Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott led the backfield in carries, yards, and touchdowns on Thursday. He ran the ball seven times, gaining 43 yards and scoring a touchdown. Scott is a possibility for the last running back spot in Philly, but he still has a few weeks to prove that he deserves a 53-man spot. Scott would need multiple injuries ahead of him in order to return fantasy value in 2019.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott "might actually be the front-runner" for the final spot on the Eagles running back depth chart. Jordan Howard, Corey Clement, and rookie Miles Sanders are all locks assuming health, so Scott, Wendell Smallwood, and Josh Adams could all be competing for one final spot. Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia believes that Scott has "a much more complementary collection of skills" including his ability to play on special teams. Scott could be interesting if given a chance to play on offense, but it would likely take two injuries ahead of him for him to earn any significant offensive snaps.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Boston Scott might be the front runner for the final running back spot on the roster. He is one of the few backs on the roster with punt return experience.

Jul 2 2:33am ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB Boston Scott has impressed assistant coach and running backs coach Duce Staley. 'I'm very high on Boston. Being able to see him in OTAs, I'm excited. I'm excited about quick he is, the way he picks up the offense. He does look like a little (Darren Sproles) there at times. But I tell you, he's working hard, he's dedicated. He's watching film,' Staley said.

Fantasy Spin: Scott has an uphill climb for regular touches in the backfield with the likes of Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood and others. At this point he isn't someone to draft, but he is worth monitoring in case the team trades a player or injuries occur.

Jun 5 2:50pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson mentioned running back Boston Scott as a Darren Sproles replacement because of his skill set. Josh Adams, Wendell Smallwood and Scott could be competing for one spot behind Jordan Howard, rookie Miles Sanders and Corey Clement. A sixth-round pick in 2018, Scott was active in only two games as a rookie and didn't touch the ball at all. He's more effective catching the ball out of the backfield, though, so he could make the team based on that skill set. However, he'll be nothing more than a very deep sleeper in PPR leagues if he's on the final roster in a crowded backfield.

Philadelphia Eagles RBs Wendell Smallwood, Josh Adams, Boston Scott and Donnel Pumphrey are likely competing for the team's fourth and final backfield spot, in the opinion of NJ.com's Mike Kaye. The three likely locks are RBs Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders and Corey Clement.
