May 24 1:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington trained harder this offseason and is down 15 pounds from the 223 to 225 pounds he played at in his rookie season. Washington finished 2018 with two 60-plus yard performances in the final three weeks, but his 42.1 percent catch rate (16 receptions on 38 targets) was the worst among Steelers wideouts with at least 10 catches. "I feel like I know more of the plays. ... I feel I'm quicker off the ball," Washington said. "I'm able to run with everybody." Donte Moncrief might have the inside track on the No. 2 job behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, with Eli Rogers in the slot. However, Washington can make some noise as well with Antonio Brown no longer around. Keep an eye on him in deeper leagues.

May 9 2:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR James Washington has reportedly 'slimmed down' this offseason and is expected to play around 210 pounds this season, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Spin: Washington is officially listed at 213, but he appeared to be carrying more weight than that during what was a trying rookie season. The Oklahoma State product did enjoy his two best performances late in the season, giving the team and fantasy owners some hope for 2019. Currently sporting an ADP in the 11th round in PPR leagues, Washington can easily emerge as a value pick in fantasy drafts if he shows the same kind of deep-ball ability he did in college.

Apr 22 8:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR James Washington will have a bigger role in the passing game in 2019, and head coach Mike Tomlin said he expects great things from Washington.

Fantasy Spin: Washington did not have a big role during his rookie season and finished with 16 receptions, 217 yards and one touchdown. He should be a top three receiver for the Steelers this season and will see plenty of targets. He can be a late-round in some fantasy leagues next season.

Feb 15 10:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR James Washington will be 'sitting pretty' to become the No. 2 receiver if WR Antonio Brown doesn't return to the team in 2019.

Fantasy Spin: Washington had a quiet rookie year, but he occasionally flashed the ability to make plays down the field. If Brown is out of the picture, Wahington's numbers could jump up significantly. Keep him in mind as a late-round sleeper.

Dec 31 1:23am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR James Washington finished with a game-high 64 yards receiving and caught all three of his targets in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: Washington was bound to produce a bit more this week with Antonio Brown nursing a knee injury. The rookie did most of his damage on a 47-yard deep strike, but this effort marked the second time in three games he exceeded 60 yards receiving. Washington's path to fantasy stardom is blocked indefinitely by Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, but reports of his strong practices near the end of the season suggest he is starting to pick things up. He should have some deep sleeper appeal in 2019.
