A court hearing for a battery case involving New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Chris Lammons and two other defendants has been pushed back at least two more months, according to multiple reports. It's the third time the hearing has been pushed back this year. Kamara is facing a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit battery and a felony charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. He could face a suspension under the NFL's personal-conduct policy, but there is no timetable for any potential discipline. The 27-year-old has made the Pro Bowl each of the last five seasons and had 1,337 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns in 13 games in 2021. With a potential suspension looming later in 2022, Kamara has become more of a high-end RB2 target in fantasy.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara's battery case was delayed another 60 days Monday, Aug. 1, after the lawyers for all four men involved in the case asked for more time to review the case.

Fantasy Spin: This delay likely ensures Kamara will be available to start the season for fantasy purposes. What is less clear is if this only pushes back an inevitable league suspension into November and/or December or Kamara is able to avoid any league punishment for the entirety of 2022. For now, he appears to be a high-risk, high-reward RB2.

The NFL continues to review New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara's offseason arrest, according to a source, and there's no firm timeline on a decision on discipline for Kamara under the personal-conduct policy. It opens the door for Kamara to be available in Week 1, unless he's placed on paid leave via the commissioner's exempt list. League sources said the feeling is that Kamara could be suspended, but nothing is firm and much could depend on the findings of the case. The 26-year-old was arrested in February on felony battery charges stemming from an incident in Las Vegas during Pro Bowl weekend. With all the uncertainty, it's made Kamara a risky high-end RB2 in fantasy for those that are drafting in the near future. If he's suspended to begin the season, veteran Mark Ingram II would likely lead the backfield, with Tony Jones, Dwayne Washington and Devine Ozigbo also in line for increased roles.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara has no timetable for a decision on whether or not he'll be suspended after his offseason arrest, according to sources. It also isn't clear if Kamara will indeed be suspended or not, per sources. Kamara is due in court for a hearing on Aug. 1.

Jul 6 12:30am ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has had a tumultuous offseason thanks to an offseason arrest following an altercation in Las Vegas back in February, and he could be looking at a suspension from the NFL. However, his court hearings have already been continued twice, each time relative to delivery of evidence to his team. His next hearing is currently scheduled for August, but if it's pushed back again or if the case moves along beyond the hearing, the process could extend into the regular season or even further. A six-game suspension is expected for Kamara, but the legal process will need to wrap up before the NFL hands down their suspension. A looming six-game suspension obviously hurts the 26-year-old's fantasy value, and he's extremely risky while on the RB1/2 borderline. If you draft Kamara, you better handcuff him with Mark Ingram II.

Dynasty | Saints running back Alvin Kamara is bracing for at least a six-game suspension Dynasty Analysis: As Mike Florio points out in the linked video, the personal conduct policy baseline for the incident that Kamara was involved in outlines a six-game suspension. The "or more" reference seems to still be in play as well, making for significant 2022 risk for those drafting Kamara ahead of the official announcement. Kamara, soon to be 27, had a dismal 2021 relating to expectations and a significant amount of missed time in 2022 lessens his value for what would be an age-28 campaign in 2023, a point at which where running backs begin to decline. Undoubtedly, the dynamic back still has tremendous upside when on the field, and the sooner we know how many games will be missed, the sooner dynasty coaches will be able to more accurately reflect the risk-reward potential. Now ranked as DLF's RB15, Alvin Kamara is clearly a back best owned by competitive dynasty teams looking for two-to-three more years of production.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is likely to miss time heading into next season. The stud running back is bracing for a suspension of at least six games. Kamara is facing felony battery charges for allegedly throwing some punches at an incident in Las Vegas. The NFL normally waits until the criminal process has concluded before announcing any disciplinary action. As of right now, Kamara appears to be a risky fantasy option heading into the season. Although, Mark Ingram II should see his stock rise as he's the projected backup to Kamara.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara is bracing for a suspension of at least six games for his involvement in a off-field incident in Las Vegas during the offseason, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see when Kamara may receive the suspension. He is one of the better running backs in the NFL when healthy and can be a weekly starting fantasy option when on the field. Players will need backup plans ready when Kamara sits out games.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara has not been participating in voluntary workouts this offseason.

Fantasy Spin: Kamara probably will participate in the mandatory minicamp and training camp but does have an off-field issue that is still going on. Kamara should be a No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues in 2022 if he does not face any suspension.

Apr 25 2:30pm ET

A hearing scheduled for Monday in the battery case against New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been moved to Aug. 1. Justice of the Peace Harmony Letizia said the court needed more time to review surveillance video and other evidence before proceeding with the case. Kamara told the police that he threw "a couple punches, thinking the guy was running away" after an altercation with several men. All four men involved in the incident the night before the Pro Bowl face a felony charge. Kamara, 26, finished last year with 240 carries for 898 yards and four touchdowns, also adding 47 catches on 67 targets for 439 yards and five more TDs. He's an RB1 in fantasy, but the prospect of an in-season suspension could affect his draft value this fall.

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara's court hearing was postponed to Aug. 1, according to Katelyn Newberg of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Kamara and three other men were accused of battery in connection with a February brawl on the Las Vegas Strip.

Fantasy Spin: As fantasy managers begin preparing for drafts, the delay in this situation could cloud the outlook for Kamara even more. As long as a potential suspension remains unknown, Kamara will be a risky option come fantasy draft season.

The New Orleans Saints converted $10.465 million of running back Alvin Kamara's 2022 compensation into a signing bonus on Friday, creating $8.372 million in salary cap space for the upcoming league year, according to a source. Still, the Saints remain more than $23 million over the salary cap, so they have plenty of work to do. Kamara was arrested in February for a battery incident in Las Vegas and could be facing a suspension for the 2022 season. The 26-year-old had his fifth straight Pro Bowl season in 2021, rushing for 898 yards and four touchdowns on a career-high 240 carries. He also had 47 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns on 67 targets in 13 games. Kamara has yet to top 1,000 yards rushing in his five seasons, but his receiving contributions usually make up for it. His legal issues could affect his RB1 fantasy value in 2022.

Mar 11 9:23am ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara restructured his deal Friday, March 11, to convert $10.465 million into a signing bonus and create $8.372 million in salary cap space.

Fantasy Spin: Kamara is coming off his worst year as a pro, and his Vegas arrest could make him susceptible to a suspension in 2022. He's still a solid PPR RB1, but he's one with a number of questions that makes it hard to take as your top running back.
