Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has been getting valuable repetitions during organized team activities this week with second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson. Last year at this time, Taylor and Richardson didn't practice together in the offseason because Taylor was hurt and in a contract dispute. When he returned in Week 5, Taylor played with Richardson for two snaps before Richardson suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Taylor missed seven games in 2023 due to ankle and thumb injuries but ended the year with season-highs in carries (30) and rushing yards (188), including a 48-yard touchdown run. The 25-year-old should be a lock for 1,000 rushing yards in 2024 if he's healthy, and his ceiling will be pretty high if Richardson remains healthy all years as well, although the dynamic QB could vulture plenty of TDs at the goal line.

The 24-year-old closes out the regular season with 894 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns in ten games played. Indy is now eliminated from playoff contention with their Week 18 loss.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has slowly returned to his normal form, running the ball 21 times for 96 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Taylor has now scored at least one touchdown in his last four matchups and looks to continue the streak in a win-and-in season finale against the Houston Texans. Houston has done a decent job defending the run this season, allowing the third least rushing yards per game and the 15th least fantasy points to opposing running backs. Fellow running back Zack Moss (forearm) is questionable ahead of this matchup, but it will be Taylor in all likelihood getting the vast majority of opportunities regardless of Moss' status. Fantasy managers can expect Indy to play through Taylor in their most important game of the season, and can look to start him as a high-end RB2 accordingly.

Taylor is set for another large workload, against a defense that's allowed the tenth most points to opposing fantasy running backs this season. That being said, their more recent form has been much better as Las Vegas has allowed just the third least amount of points to opposing fantasy running backs over the last four weeks. With all that in mind, Taylor's potential volume in Moss' absence puts him in contention for a solid RB2 play in Week 17.
