going up against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid in Week 11. Mariota was solid on low passing volume in Washington's Week 10 loss to the Lions, completing 16 of 22 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns while adding five rushes for 22 yards on the ground. The veteran finished as QB12 for the week with 18.7 fantasy points and should be in line for another productive game against a leaky Miami defense. Mariota will be without most of Washington's expected core of wide receivers, including Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Luke McCaffrey (shoulder), and the recently signed Treylon Burks (finger) has also been ruled out. The 32-year-old Mariota is a viable streamer in a matchup that could wind up being a shootout with how poor Washington's defense has been lately.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) was ruled out for Week 11. QB Marcus Mariota will start.
Fantasy Spin: Mariota is a sneaky option against a Miami Dolphins team that trimmed its roster on defense at the trade deadline. Add in that their top pass rusher Bradley Chubb is questionable with an injury, and Mariota could be a low-end QB1 this week.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota matched his season high with 213 passing yards on 16-for-22 passing with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 44-22 blowout loss to the visiting Detroit Lions in Week 10. Mariota also carried the ball five times for 22 rushing yards and was sacked twice for a loss of 18 yards. The 32-year-old's numbers don't really jump off the page, but all in all, it wasn't a bad performance in his fourth start of the year. It's unclear exactly how long Jayden Daniels (elbow) will be out following a gruesome dislocated left elbow in Week 9, but Mariota should see at least a few more starts, including a plus matchup in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. He has completed 65.5% of his 110 pass attempts for 852 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions in his six games played (four starts) in 2025. Mariota should continue to be a low-upside QB2 streamer in superflex leagues for however long Daniels remains sidelined.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota completed 16 of his 22 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns and rushed five times for 22 yards in a 44-22 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 10.
Fantasy Spin: Mariota finished with a solid stat line in a losing effort, and if Jayden Daniels isn't ready to return in Week 11, Mariota will draw favorable matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Keep Mariota in mind as a QB2 if you need a streaming option next weekend.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota is set to make his fourth start of the season with starting quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) out for an extended period of time. Mariota has been solid in his first three starts, completing 66.7% of his passes for 576 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions to go with 102 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. It's ideal that Washington's offense doesn't have to change much with Mariota in for Daniels, as both quarterbacks offer similar dual-threat abilities, although the veteran is a much less dynamic version. The 32-year-old gets a solid matchup in Week 10 against a Detroit Lions defense that has allowed the 11th most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Mariota is ranked as RotoBaller's QB15 for Week 10.
From RotoBaller
With Jayden Daniels (elbow) expected to miss time following a gruesome Week 9 injury, Marcus Mariota is set to take over as the Washington Commanders' starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. In three starts this season, the veteran has completed 52 of 78 passes (66.7%) for 576 yards, throwing four touchdowns and three interceptions, while adding 102 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Mariota draws a favorable Week 10 matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. With his dual-threat ability and favorable matchup, Mariota profiles as a low-end QB2 for Week 10, and potentially beyond if Daniels remains sidelined.

From FantasyLife
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to be the Commanders' starting QB for the next several weeks following the elbow injury suffered by Jayden Daniels on Sunday night. Daniels is without a timetable to return, but could still be back this season. He'll be sidelined for a while, though, which will allow Mariota to return to the starting role in Washington. He has started three games this season, most recently against the Chiefs in Week 8. He threw for 213 yards and a touchdown in that game and added 28 yards on eight carries. He also threw an interception, though, and has four picks to go with his four passing scores on the season. He does bring some rushing potential with at least 20 rushing yards each game, but he doesn't offer nearly the ceiling as a dynamic playmaker that Daniels brings. If you need QB help from the waiver wire in two-quarterback leagues, Mariota can be an option, but the veteran backup has a tough matchup against the Lions this week before a more favorable Week 11 matchup against the Dolphins going into the team's Week 12 bye.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota threw a pair of tough interceptions, and the team only managed seven points in their Monday night loss to the Chiefs. The fill-in starter completed 21-of-30 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown, and he also led the team in rushing with 28 yards on eight carries. Mariota and the offense looked decent in the first half, and the game was tied at halftime, but they struggled in the second half against a strong Chiefs' defense. Mariota could be in line to start again this week at home against the Seahawks, but the Commanders will hope that Jayden Daniels (hamstring) is able to return. Mariota would be tough to trust for fantasy against the solid Seahawks defense next week, and Daniels' return would boost the rest of the Commanders' playmakers as well.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota completed 21 of 30 passes for 213 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in a Week 8 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Mariota also ran the ball eight times for a team-high 28 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Mariota actually played pretty well on Monday night. His two interceptions featured one that went right through Deebo Samuel's hands and bounced off his facemask to end a promising opening drive, and the other came on the final pass of the night with less than 30 seconds left. The team (and fantasy owners) hope that Jayden Daniels (hamstring) will be ready to roll this Sunday night against the Seahawks, but if Mariota is needed to make another start you'd want to avoid him against that Seattle pass rush.
From TheHuddle
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota will make his third start of the season on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Jayden Daniels (hamstring) ruled out early in the week, Washington will rely on the 31-year-old quarterback for a big primetime matchup. Mariota led Washington to a 1-1 record and has been solid in both of his starts, completing 31 of 48 pass attempts for 363 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception while also adding value with his legs, with eight carries for 60 yards and a rushing score. And he'll be getting a big boost in Week 8 with both top wide receivers, Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel), cleared from the injury report and set to play on Monday. Mariota will face a Chiefs defense that just pitched a shutout in Week 7 against the Raiders, but has been mediocre against the pass outside of that game, ranking 21st in dropback success rate (48.9%). The veteran QB has value as a streamer in a potential high-scoring matchup, ranking as RotoBaller's QB14 for Week 8.
From RotoBaller
With star quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring) out for Week 8, the Washington Commanders will turn to veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota to make his third start of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mariota has been reasonably productive across three games' worth of action so far this season, completing 60.3% of his pass attempts for 426 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. The 32-year-old also remains a threat with his legs, as he's recorded 94 yards and a touchdown on 10 rush attempts. The Commanders have a tough matchup in Week 8, as they will travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs. On the bright side, Washington could get back both of its top wide receivers in Terry McLaurin (quad) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel). Both wideouts practiced in full on Thursday after being sidelined in Week 7. In Week 8, Mariota profiles as a low-end starting fantasy quarterback in single-QB formats and a must-start player in two-quarterback formats.
