2020 RTSports Outlook

Jackson had one of the best seasons ever for a fantasy quarterback, finishing more than 55 points ahead of the second rated quarterback. He broke a record for rushing yards for a quarterback, topping 1,200-rushing yards. Jackson was sixth overall in rushing, which is remarkable considering he is a quarterback. He also had more than 3,000-passing yards and scored 43 total touchdowns. Jackson had at least 22 fantasy points in all but one game. He was something the league had never seen before. Defenses will game plan in the offseason to try to limit Jackson, but it might be hard to contain this big-time talent. Jackson made big strides as a passer last year and could improve in that area even more in year three. He is a dynamic playmaker as a runner or thrower. He can make plays all over the field because of his athleticism. You have to worry about his durability because of all his carries, but he has held up well to date.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Jackson is likely to see a regression in stats after his huge season but that shouldn't scare away fantasy owners. He is still an elite fantasy quarterback that you can make a case to be the first quarterback selected come draft day. He can throw for around 3,300 yards with 1,000-rushing yards and 40 total scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will likely be the No. 1 signal-caller off the board in the majority of fantasy drafts for this upcoming season. After a decent rookie campaign in 2018, the 23-year-old had a monster year in 2019 by throwing 36 touchdowns, 3,127 yards, and only six interceptions. More impressively, he broke the quarterback single-season rushing record by accumulating 1,206 yards while also adding seven rushing scores to his resume. After a heartbreaking loss to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional round, is another MVP award on the horizon for Jackson? With the Ravens having one of the most complete rosters in the league, the chances are high that we are in store for another dominating season from the former Louisville Cardinal, especially with Baltimore having one of the easiest schedules in the league in 2020.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has his mind set on winning a playoff game in an effort to silence remaining critics following his MVP 2019 campaign. 'I need to win a playoff game before anything because I'm tired of that already,' Jackson said. 'Once I get tired of something, I have to make it happen. So, that's my goal right now; focus on being a better player all around. Not just a (better) player, but teammate as well.'

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is coming off a successful campaign in 2019, which included being named the league's MVP. Though the third-year signal-caller doesn't have much to improve upon as a runner, head coach John Harbaugh is looking for Jackson to "push the ball to spots where the defense is not" in 2020. With many opposing defenses likely to stack the box to stop the run, the door could be open for more passing yards from the 23-year-old at the expense of seeing a slight regression in rushing yards. Nonetheless, he is likely to make some noise on the fantasy end this upcoming year, so fantasy managers should expect him to be the first quarterback off the board in most leagues, regardless of format.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is fine after falling over a jet ski in a video posted on social media, according to a source. In the video, Jackson is running with a football on the beach before running into a parked jet ski and falling headfirst into the water. The 23-year-old was the second unanimous NFL MVP in just his second season in the league last year. Jackson was also the first player in NFL history to gain more than 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in a single season. As a result, he'll likely be the first fantasy QB off the board in drafts this fall. Even though Jackson's numbers may take a slide from a season ago, his dual-threat abilities on the field make him extremely tough to stop.

Jun 8 8:03pm ET

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson threw 11 touchdowns on play-action passes in 2019 and did not record any interception on those passes.

Fantasy Spin: Jackson was one of the top offensive players in the NFL last season and will continue to be a force with is arm and legs. He should be one of the first quarterbacks selected in drafts and will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jun 7 10:50am ET

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is off to an excellent start to his NFL career. The third-year signal-caller already has an MVP award to his name after a dominant 2019 season which saw him toss 36 touchdowns and rush for seven more. The only blemish thus far on Jackson's amazing start to his career is a 0-2 record in the playoffs. The only two quarterbacks to go on to win a Super Bowl after going 0-2 in their first two playoff starts are brothers Peyton and Eli Manning. Baltimore isn't going to sneak up on anyone this season but Jackson remains the fantasy quarterback with the highest upside in the league and is worth selecting as the first signal-caller off the board in fantasy drafts. Ravens fans can only hope that his regular-season success begins to manifest itself in the playoffs beginning this year.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson won the 2019 NFL MVP with a blend of exceptional skills, the right play-calling and a supporting cast that helped make the most of his attributes. The second-year quarterback threw for 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions on play-action passes last season, which was the best TD-to-interception ratio in the league, per Next Gen Stats. Jackson also had 24 touchdown passes and only two picks against the blitz, which was 10 more TD tosses against the blitz than any other QB in the league. He's only 23 years old and already set the single-season rushing record for quarterbacks as well. While it might be tough for Jackson to top his 2019 numbers, his elite dual-threat abilities put him in contention with Patrick Mahomes as fantasy's top QB.

Jun 5 1:40pm ET

Not only did Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson set a new single-season rushing record for QBs in 2019, but he also ranked No. 4 on NFL.com's Nick Shook's list of best quarterbacks under pressure. He had a touchdown-to-interception ratio under pressure of 8:3, which means almost a quarter (22 percent) of his 36 touchdown passes came while under pressure. Jackson had less than 470 passing yards under pressure while also completing 49.2 percent of his 65 pressured attempts. His dual-threat abilities as a passer and runner are what made Baltimore's offense so explosive in 2019, and will for years to come. Jackson is an explosive runner and thrives under pressure as a passer. What else do you want as the No. 1 fantasy QB?

From RotoBaller

Jun 4 12:00pm ET

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the most explosive runner in the league in 2019 based on runs of 10-plus yards (47), 10-plus run percentage (26.7) and 15-plus mph percentage (52.8). He did that on 176 total carries. Jackson was named the 2019 MVP in large part because defenses just couldn't stop him when he took off with the football. His total of 15-plus mph runs of 93 were 20 more than the next closest runner in the league (Dalvin Cook). It was a great season for Jackson, but you'd be wise to expect at least some regression in 2020. But even if Jackson regresses some following his MVP campaign, his upside is through the roof. Either Jackson or Patrick Mahomes will be the first fantasy QB taken in drafts.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson hopefully will try more downfield throws this upcoming season when the team faces one-on-one coverage, according to head coach John Harbaugh. 'Those corners are going to be one-on-one and those safeties are going to be one-on-one against receivers, especially on downfield throws, and we got to make them pay for it,' Harbaugh said. 'I really do believe that's the next step for this offense from an execution standpoint. I really do believe Lamar is going to take the next step and our receivers are going to take the next step.'

Fantasy Spin: Jackson is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and would be an even more valuable fantasy option if he is able to connect on more downfield throws. Hs should be one of the first quarterbacks selected in all drafts and is a must-start option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

May 28 11:00pm ET

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that quarterback Lamar Jackson must make defenses pay if they stack the box against the Ravens offense in 2020. "Those corners are going to be one-on-one and those safeties are going to be one-on-one against receivers, especially on some downfield throws, and we got to make them pay for it. We absolutely have to make them pay," Harbaugh said. Jackson led the league with 36 touchdown passes in the NFL's highest-scoring offense in 2019, also setting an NFL record for rushing yards for a QB with 1,206 on his way to MVP honors. At age 22, he was the youngest QB to win the award. But on throws that traveled at least 15 yards, Jackson ranked 27th in completions (35) and 22nd in completion rate (43.8 percent). He certainly has the arm to make teams pay, and it would be good news for second-year wideouts Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin if Jackson takes the next step as a deep thrower. Even if Jackson runs less than he did a year ago, he should be either the first or second QB selected in fantasy drafts.

From RotoBaller

May 28 8:13pm ET

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson can improve on his MVP 2019 campaign by taking advantage of defenses stacking the box, according to head coach John Harbaugh Thursday, May 28. 'Those corners are going to be one-on-one and those safeties are going to be one-on-one against receivers, especially on some downfield throws, and we got to make them pay for it. We absolutely have to make them pay,' Harbaugh said. 'The ability to make them pay for tilting their defense toward stopping our run game with a really, really efficient passing game. I do believe that's the next step of this offense. I really do believe Lamar is going to take the next step.'

Fantasy Spin: Jackson has plenty of talented pass-catchers with Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin, Willie Snead and rookie Devin Duvernay, and TEs Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle. The reigning MVP certainly doesn't need to improve for fantasy purposes, but he could make his receivers, especially Brown and Boykin, more appealing options.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson's 47 runs of 10-plus yards in the 2019 regular season were more than any other player - running back or quarterback, according to Pro Football Focus.

Fantasy Spin: This is a big reason why some are calling for regression to hit Jackson in 2020. He totaled 1,206 rushing yards with seven touchdowns, so he has plenty of room for regression, and should still be drafted as a top-two fantasy QB.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is hosting teammates for informal workouts in Florida next week. The Ravens were the highest-scoring offense in the league last season and will be returning most of the key components on the offensive side of the ball. Jackson displayed some pinpoint accuracy while Hollywood appeared healthy after having offseason surgery on his foot back in February.
