Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (foot) was unable to suit up for Thursday's practice session. Pollard has yet to practice this week which is a bad sign heading into the Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots. The loss of Pollard would be a significant hit to the Titans backfield. Pollard has seen over 15 carries in each of the last four games. Fellow back Tyjae Spears (hamstring) is still working his way back, so if they both sit then Julius Chestnut would move into the lead back role. He'd have some streaming appeal as the lone back for Sunday's game.

Oct 30 10:20pm ET

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (shoulder) and running back Tony Pollard (foot) were both listed as non-participants on the team's Wednesday practice report. It's an interesting development, as neither player looked hampered by an injury in Tennessee's 52-14 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions. Pollard (82%) and Ridley (79%) were both on the field for their typical allotment of snaps on Sunday, so maybe we can chalk it up as a veteran's day of rest. Still, the DNP designation is slightly concerning. With the Titans hosting the New England Patriots in Week 9, the duo's practice participation over the next two days will be telling of their Sunday status. Considering Pollard has been solid all season, and Ridley is coming off his breakout game in Week 8 -- fantasy managers will want to monitor their progress ahead of Week 9.

Oct 27 8:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 20 times for 94 yards, adding three receptions on four targets for 23 yards in a 38-point loss to Detroit. Pollard expectedly got a big workload with Tyjae Spears sitting out due to a hamstring injury, and was very efficient on the afternoon with a healthy 4.7 yards per carry against an extremely tough run defense. It was the third time this season Pollard has put up over 100 scrimmage yards in a game, proving to be a very trustworthy RB2 for fantasy managers. While the 1-6 Titans will likely be playing in a negative game script most of the season, Pollard is clearly one of the only featured offensive players on this team and should continue to see a lot of touches, making him a great floor play on a week-to-week basis. He will remain a great play next week when the Titans face the soft run defense of New England.

Oct 25 6:30pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard faces the Detroit Lions in a Week 8 road matchup this weekend. Pollard underwhelmed against a bad rush defense but was mostly game scripted out in the second half against Buffalo last week. The Lions boast one of the best rush defenses in the NFL, allowing the third-fewest yards on the ground in the NFL through seven weeks. Tyjae Spears did play against the Bills but is likely to return this week after having practiced in limited fashion for three consecutive days. That will take snaps away from Pollard, especially if the Lions go up early in this one. Pollard did draw six targets last week so he may remain involved in the passing game even with Spears back in the mix, but with the tough matchup and less opportunity inbound he's only a lower-end RB2 for this game.

Oct 20 8:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 16 times for 61 yards, catching two passes for four yards on six targets in the 24-point loss at Buffalo. It was a disappointing afternoon for Pollard managers, as the former Cowboy could only muster 8.5 fantasy points with the backfield all to himself. Game script changed on a dime in this one, with the first half heavily favoring Pollard as the Titans took a 10-7 lead into the half. Tennessee was then outscored 21-0 over the next quarter and all but abandoned the run at that point. The most promising aspect of this one was that Pollard was second on the team in targets with six, a trend that should continue with how poor the downfield passing attack has been for Tennessee. The Detroit Lions and their stout run defense is on tap for Week 8.

Oct 18 5:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard faces the Buffalo Bills in Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season. The former Memphis star has been one of the more consistent options at the running back position in fantasy thus far, ranking top-10 in consistency despite not having eclipsed the 20-point mark once this year. He's averaging a hair under 20 opportunities per game and now takes on a Buffalo rush defense that is routinely gashed on a weekly basis. The Bills rank 31st in yards per carry allowed and points conceded to running backs through six weeks. With Pollard being the only effective weapon the Titans have on offense at the moment and Tyjae Spears ruled out, he should see a huge workload as a top-12 option this week. Start him with confidence.

Oct 14 11:50am ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 17 times for 93 yards and a touchdown, adding three receptions for negative five yards in a loss to the Colts on Sunday. On a day in which the Titans passing attack looked the worst it has all season, Pollard was heavily relied upon to move the chains, and did so efficiently with a healthy 5.5 yards per carry mark. It's worth noting that Pollard and his RB teammate Tyjae Spears were splitting work fairly evenly until Spears left the game at halftime and did not return. From then on, Pollard was once again the workhorse, his day highlighted by a 23-yard touchdown scamper on a 3rd-and-19 that game Tennessee the lead. The speedster has been the only consistent part of this offense in 2024, and will likely be the focal point when the Titans head to Buffalo next week to face the Bills, who are allowing a league-low 5.2 yards per carry.

Oct 11 8:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard will take on the Indianapolis Colts in a Week 6 divisional matchup this Sunday. The lead back for Tennessee has gotten it done for fantasy managers this season, scoring over 15 PPR points in three-of-four games played. Fellow back Tyjae Spears has not been much of a hindrance to Pollard getting a full workload, as the latter ranks top 20 league-wide for touches at his position. The Colts have been one of the softest run defenses in the NFL, ranking in the bottom-10 for fantasy points allowed, and just let Tank Bigsby go for 101 and two scores on only 13 carries last week. In a game where the Titans are favored at home, it should be a busy day for Pollard, similar to the Week 4 game against Miami in which he saw a season high 24 touches. The former Cowboy should be locked into lineups in all formats this weekend as a fringe RB1.

Sep 30 11:40pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 22 times for 88 yards and a touchdown, adding two receptions for 20 yards in a 31-12 win over Miami. The Titans ground game was stifled early, as Pollard was only able to muster 20 yards from his first ten carries. He broke this open with a 41-yard scamper in the 3rd quarter, almost scoring a touchdown but was eventually brought down at the seven-yard line. Miami's defense was worn down from that point forward, as Pollard enjoyed multiple runs of 10+ yards, capping off his productive night with a TD on a fourth and goal with 24 seconds left. While Tyjae Spears received 17 touches in this game, Pollard remains the workhorse and should be a top-12 option vs. a soft Indianapolis run defense in Week 6 after the Titans bye.

Sep 27 4:30pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard heads to Miami to face the Dolphins in a Week 4 primetime matchup. After two strong weeks to start the season Pollard took a major step back last week with only 4.4 points in half-PPR scoring. The positives were that he still drew four targets, and managed to out-rush his backfield mate Tyjae Spears for the third consecutive week. With Levis' struggles at the helm of this offense, the Titans may opt to lean on their dynamic RB duo more often, and this coming week against a porous rush defense that just let James Cook go hog-wild, Pollard remains a strong play.

Sep 22 4:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard ran six times for 14 yards, adding three receptions for 15 yards in a loss to Green Bay. It was a putrid fantasy day for the former Cowboy, who was looking like a great value in the later rounds of drafts after being featured heavily in Weeks 1-2. Game script definitely played a huge part in the low volume for Pollard, as the Titans went down very early and were forced to rely on the arm of quarterback Will Levis, which did not get them very far. Green Bay had been weak against the run coming into this game, but completely dominated the Titans up front, which did not bode well for Pollard. He will look to bounce back in Week 4 vs. Miami.

Sep 20 5:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. While the Titans' coaching staff keeps implying that Tyjae Spears will get more touches, Pollard continues to dominate the backfield work for Tennessee. The former Cowboy has received 25 more touches than Spears through two weeks and has also been more efficient with these opportunities. With Spears potentially sitting out or at the very least limited with an ankle injury this week, Pollard is an absolute smash play that should see a ton of volume against a run defense that has been gashed in both games to start the year. Fantasy managers should start Pollard with confidence this week.

Sep 15 8:20pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 17 times for 62 yards, also securing five passes on six targets for 40 yards in a 24-17 loss to New York. For the second straight week, Pollard was the clear lead back for this Titans offense, out-touching Tyjae Spears 22-8 in Week 2. Although Spears left the game late with an ankle injury, Pollard was still dominating the time on the field up to that point and was more effective when given the ball. He was also tied for the team lead in targets with six, proving he still has a role carved out for him in the passing game even with Spears' ability in that department. With how much this coaching staff seems to trust Pollard, he should be locked into lineups moving forward as a mid-tier RB2 with a tinge of upside. Up next is the Packers vulnerable run defense in a Week 3 home matchup.

Sep 13 5:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard will face the New York Jets this Sunday for the team's home opener. The former Cowboys was a lone bright spot for the Titans offense against Chicago last week, producing 94 yards from scrimmage and touchdown. He was heavily featured on the ground with sixteen total carries compared to his backfield mate Tyjae Spears' 4, but Titans head coach Brian Callahan did say he would like the split to be "more even" after the game. Even if Spears does see a bit more work, the team clearly views Pollard as the superior runner and the guy who will receive most of the 'between the tackles' rushing. The utilization for these two backs is likely going to come down to game script on a week-to-week basis, but the coaching staff definitely trusts Pollard and so should fantasy managers with their RB2/flex spot headed into a matchup with the Jets and their soft-ish run defense.

From RotoBaller

Sep 9 10:30am ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 16 times for 82 yards and a score, adding three receptions for 12 yards in the loss to Chicago. Pollard started the game as the Titans top back and out-carried Tyjae Spears by a surprisingly large margin, 16-4, right after the Titans coaching staff made a point that the backfield would be split evenly. The actual snap counts were a bit closer with Pollard taking 65% and Spears with 45%, but Pollard getting twice as many touches as Spears was definitely unexpected. Game script could have been part of the story here, with Tennessee attempting to grind the clock with a 17-0 lead going into the second half and utilizing the more punishing runner in Pollard to do so. The former Cowboy looked every bit of the dynamic player he was in Dallas a couple of years ago, highlighted by his 26-yard TD scamper where outraced the second level of the defense and cruised into the end zone untouched. Up next is a tough matchup with the New York Jets coming to town. .

Dynasty | Titans running back Tony Pollard had 82 yards and a touchdown in his Titans debut. Dynasty Analysis: He also added three catches for 12 yards. The bigger story is obvious, though - Pollard had 19 touches on the day and "Co-RB1" Tyjae Spears had just eight. While the sample size is small, this would seem to indicate this race isn't quite as close as many thought. If Pollard continues to get this kind of workload, he's going to be squarely in the RB2 conversation, especially if he produces like he did today. Pollard's arrow seems to be pointing up.

Sep 6 2:00pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard heads to Chicago to face the Bears on NFL opening weekend. Pollard came to Nashville by way of Dallas on a 3-year, $21.75M deal this offseason after an underwhelming year as the Cowboys lead back. He now takes over a Titans backfield that is without superstar workhorse Derrick Henry, but retains the shifty Tyjae Spears who flashed quite a bit last season and should get a sizable workload. Titans Offensive Coordinator Nick Holz recently said the backfield will likely be a 50/50 split which brings Pollard's value down some, but he should still be the 1A to Spears' 1B in the backfield at least to begin the year. Week 1 will be anything but easy traveling to the Chicago and their #1 rushing defense from last year, which should be elite once again in 2024. Consider him a low-end flex for Week 1.

Aug 26 9:50am ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard got into the end zone for his first score of the preseason in the final game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The veteran back finished the game with five carries for 17 yards and a touchdown while collecting 27 yards through the air on two receptions. He may not have the most efficient game to end the preseason, but getting the goalline carry is a good sign. Tyjae Spears is likely to steal at least a handful of snaps every game, but Pollard seems to have at least established a sizeable chunk in the offense. Right now, he's ranked as the 26th running back in half-PPR leagues in the RotoBaller rankings. If he can regain the passing work he once received in Dallas, he may be in for a better year, but it's hard to rely on that heading into the start of the season.

From RotoBaller

Aug 10 10:10pm ET

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed four times for 35 yards during Saturday's preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers. He also hauled in both of his targets for an additional 11 yards through the air. Ultimately, Pollard finished as the Titans' most productive running back despite registering just a few carries. Saturday's preseason matchup doesn't compare to the opponents he'll face in the regular season, but this was a promising sign nonetheless. Pollard is a firm RB2 option heading into the 2024 fantasy football season.
