2024 RTSports Outlook

Kelce had another one of his monster seasons, finishing first overall in fantasy tight end scoring by more than 100 points. He was head and shoulders the best fantasy tight end in the game last year. If you put Kelce at the receiver spot, he finishes fourth overall in receiver scoring. It was quite the season for Kelce. He had double-digit fantasy points all but two games. He had seven games with 20-plus fantasy points. Kelce set careers highs in receptions (110) and touchdowns (12). He also topped 1,300 yards for the second time in his career. He has seven straight 1,000-yard seasons and 100-plus catches three of five. Kelce is 33 years old but has not shown many signs of slowing down just yet. Kelce is the top target in the Chiefs explosive passing game. Kelce is a big target with speed, athleticism and plus hands. He also is a good blocker. He really is a complete package at tight end. Kelce is the best all-around tight end in the game.

FANTASY OUTLOOK:   You do have to worry some about Kelce slowing down a little at his age. Plus, he has played a ton of football throughout his career, which is another concern. It would not surprise to see his numbers dip some, but that doesn't mean he won't finish first overall in fantasy tight end scoring. Expect another very good season, making Kelce worth a second-round pick come draft day. He can get around 90 receptions for 1,100 yards and double-digit scores.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who caught nine passes for 93 yards in the win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, said after the big game that he would return for another season rather than retire on top. The 34-year-old has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last nine years and is one of the best players at his position of all time, but he did show plenty of signs of slowing down in 2023. Kelce finished the regular season under 1,000 yards receiving for the first time since 2015, although he also missed two games (one due to injury). He also had just five receiving touchdowns, his fewest since 2019, and had some uncharacteristic drops along the way. Kelce will remain a high-end TE1 in fantasy in 2024 as the Chiefs go for a three-peat, but he's not going to be the overall TE1 entering fantasy drafts this fall.

Dynasty | Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had nine catches for 93 yards in the Chiefs Super Bowl win against San Francisco. Dynasty Analysis: Kelce was stuck on one catch for what seemed like an eternity but he came alive in the second half and OT to help the Chiefs secure the win. He posted a 32/355/3 line in his four post-season games, showing he still has a lot left in the tank.. However, his 93/984/5 from the regular season shows he may be a little more selective and protected in the regular season moving forward. While some other tight ends have caught up to him, there are few weapons better at the position moving forward and Kelce has indicated he has no plans to retire, making dynasty managers breathe a sigh of relief.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce overcame a quiet first half in Super Bowl LVIII to lead his team with 93 receiving yards on nine catches (10 targets) in Sunday's 25-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers, raising the third Lombardi Trophy of his illustrious career. The Niners bottled up Kelce for one yard in the first two quarters, but they had a hard time holding down the future Hall of Famer after Dre Greenlaw (Achilles) went down. Kelce kept K.C.'s offense on schedule throughout the second half, moving the chains for five first downs as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' obvious go-to target. The wheels were starting to fall off late in the regular season for Kelce, but his stellar playoffs told a different story. Just when it seemed his 2024 fantasy ADP would come in at a discount, the 34-year-old superstar totaled 32 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns in four playoff games. We'll cross that bridge when we get there, but Kelce will be 35 this October.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is saving his best for last this postseason. Kelce has significantly upped each of his catches per game (7.7), yards per reception (11.4), catch rate (85.2%), yards per route run (2.59), and touchdown rate (13.0%) from the regular season. The 34-year-old future Hall of Famer participates in his fourth career Super Bowl on Sunday in Las Vegas against the San Francisco 49ers, who allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game (9.92) to opposing TEs in the regular year. But Tucker Kraft found the end zone during the Divisional Round in San Fran, while Sam LaPorta tagged the Niners for nine catches and 97 yards in the NFC Championship game. Kelce looks to be the latest to victimize them in the big game, and he's recorded 22 receptions for 257 yards and two scores in three lifetime Super Bowl appearances. Additionally, Kelce owns 28 catches for 375 yards and one TD in four career outings at Allegiant Stadium.

Chiefs' TE Travis Kelce scored 29.10 fantasy points in Sunday's playoff win in Baltimore. Kelce caught 11 passes for 116 yards with one touchdown. Kelce scored at least 25 fantasy points two times during the regular season.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce recently confirmed he intends to play in 2024.

Fantasy Spin: He's no longer the top dog at the position with Sam LaPorta's breakout in 2023, but Kelce remains a top-two option at the position in drafts.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce dominated as the team downed the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in Sunday's AFC Championship contest, catching all 11 of his targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. Kelce's second half may have been quiet, but his monster first half had a little bit of everything. The 34-year-old All-Pro came down with a clutch fourth-down pass, showed off tremendous body control to reel in his score, made a bit of a circus catch with quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the run, and set a new postseason record for all-time receptions by passing Jerry Rice on his seventh grab. Kelce hauled in each of his nine targets for 96 yards before calming down, but Sunday marked his first outing with double-digit catches since Week 7. With the win, Kelce and the Chiefs moved on to their fourth Super Bowl in the last five years and will defend their crown when they meet the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Feb. 11 for the big game.

Jan 26 11:20pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce enjoyed his best fantasy effort since a Week 7 eruption with two touchdowns during the Divisional Round victory over the Buffalo Bills, but he's had no problem thrashing the Bills in recent years. In Sunday's AFC Championship contest against the Baltimore Ravens, however, Kelce will encounter a much more difficult task. Per DraftKings scoring, Baltimore's defense ranks fourth against TEs. But in five career games against the Ravens, Kelce has caught at least six balls and exceeded 70 yards in each outing. The 34-year-old superstar's $6,600 salary tops his position on Sunday, and only George Kittle holds a candle to Kelce in terms of DFS status. With rookie receiver Rashee Rice lined up to frequently battle with All-Pro defensive back Kyle Hamilton in the slot, quarterback Patrick Mahomes may need to turn to Kelce early and often to combat this vaunted Ravens unit.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce picked the right time for his first two-touchdown game of the year as his team escaped Sunday's Divisional Round with a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills, leading his team with 75 receiving yards on five catches (six targets). Kelce delivered two strong hookups with quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the first half, and the superstar signal-caller just missed him in the corner of the end zone in the second quarter. But Mahomes connected with him later in the period, finding Kelce wide open on busted coverage. Kelce later took a short screen pass near the goal line and found an opening in traffic for another score, with Sunday marking the 34-year-old All-Pro's first game with a TD since Week 10. In three career playoff outings against the Bills, Kelce now owns 26 catches for 289 yards and five TDs. He'll hope for a repeat performance when the Chiefs visit the Baltimore Ravens in next Sunday's AFC Championship meeting.

Jan 20 1:30am ET

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 71 yards in the wild-card win over the Miami Dolphins, but his late-season case of the drops dragged into the playoffs. Kelce committed the third-most drops (six) among TEs in 2023, tallying two more in his last time out. Closing the regular season with the fewest yards per catch (10.6) of his decorated career, the 34-year-old four-time All-Pro remains fantasy's PPR TE1 but has looked his age at times during the campaign's second half. Rookie Rashee Rice is perhaps the superior DFS play in the Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills, but Kelce has utterly dominated Buffalo in their last six meetings all told. Piling up 46 catches, 527 yards, and six touchdowns, Kelce is averaging a whopping 7.7 catches and 87.8 yards over this period. With Kelce topping the prices at $6,000 on DraftKings, DFS players are searching for an encore if paying up for the slate's top choice.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's scoreless drought dragged into the playoffs in Saturday's 26-7 wild-card victory over the Miami Dolphins, but he hauled in seven of his 10 targets for 71 yards. Patrick Mahomes tried to get the struggling Kelce involved early, and despite his strong five catches for 55 yards in the box score during the first half, Kelce left some yards on the field. The 34-year-old four-time All-Pro came down with a key 11-yard pass on third-and-long during K.C.'s first series and then jump-started a scoring drive in the second quarter with a 22-yard gain, but he committed at least two fairly blatant drops on Saturday. Kelce also witnessed a six-game postseason scoring streak get snapped against the Dolphins. In search of his first touchdown since Week 11, Kelce will next do battle either in Buffalo against the Bills or at Arrowhead Stadium versus the Houston Texans for next weekend's Divisional showdown.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce fell just shy of his eighth straight 1,000-yard year, bookending his season with missed games, but he still closed as the overall TE1 in PPR fantasy points per game (14.1). The 34-year-old nine-time Pro Bowler pushed for a career year initially but slowed down in his final nine games, averaging 5.0 catches (6.9 targets) for 51.0 yards with just one total touchdown. DFS players paying up for Kelce in Saturday's wild-card tilt versus the Miami Dolphins will hang their hats on his spectacular averages of 7.4 catches for 86.0 yards with sixteen total scores across 18 lifetime postseason games. Miami shut Kelce down for his season low with 14 yards in Week 9's matchup, but the Fins have been gashed for 167 yards and four TDs by opposing TEs in the past two weeks. Due to forecasted below-freezing temperatures and blustery winds, however, Kelce carries some added risk under these conditions.

Jan 12 12:50pm ET

Regardless of how the Kansas City Chiefs perform in the playoffs, tight end Travis Kelce expects to be back with the team in 2024. "I have no reason to stop playing football, man," the 11-year veteran and future Hall of Famer said. "I love it, we still have success and I come in with the right mindset. I just love the challenge it gives me every single day to try to be at my best. I have no desire to stop anytime soon." Kelce is the team's longest-tenured player, but he's played through injuries in 2023 and has seen a slight dip in production while also dealing with the hoopla of starting a relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift. The 34-year-old has scored just one touchdown in the past nine games and has been slowed down with extra defenders covering him. But he still finished the regular season with 93 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns to finish as the TE2 in fantasy, and Kelce will remain a high-end fantasy tight end for playoff leagues.

Dynasty | Travis Kelce has indicated he'll return to the Chiefs next season and has no plans to retire. Dynasty Analysis: Now 34, there are going to be rumors of Kelce retiring after every season moving forward. At this point, it seems he has no plans to do so despite having obvious post-career options with a very successful podcast and a very public relationship with singer Taylor Swift. Kelce had his streak of 1,000-yard seasons snapped this year and scored only five times, yet was still tied as the TE1 overall. His days as the overall TE1 are all but over with players like TJ Hockenson and Sam LaPorta rising but Kelce should be a top option moving forward.
