The Carolina Panthers Defense capitalized in Week 3 against a team starting a rookie quarterback on the Chargers. Carolina notched two sacks, eight quarterback hits, one pick, and three fumble recoveries. While this was an encouraging performance for a team that gave up over 30 points in the first two games, this type of performance should not be expected each week. The Panthers' defense is still a very young and inexperienced unit, and they face a tough test in a rising Cardinals team next week.

The Carolina Panthers Defense will likely draw a matchup against Chargers rookie QB Justin Herbert this Sunday. While it may seem tempting to roll out this defense, it's important to consider the rookie performed quite well against the Chiefs last week and threw for over 300 yards. In addition, the Panthers just allowed over 30 points in both of their games and still have a very young and inexperienced group. This defense is not worth streaming this week.

The Carolina Panthers Defense allowed 31 points to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Week 2 loss. To make matters worse, Carolina didn't record a sack, but they did manage to pick up a fumble recovery and an interception. There may not be many promising days with this unit this year in fantasy, though there may be some weeks where they could be streamed. Perhaps they could be streamed in Week 3 against the Chargers, depending upon who they declare as their starting quarterback.
