2024 RTSports Outlook

Henry was second overall in rushing yards and fourth overall in fantasy running back scoring. He got a huge workload once again as the centerpiece of the Titans offense, running the ball 349 times. He has led the league in rush attempts three of four seasons. He also led the league in broken tackles (35), showing his great power once again. Henry had nine 100-yard games and eight gams with 20-plus fantasy points. You have to wonder if his huge workload in recent years is going to catch up with him sooner than later. Henry is built different than most, though, so maybe this shouldn't be a huge concern. We'll see. Henry is a great one-cut runner that can get downhill in a hurry. Henry can be a punishing runner. He lacks some moves in space, but makes up for that with his running style and top speed. Henry doesn't get much work as a receiver, but did have a career-high 33 catches last year.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Henry's huge workload is a concern, but as long as he is playing and on the field, he is an elite fantasy back. It just wouldn't surprise to see him start to slow down a little. All those carries have to catch up with him sooner than later. He can still get around 1,600 total yards with double-digit touchdowns.

RB Derrick Henry said that the Dallas Cowboys never reached out to him during free agency this offseason before he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, according to an interview he did with Adam Schein on the 'Schein on Sports' show on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Radio. Henry makes his offseason home in Dallas and the Cowboys had been rumored to have interest in acquiring him from the Tennessee Titans before the 2023 NFL trade deadline.

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Derrick Henry (Titans) officially agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, March 13. Financial terms were not disclosed, but an earlier report stated the deal is worth $16 million.

Mar 13 12:01am ET

Dynasty | The Ravens have signed running back Derrick Henry to a two-year deal worth up to $20 million Dynasty Analysis: On paper, this seems like a perfect fit. Baltimore is a run-first team with a smash-mouth approach to the game. Henry will pair with Lamar Jackson to likely form the most potent rushing attack in the game. While he is no longer the same player he once was, Henry was still more than effective last season and should have 2-3 more good years left in him. When you consider Gus Edwards was able to post 13 rushing touchdowns last year, it gets even more exciting. Henry's dynasty ranking is almost irrelevant - he's a short-term buy candidate for a contending team, plain and simple.

Mar 12 1:03pm ET

Impending free-agent RB Derrick Henry (Titans) reportedly agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $16 million - including $9 million guaranteed in the first year - with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, March 12. The deal reportedly involves incentives that could allow Henry to earn a maximum of $20 million.

Fantasy Spin: The Ravens are taking a slight risk by rolling the dice on a 30-year-old back, but Henry is not your typical running back in any way, shape or form. In Baltimore, Henry joins one of the few offenses in the league that will not hesitate to run the ball 30-plus times per game. While it is likely someone like Keaton Mitchell (knee) will steal passing-down work from him, Henry will be a strong candidate to push for 300-plus touches yet again in 2024 should his body hold up. The former Tennessee Titan should remain a solid RB1 option in fantasy as a player capable of exceeding 1,500 total yards and 10 touchdowns.

Free-agent running back Derrick Henry is expected to sign a two-year, $16 million deal worth up to $20 million with the Baltimore Ravens, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. King Henry is set to be a full-fledged workhorse in Baltimore's offense, as J.K. Dobbins is a free agent, Gus Edwards signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, and Keaton Mitchell is coming off a late-season torn ACL. The four-time Pro Bowler and former 2,000-yard rusher posted 1,167 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns in one of the worst offenses in the NFL last year. Paired with Lamar Jackson and a superior offensive line, he could be set up for yet another 1,000-yard, double-digit touchdown campaign. His receiving upside will be limited with Jackson, but that hasn't been a strength of his anyway. Despite recently turning 30 years old, an RB1 season in fantasy football is well within reach in 2024.

Both the Baltimore Ravens and free-agent running back Derrick Henry have mutual interest in working something out, according to a source, but an agreement still needs to be reached. Henry wasn't never expected to re-sign with the Tennessee Titans, and that especially won't be the case now that Tony Pollard has joined the Titans. Besides, at this point in his career, King Henry wants to play for a contender, and the Titans don't qualify. The Ravens certainly do, though, and they just lost Gus Edwards to the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency on Monday, so Henry makes a ton of sense for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Henry isn't getting any younger and is probably past his prime, but he could do some serious damage on the ground alongside quarterback Lamar Jackson if he were to join the Ravens.

Impending free-agent RB Derrick Henry (Titans) is receiving interest from Baltimore Ravens, and Henry is believed to have interest in joining the Ravens, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: The Ravens may be losing their top two running backs from this season in free agency, so Henry is a logical target for the team. He will receive most of the work at running back if he signs with Baltimore and can be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Mar 11 1:10pm ET

The Tennessee Titans are not in on re-signing running back Derrick Henry, which was backed up by the fact that they have reached a verbal agreement to sign free-agent running back Tony Pollard on Monday. The Titans also checked out D'Andre Swift before he agreed with the Chicago Bears. After signing Pollard, they are fully expected to muscle up on the offensive line and receiver positions in free agency. Henry was never really expected to be much of an option to return to Tennessee with a new regime in town. The 30-year-old four-time Pro Bowler had over 1,000 rushing yards for the fifth time in the last six years in 2023, adding 12 rushing touchdowns in 17 games. He may be past his prime heading into his age-30 campaign, but he still has the ability to put up RB1 numbers in fantasy, especially if he goes to a contending team like the Texans or Eagles.

Mar 8 8:10pm ET

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry isn't expected to remain with the Titans. Although this isn't a new revelation, it reinforces what has appeared to be in the works for quite some time. The 30-year-old has been a potent presence for fantasy managers, running for 9,502 yards and 90 touchdowns off 2,030 carries in 119 regular season games. During that span, he added 155 catches for 1,458 yards and three touchdowns. It's important to note that while Henry isn't young, he finished the 2023-24 campaign by surpassing the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the fifth time in his career. Even better, he stayed healthy. Nonetheless, Fowler added that the door isn't closed for Henry to remain in Tennessee, considering the team has the money. However, the All-Pro wants a ring, meaning it may benefit him to go elsewhere. But fantasy managers shouldn't dismiss him completely, no matter where he ends up, especially since he could have a few more productive years left.

Tennessee Titans impending free-agent RB Derrick Henry is considered unlikely to re-sign with the Titans this offseason but there is a small chance of the two sides reaching a deal, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: Henry should receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the free-agent market. He will start no matter where he signs and probably will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Feb 28 12:00am ET

While it's unlikely that the Tennessee Titans re-sign impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry this offseason, they aren't completely closing the door on his return yet. A four-year, $50 million deal Henry signed with the Titans in 2020 is set to expire when the new league year opens on March 13. The 30-year-old isn't getting any younger, but he still managed 1,167 rushing yards (second in the NFL) in 2023 behind a subpar offensive line. Henry is chasing a Super Bowl ring at this point in his career, and he'll have a better chance at that somewhere besides Tennessee. In addition, under new head coach Brian Callahan, the Titans figure to be more of a passing offense. The four-time Pro Bowler and former Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 has lots of miles on his body and could begin to start breaking down as he enters his 30s. But in the right situation in 2024, he could still find RB1 appeal in fantasy.

Feb 26 7:00pm ET

The Tennessee Titans won't use their franchise tag on impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry this year, according to league sources. With a new coaching staff coming in this offseason, it wasn't expected that the Titans would make much of an effort to retain King Henry as he heads into his age-30 season. The former second-rounder in 2016 out of Alabama has been a Pro Bowler in four of the last five seasons, although he showed some signs of decline in 2023. He had a league-high 280 carries for 1,167 yards (career-low-tying 4.2 yards per carry) and 12 touchdowns, adding 28 catches for 214 yards and no touchdowns as a pass-catcher. Henry may not age gracefully, but he should still have plenty of fantasy appeal in 2024 with a contending team.

Dynasty | The Titans will not use the franchise tag on running back Derrick Henry. Dynasty Analysis: This should come as no surprise as Henry took the mic at the end of the last Titans game to say goodbye to the only fan base he's ever known. Henry has had a dominant run since entering the league in 2016 but his age (30) indicates the end is near. Dynasty managers are clearly hoping he has one or two more solid years left as he looks to latch in with a contender like Dallas or Baltimore. Time will tell on this one but Henry should be looked upon as a solid contending team target and clearly a player to move on from if your dynasty team isn't in contention.

Dynasty | Titans running back Derrick Henry has been linked to the Baltimore Ravens in free agency. Dynasty Analysis: Add Baltimore to the list of possible destination for Henry, who has essentially said goodbye to Tennessee and will soon be a free agent. The Ravens will likely have a need at the position as JK Dobbins will be returning from another significant injury, Gus Edwards is aging, and Keaton Mitchell is likely best used as a change of pace runner. This is just speculation at the moment but it's clear Henry is going to have a market for his services this off-season.

Dynasty | Free agent running back Derrick Henry is being linked to Dallas this off-season. Dynasty Analysis: Henry was spotted working out recently in Dallas and that's leading to some speculation. It's likely much ado about nothing but the Cowboys could be in the market for a running back after Tony Pollard failed to impress this season. Henry has all but said goodbye to Tennessee and could be a Hall of Famer in the end but he's likely looking to catch on with a contender and chase a Super Bowl ring. His dynasty value will hold until he has a new home but he's much more of a RB2 than a RB1 at this point, regardless of where he ends up.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

The Tennessee Titans hired Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan, the father of new Titans head coach Brian Callahan, as their new offensive line coach on Thursday. Bill Callahan has head-coaching experience with the Las Vegas Raiders and in college at Nebraska and led the Raiders to a Super Bowl appearance in 2002. He's been one of the top offensive line coaches in the NFL and served in that position with the New York Jets (2008-11), Dallas Cowboys (2012-14) and Washington Commanders (2015-19) before spending the last four years in Cleveland. His offensive lines have paved the way for nine 1,000-yard rushers. Bill and Brian Callahan will become the seventh father-son duo to be a head coach in the NFL. The addition of Bill Callahan will be good news for a Titans ground game that is likely to move on from Derrick Henry in 2024.

From RotoBaller

Jan 26 6:20pm ET

New Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said that he'd be fine with impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry returning in 2024. "A player like Derrick Henry fits into any offense. If he's open to a return, that fits for us. I'm never going to reject good players. There's no offense that would say I wouldn't went Derrick Henry," Callahan said. The former Bengals offensive coordinator preferred to lean on the pass in his time in Cincinnati with quarterback Joe Burrow, so it's pretty unlikely that Henry returns to the rebuilding Titans in 2024 and beyond. The 30-year-old is entering the back stretch of his career and will probably prefer signing with a contending team, so we'd be surprised if he returns to Tennessee. King Henry has passed the peak of his powers, but he still finished second in the NFL in rushing yardage in 2023 with 1,167.

From RotoBaller

Jan 19 12:30pm ET

Tennessee Titans impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry isn't shutting the door on a return to the Titans, but he also wants to play for a contender. "I'll always be a Titan, even if I don't come back. At the end of the day, I want to win the Super Bowl. Wherever that is that gives me the best chance, that's what I want to do. I don't have no bad blood or feel no type of way if I'm not back. It's just what was supposed to happen. The story is already written, we're all just living it," Henry said. With the Titans heading into a rebuilding phase after firing head coach Mike Vrabel, it's highly unlikely Henry comes back to Tennessee. The 30-year-old four-time Pro Bowler had five 1,000-yard seasons in his time with the Titans and said he still feels "like I can run for another 2,000."
