Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Cyril Grayson, PK Greg Joseph, QB Josh Rosen and DB Mazzi Wilkins were made protected practice squad players Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially signed former Dolphins and Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen to their practice squad on Tuesday. Rosen, a first-round pick out of UCLA, hasn't lived up to that billing with two different teams so far in his time in the NFL. It's highly unlikely that he'll see the field in 2019 behind future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin, but at least Rosen has a chance to sit and learn behind one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. The 23-year-old has no fantasy value at the moment, and it's even hard to recommend keeping him stashed in deep two-QB dynasty/keeper formats.
Quarterback Josh Rosen signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as part of their practice squad on Sunday. The 2018 first-round pick was released by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday and will now head up the state for his third team after being drafted just a couple of years ago. Rosen was ultimately let go by Miami due to the presence of rookie Tua Tagovailoa, who the team hopes will be the QB of the future. On Tampa, the 23-year-old Rosen will get a chance to learn from legendary QB Tom Brady in hopes of improving his skills. Through two NFL seasons, the California native has 2,845 pass yards, 12 touchdowns, 19 picks, and 151 rush yards.
Free-agent QB Josh Rosen (Dolphins) was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad Sunday, Sept. 6, according to sources.
Free-agent QB Josh Rosen (Dolphins) is not a potential target for the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach Zac Taylor. 'That's not the direction we're headed right now,' Taylor said.
The Miami Dolphins have released quarterback Josh Rosen, which means that if Rosen is on an NFL roster this year, it'll be the third team in three years for the 2018 first round pick. It's been a sharp fall for Rosen, who has completed just 54.8 percent of his passes in his two seasons, with 12 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Rosen will probably sign somewhere, but his best case scenario for 2020 is probably to start the year as a third quarterback. He's not rosterable in redraft leagues and only really has value in Superflex dynasty leagues at this point. This move also signals that rookie Tua Tagovailoa has locked up the No. 2 role behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Miami Dolphins QB Josh Rosen was released Friday, Sept. 4, according to a source.
The Miami Dolphins have fielded trade inquiries in recent days on former first-round quarterback Josh Rosen, according to league sources. Rookie Tua Tagovailoa has looked healthy in training camp, making third-stringer Rosen expendable, with a moving possibly coming this weekend. The former first-round pick of the Cardinals in 2018 has no future in Miami with Ryan Fitzpatrick set to start in Week 1 and Tagovailoa the team's franchise QB of the future. It's unlikely that Rosen will find a starting gig elsewhere at this point after failing with two franchises, but he could be a useful backup in another organization. The 23-year-old from UCLA doesn't even have any dynasty/keeper value at this point.
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in a competition for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Ryan Fitzpatrick with Josh Rosen, and the 'chances are greater' that Rosen will begin the season in that role unless Tagovailoa 'suddenly starts doing some magical things he hasn't shown yet,' in the opinion of the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero.
Teams have called the Miami Dolphins about potentially trading for quarterback Josh Rosen, who is third on the QB depth chart behind Ryan Fitzpatrick and first-rounder Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins are in no hurry to trade Rosen despite the fact that the former first-rounder lost a competition with Fitzpatrick in 2019 in his first year in Miami. The 23-year-old played in six games (three starts) last year and looked lost with a 53.2 percent completion rate on 109 attempts, one touchdown and five interceptions. Rosen has thrown 12 touchdowns against 19 picks in his two seasons in the league and will simply be QB depth for whoever he's playing for in 2020.
Miami Dolphins QB Josh Rosen has been the focus of a few trade calls this offseason, according to NFL Network's Michael Giardi, who also added the Dolphins are reportedly 'in no hurry to trade him.'
