San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro (hamstring) is expected to return to action following the team's bye in Week 14. Pineiro has missed each of the last two games due to a hamstring issue. Luckily, head coach Kyle Shanahan believes Pineiro will be ready to play against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15. Pineiro has been a great addition to the 49ers roster this season. The 30-year-old has made all 22 of his field-goal attempts while connecting on 18 of 22 extra-point kicks. Matt Gay has been kicking for the 49ers over the last two games, but his services will likely no longer be needed once Pineiro returns.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro (hamstring) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for the Week 13 contest against the hosting Cleveland Browns this Sunday, according to The Athletic's Zac Jackson. Pineiro will miss another game with a right-hamstring injury. Matt Gay will kick for the team for the second straight week. The 31-year-old veteran made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra points in his debut with the Niners in their Monday night win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 12. Inclement weather is scheduled for Cleveland on Sunday, so fantasy managers may want to steer clear of Gay as a streaming option at the kicker position. The 49ers have their bye in Week 14, so Pineiro might be ready to roll when the team returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 14, versus the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro (hamstring) was a non-participant during Wednesday's practice session. Pineiro wasn't able to practice at all last week before eventually getting ruled out for the Week 12 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. It's not looking good as Pineiro is sidelined to begin this week as well. He's currently considered week-to-week due to a Grade 1 hamstring strain. In his absence, Matt Gay was perfect on all four of his kick attempts. Gay figures to get another start if Pineiro is sidelined versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 13.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 12 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. This doesn't come as a surprise after Pineiro failed to practice at all this week. His absence will likely result in Matt Gay being elevated from the practice squad. He figures to serve as the kicker for at least one week with Pineiro having a chance to return in Week 13. Gay has spent most of the season with the Washington Commanders, making 13-of-19 field goal attempts. He has struggled this season, so there should be better streaming options out there ahead of Week 12.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro (hamstring) is considered week-to-week after suffering a Grade 1 hamstring strain in the Week 11 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, according to David Lombardi of The San Francisco Standard. With Pineiro hurt, the 49ers will hold kicker tryouts this week. Lombardi mentions that the Niners could reunite with Jake Moody and sign him off the Chicago Bears' practice squad. San Fran doesn't currently have another placekicker on their roster. The 30-year-old Pineiro had been money for the 49ers this year before his injury, making all 22 of his field-goal attempts, including all six from 50-plus yards, and 18 of his 22 extra-point tries in 10 games. The team will have a bit of extra time to find a new kicker going into their Week 12 matchup against the Carolina Panthers next Monday night.

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro (hamstring) is considered questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Pineiro appears to have pulled his hamstring during the second half of this contest. The assumption is that punter Thomas Morstead would take over as the kicker for the rest of the contest. The 49ers are already up multiple scores in the middle of the fourth quarter. That being said, San Francisco might elect to not kick at all. Before exiting, Pineiro knocked down all three field goal attempts, while connecting on 2-of-4 extra points kicks in this game. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on Pineiro.

Nov 15 4:40am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro went 2-for-3 on extra point tries and had no field goal attempts in the team's 42-26 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10. The miss was Pineiro's second of the season, the other also a failed extra point conversion. Pineiro remains perfect on field goal attempts in 2025, having made good on all 19 tries (including six from 50-plus yards out). Pineiro will seek to extend his streak while the 49ers try to rebound in another divisional matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11. Back in Week 3, Pineiro walked off the Arizona Cardinals with a 35-yard field goal as time expired, handing his team a 16-15 win over their division rivals. Pineiro clocks in with an average of 10.0 fantasy points per game and is projected as a top-10 option for Week 11, making him an excellent option for fantasy football lineups come Sunday.

Nov 1 5:20am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro has played his way into being one of the more valuable kickers in fantasy football in 2025. Unsigned until the 49ers brought him in to replace the erratic Jake Moody after Week 1, Pineiro ranks fifth in both total fantasy points and fantasy points per game. In last week's slog against the Houston Texans, Pineiro's only opportunity was a single extra point try, which he converted. On the season, he is 10-for-11 on extra points and a perfect 17-for-17 on field goal attempts. In Week 9, the 49ers square off against the New York Giants, who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing kickers. Pineiro is a relatively safe bet for fantasy production out of the kicker slot and can be included in starting lineups in Week 9.

Oct 25 5:40am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro has evolved from a streaming option into a weekly starter. Pineiro now ranks third among kickers in total fantasy points and is at the top of the leaderboard in fantasy points per game. In San Francisco's 20-10 win over Atlanta last week, Pineiro was good on all four of his kicks. He connected on both extra point attempts as well as his field goal tries, the first from 55 yards out and the second from 43. The 55-yarder was his fifth field goal from 50 or more yards away, tying his previous season-long best, set in 2023. In Week 8, Pineiro runs into the Houston Texans, who have seen opponents make just four field goals on ten attempts. San Francisco has done well at advancing into enemy territory, so even if they struggle against Houston's elite defense, Pineiro should be set up for another good day.

Oct 18 12:30am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro has been one of the NFL's top scorers lately, going 8-for-8 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points over his last two games. The 30-year-old has been a terrific addition for the Niners, who moved on from the plight of Jake Moody earlier this year and have gotten consistent production out of his replacement. This week, Pineiro takes on the Atlanta Falcons, who rank near the middle of the league in limiting kicker points. The Falcons have allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to kickers, giving Pineiro an opportunity to remain highly effective yet again. He should be streamed and/or started in most leagues this week.

Oct 11 5:40am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro nailed his second game-winning kick in three weeks in Week 5. Pineiro's 59-yarder, a new career-best, sealed the 49ers' 26-23 win over the Rams in overtime. He also converted two extra points and hit three other field goals in regulation from 20, 37, and 41 yards out, making him a perfect 11-for-11 on field goal attempts so far this season. After his big game on Thursday, Pineiro ranks second among kickers in fantasy points per game. San Francisco's matchup against Tampa Bay carries one of the higher implied totals on the Week 6 slate, which means Pineiro can be expected to see his fair share of opportunities to get points on the board. He is a good streaming option for Week 6.

Oct 2 2:20am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro recovered well from his introduction to the team back in Week 2. In his first scoring opportunity after replacing the volatile Jake Moody, Pineiro hooked an extra point attempt. He has since made each of his subsequent tries - four extra points, and seven field goals, one of which came as time expired to give the 49ers their Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Known more for his accuracy than for his range, Pineiro makes for a reliable floor play. He's no lock to drive home the 50-yarders that can really make a difference in fantasy football, but he can be counted on to convert the kicks he makes in his opponent's territory. In 2025, he ranks eighth in the league in fantasy points per game. In Week 5, he is a serviceable streaming candidate against the Rams.

Sep 20 4:50am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro was brought in for Week 2 after one miss too many by Jake Moody brought about his release. Naturally, Pineiro shanked his first kick with his new team, an extra-point try no less. Pineiro rebounded and made good on the rest of his attempts last Sunday, two extra points and field goals from 44 and 46 yards out. Pineiro is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, a welcome change of pace given his predecessor's volatility. His upside is limited, however, by a lack of leg strength. Pineiro makes for an adequate streamer in Week 3, though fantasy football managers are better off seeking a kicker with greater potential to hit long-range field goals.

Sep 13 1:10pm CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro revealed that he had offers from at least two teams before signing with the Niners this past week. Pineiro acknowledged that he chose the 49ers over an offer from the Atlanta Falcons. While the veteran kicker did not explain his reasoning for the decision, it's likely because he was offered a 53-man roster spot with San Francisco, whereas Atlanta merely wanted to add him to the practice squad as competition for Younghoee Koo. The Falcons pivoted to John Parker Romo, who will now add some pressure on Koo going forward. As for Pineiro, the veteran kicker will be active for his 49ers debut on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. He owns an impressive 88.1 percent success rate on field goals through his five years in the NFL, which includes stints with the Bears, Jets, and Panthers. Pineiro has top-12 kicker upside in fantasy football, but scoring opportunities could be a little harder to come by with Brock Purdy (shoulder), George Kittle (hamstring), and Brandon Aiyuk (knee) sidelined. On the other hand, Mac Jones' drives may stall just over midfield, creating more long field goal opportunities for Pineiro. He's a solid streaming option in leagues with 12+ teams.

Sep 13 3:40am CT

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro signed with the team on September 10, in the wake of the release of Jake Moody. Pineiro does not have Moody's leg strength, but he is certainly more accurate. Despite attempting twice as many field goals as Moody in his career (126 to 62), Pineiro has one fewer miss (15 to Moody's 16). San Francisco's offense has been bitten by the injury bug, including quarterback Brock Purdy (toe, shoulder), who has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints. With Mac Jones at the helm, the offense's potential takes a step back, placing greater reliance on the team's kicker to put up points, however possible. Consider Pineiro a serviceable streamer for Week 2.

The San Francisco 49ers are signing free-agent kicker Eddy Pineiro to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday after waiving struggling kicker Jake Moody earlier in the day, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Pineiro, 29, is currently the third-most accurate kicker in league history with an 88.1 percent success rate, which is behind only Justin Tucker and Harrison Butker. Pineiro spent the last three seasons kicking for the Carolina Panthers and went 80-for-90 on his field-goal tries, including going 8-for-11 from 50-plus yards, and 80-for-87 on extra points in 49 games. The 49ers are hoping that the veteran kicker can be much more effective than Moody has been, and he could quickly be on the fantasy radar as a streaming option in a strong matchup in Week 2 in a dome on the road against the New Orleans Saints if quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder, toe) is active.

Aug 26 12:10pm CT

The Miami Dolphins worked out free-agent kicker Eddy Pineiro on Tuesday, a source tells Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Dolphins are looking for a new kicker to begin the 2025 regular season after they announced on Monday that Jason Sanders (hip) will be out for the the next four to five week with a hip injury. The 29-year-old Pineiro has been solid in his five NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, making 88.1 percent of his 126 field-goal attempts, including going 11-for-14 from 50-plus yards out. He spent the last three years in Carolina, going 80-for-90 on field-goal tries and 80-for-87 on his extra points in 49 games. Pineiro has been productive the last three seasons, but if he signs with Miami and opens the year as their starting kicker, he'll be a deep-league kicking streamer, at best.
