Dec 11 4:23pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Fantasy Spin: The Falcons are likely just being cautious with Freeman after his first two games back in the lineup. He ran for 84 yards and his first touchdown of the season on 17 carries in Week 14, but he'll have a difficult matchup this week against the San Francisco 49ers and is a No. 2 running back for fantasy purposes.

Dec 11 4:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (knee) was held out of practice on Wednesday. The Falcons are likely just giving Freeman some rest early in the week after he went for 84 yards and his first rushing touchdown of the season on 17 carries in Week 14 against the Panthers. It was a breath of fresh air for his fantasy owners, but he could go right back to being a disappointment in Week 15 against a tough Niners defensive front. Consider Freeman more of a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 for this Sunday at San Francisco. He's one to fade in DFS.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 6:33pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman rushed 17 times for 84 yards and a touchdown vs. the Carolina Panthers in Week 14 on Sunday, Dec. 8. He added four receptions for 10 yards.

Fantasy Spin: A trip to San Francisco is upcoming for the Falcons, and there is little reason to play Freeman in that one. He offers almost nothing without a trip to the end zone, and this performance (4.9 yards per carry, specifically,) was a product of the matchup.

From TheHuddle

Dec 8 4:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman carried the ball 17 times for 84 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Panthers. He also added four catches on four targets for 10 yards. Freeman dominated the carries as usual for the Falcons, with Brian Hill earning nine carries and Qadree Ollison earning four. Freeman's heavy workload makes him a decent RB2 on a weekly basis at this point and he's especially valuable in PPR due to his heavy involvement in the Falcons pass game.

From RotoBaller

Dec 5 10:40am ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman saw a heavy workload in Week 13, following a two-game absence. He had a total of 21 touches in Week 13, including four receptions. He should be similarly featured this week as the team takes on the Panthers. Freeman has greatly struggled from an efficiency standpoint this year, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry on the season. However, his workload has somewhat made up for his struggles and he's performed as an RB2 most of the year. Start him as an RB2 this week and look for him to gain around 80 yards on the day with a solid chance to score a touchdown.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 9:23pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman returned from injury Thursday, Nov. 28, against the New Orleans Saints and led his team with 62 offensive snaps played while RB Brian Hill played 24 of his 41 snaps on offense and Kenjon Barner saw just seven offensive snaps.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman rushed for 51 yards on 17 carries and remains without a rushing score through 10 games played. He'll have an excellent opportunity against the Carolina Panthers in Week 14, now that he's regained the bulk of the playing time.

From TheHuddle

Nov 29 9:00am ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman returned to his featured back role this week after missing the past two games. He had 17 carries for 51 yards and added four catches for 13 yards in the game. Brian Hill was relegated to No. 2 status and only had four carries in the game, while Qadree Ollison, who had scored touchdowns in two straight games, didn't get a single touch. This is back to being Freeman's backfield for now and he'll be worthy of starting in just about all leagues until we see anything change.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 2:03am ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) tallied 17 carries for 51 yards against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, Nov. 28. Freeman added four catches for 13 yards.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman ran hard in his return from a two-game absence, but he wasn't overly effective, averaging just three yards per carry. It's the continuation of a season-long trend, unfortunately, as Freeman has yet to top 90 rushing yards in a game or score on the ground. He's added value off and on in the passing game, but this was not one of those nights. Freeman is best deployed as an RB3 at this point.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 4:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 27, and has been removed from the injury report for Week 13.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman should receive most of the work at running back this week but will be facing a solid New Orleans Saints defense. He can still be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 3:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (foot) is set to return on Thursday against the Saints after missing the last two games with a foot injury, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Freeman had 10 carries for only 38 yards in Week 10 in the first meeting with the Saints. New Orleans has been tough against the run all season, so Freeman will be a low-end RB2 in his return from injury in this one. Brian Hill, who saw an expanded role the last two weeks with Freeman hurt, will return to a backup role.

From RotoBaller

Nov 27 1:53pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) looks great and will play in Week 13 Thursday, Nov. 28, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman has really struggled to find holes and stay healthy. The matchup against the New Orleans Saints isn't great, but he's a flex option only in point-per-reception leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 8:40am ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (foot) returned to practice without limitations on Tuesday and should be good to go for Week 13 against the Saints. Freeman has had a rough year running the ball, but his struggles gained some promising context when the team's running game plummeted even further with him out. Brian Hill served as the team's No. 1 running back the past two weeks and managed just 44 rushing yards on 24 carries. Freeman should return to No. 1 back status and see around 15 touches in the game. The Saints have a tough run defense, but Freeman should be able to do some solid damage through the air. Expect about five catches and a total of 60 or 70 yards from scrimmage for Freeman in his return, making him a decent flex option.

From RotoBaller

Nov 26 4:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (shoulder), TE Luke Stocker (back) and TE Austin Hooper (knee) did not practice Tuesday, Nov. 26. S Sharrod Neasman (shoulder) and DE Takkarist McKinley (shoulder) were limited. CB Desmond Trufant (toe), RB Devonta Freeman (foot), CB Jordan Miller (illness) and DT Tyeler Davison (neck) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Nov 26 3:03pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Spin: It's his second straight day with such a designation, putting him in line to get the nod Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons have been awful at running the football most of the season, but they have been even worse since Freeman got hurt in Week 10. If he can play Thursday, Freeman will be a middling to low-end RB2 in fantasy.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 5:53pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) was limited during practice Monday, Nov. 25. The Falcons did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Freeman has a chance to play in Week 13. He would be a No. 2 running back or flex option if he plays, but players will need other options ready in case he misses another game.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 12:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) is expected to return to practice this week, according to comments made by head coach Dan Quinn on Monday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Spin: The Falcons play at home on Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints, making it very likely Freeman misses a third straight game. Atlanta was having trouble rushing the ball even with Freeman healthy, but the trio of Brian Hill, Qadree Ollison and Kenjon Barner has led a ground game that has somehow only mustered 111 yards on the ground in the last two games combined. Fantasy owners can and should avoid them all in Week 13.

From TheHuddle

Nov 24 11:33am ET

The Atlanta Falcons have declared FS Kemal Ishmael, TE Austin Hooper, DT Deadrin Senat, DL John Cominsky, WR Brandon Powell, RB Devonta Freeman and OL Matt Gono inactive for Week 12.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 5:53pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot), TE Austin Hooper (knee) and S Kemal Ishmael (head) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. CB Kendall Sheffield (illness) did not practice after appearing on the injury report Friday, Nov. 22, and is listed as questionable. DEs John Cominsky (ankle) and Takkarist McKinley (shoulder) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. DE Adrian Clayborn (groin) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday but no longer appears on the injury report. WR Julio Jones (foot), QB Matt Ryan (ankle) and CB Desmond Trufant (toe) were full participants Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 2:03pm ET

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (foot) on Friday, Nov. 22, was ruled out of the team's Week 12 game by head coach Dan Quinn.

Fantasy Spin: As expected, Freeman will miss a second straight game, leaving the Falcons' RB duties to Brian Hill and Qadree Ollison. The latter got the short rushing TD last week, but Hill still received 16 touches and is low-end RB2/flex-worthy.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 1:20pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (foot) has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Buccaneers. He will miss his second straight game, which will put Brian Hill in line to make the start. Freeman should remain rostered in just about all leagues as he should have a chance to return in Week 13 and he'd likely reassume his No. 1 running back duties. Hill got a heavy workload in Week 11, but didn't do much with it, while Qadree Ollison ended up scoring a touchdown as the team's No. 2 running back in the game. Hill is a low-end RB2 or flex option this week.
