2019 RTSports Outlook

Gore hurt his foot late in the year and missed the last two games. He started much of the rest of the season, though, and produced decent numbers in that starting role. He ran for more than 700 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry, which was highest yards per carry total since 2009. The fantasy issue for Gore was a lack of scores, scoring just one touchdown in 14 games despite starting. Gore is 36 years old and doesn't plan to retire but you have to wonder what role he can play at this stage of his career. He will need to prove he has something left in the tank during camp and preseason action to earn a role with his new team, the Bills. In his prime, Gore was an explosive back. He has good speed and moves in the open field. He has big-play potential and does well in the passing game. His game has slipped some in recent years but he has shown he can still help.

FANTASY OUTLOOK:   It would be a shock to see Gore repeat last year. He will be lucky to get 500 total yards in a reserve role for the Bills. Go with younger options with more upside.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Sophomore running back Kalen Ballage impressed in limited action in 2018, rumbling to 5.3 yards per carry over 36 rushes while also tacking on nine catches for 56 yards. Ballage had two games with double-digit carries, and in Week 15 against the Vikings he turned 12 carries into 123 yards and a score. With Frank Gore no longer a factor in Miami and the franchise in full rebuild mode, expect Ballage to take over as the primary mail-carrier in South Beach while Kenyan Drake handles the bulk of the receiving work and spells Ballage on the ground. Given the holes in the Dolphins roster, don't expect Ballage to ascend into the top 20 running backs in 2019, but he should carry legitimate flex value throughout 2019 with the opportunity for much more should Kenyan Drake miss time at any point.

Rival teams believe the Buffalo Bills could release someone from the group of RBs LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon, according to MMQB's Albert Breer, who notes that McCoy is set to earn far more money than Gore or Yeldon.

Fantasy Spin: Barring injury, Devin Singletary is going to make the 53-man roster. Beyond that, training camp will sort things out, though Yeldon seems the most like casualty at this stage.

In a recent interview, 36-year-old Buffalo Bills running back Frank Gore told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he has a wait-and-see approach to his career going forward. I just go how I feel, he said in the interview, If I feel I cant do it no more, then I call it. Gore is the NFL's fourth all-time leading rusher with 14,748 career rushing yards. Last year with Miami, he rushed for 722 yards on 156 carries, good for a stellar 4.6 yards per carry, his highest YPC mark since 2012. He figures to be the primary backup to LeSean McCoy and shouldn't be drafted in standard leagues unless McCoy gets hurt or traded in the coming months.

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy said he has been 'begging' the front office to sign RB Frank Gore for the last two seasons.

Fantasy Spin: Even after 14 years in the league, Gore can still be a steady runner between the tackles. As long as he is healthy, McCoy should at least be a flex option as the lead back, but Gore and rookie Devin Singletary will eat into his workload a bit.

Buffalo Bills RB Frank Gore said Saturday, July 6, he's not heading into the 2019 season thinking it's his last in the NFL. 'I just go how I feel,' said Gore at his football and cheer camp. 'If I feel I can't do it no more, then I call it.'

Fantasy Spin: Gore, 36, heads into the season competing with fellow veteran LeSean McCoy and rookie Devin Singletary for touches in the Bills' backfield. Gore likely won't be worth drafting, but he could prove to be a bye-week option later in the season.

From TheHuddle

Jul 1 1:43am ET

Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary split first-team reps with RBs Frank Gore and LeSean McCoy during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. The competition for snaps should heat up heading into training camp and the preseason.

Fantasy Spin: Singletary is a rookie out of Florida Atlantic who posted 4,287 rushing yards at 6.0 yards per carry and 66 rushing touchdowns in three years of college is a real wild card in Western New York. If he emerges like the club hopes, it could make LeSean McCoy and his price tag expendable. Target 'Motor' as a RB4 in fantasy drafts, and hope that he pushes 'Shady' to the curb and rises to RB2 or flex status.

Buffalo Bills RBs LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore and Devin Singletary rotated snaps with the first-team throughout offseason practices. Bills.com writer Nate Mendelson believes the competition for snaps will 'heat up during training camp.'

Fantasy Spin: It seems only a matter of time before Buffalo moves on from McCoy, but the Bills would be doing themselves a disservice by not making sure Singletary is ready to handle the rigors of the job first. McCoy is entering the final year of his contract and should lead the backfield in touches, but there's a distinct possibility this will end up being a committee. It's quite possible none of the three will consistent enough in fantasy to be an every-week starter.

Buffalo Bills RB Frank Gore landed on the team motivated to be a factor, and he showed up in phenomenal shape during the spring.

From TheHuddle

Buffalo Bills RBs LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore and Devin Singletary all received snaps with the first-team offense during practice Tuesday, June 11.

Fantasy Spin: It appears like the Bills may go with a committee at running back this season, so fantasy players should monitor the situation during training camp. McCoy may have the most fantasy value among the group but probably is only a No. 3 running back at this point.

From TheHuddle

May 21 6:23pm ET

Buffalo Bills RB Frank Gore (foot, ankle) is not participating in practices because he is coming off foot and ankle injuries.

Fantasy Spin: Gore is part of a crowded backfield in Buffalo, so his role is uncertain at this point. He has posted solid numbers over the last few seasons and could be a late-round pick in standard leagues if he receives a solid role in the running game.

From TheHuddle

May 4 2:43am ET

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is someone that could be traded before this year's deadline, in the opinion of ESPN's Bill Barnwell, who notes the team signed free-agent RBs Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon and also drafted RB Devin Singletary in Round 3.

Fantasy Spin: It's not hard to connect the dots, something we noted even after GM Brandon Beane publicly endorsed McCoy as his starter following the Singletary selection. McCoy is older, has a lot of mileage on his body, struggled last season and is owed a decent chunk of change. If the team can flip McCoy for a draft pick you have to figure they'd be tempted -- Barnwell opines McCoy could be a fit for Andy Reid with the Kansas City Chiefs. McCoy is already no better than an RB3, and his situation is one to monitor as the season draws near.

Free-agent RB Frank Gore (Dolphins) officially signed with the Buffalo Bills Wednesday, March 13.

From TheHuddle

Mar 11 11:40pm ET

The Buffalo Bills and free-agent running back Frank Gore (Dolphins) have agreed on a one-year deal worth $2 million, a source said Monday. Gore showed he still has plenty left in the tank, even in his mid-30's, registering 722 rushing yards in 14 games in Miami last season. While he failed to score a rushing touchdown for the first season of his career. Gore averaged 4.6 yards per tote which was his best mark since 2012 when he was a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He isn't a bellcow any longer, but more of a complementary piece to LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory. It's an aging backfield, and not exactly a durable one. Gore should go for maybe 500 yards on the ground, making him a late-round target and handcuff for Shady owners in 2019.

The Buffalo Bills have the three oldest running backs currently under contract in the NFL after the agreement to sign Miami Dolphins impending free-agent RB Frank Gore. RBs LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory are both turn 31 before the 2019 season begins, while Gore turns 36 years old May 14.

Miami Dolphins impending free-agent RB Frank Gore agreed to terms on a one-year, $2 million deal with the Buffalo Bills Monday, March 11, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Gore, of course, will be splitting time with fellow veteran LeSean McCoy. Look for Gore to primarily see short-yardage and goal-line carries. He's an iron man, but don't draft Gore as more than a flex.

Impending free-agent RB Frank Gore (Dolphins) intends to continue his playing career regardless of whether or not the Miami Dolphins want to re-sign him, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

From TheHuddle

Feb 18 8:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins running backs coach Eric Studesville said he is not sure if impending free-agent RB Frank Gore will receive a contract offer from the Dolphins this offseason.

Fantasy Spin: Gore had a solid season in 2018 with 722 yards but failed to record a rushing touchdown. It is not known if he will be able to find a starting job this offseason but would be a good No. 2 running back for a team. He will have some fantasy value in standard leagues if he finds a good situation.
