Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (foot) will not require surgery on his foot injury and will be a free agent at the end of the season. However, the 35-year-old Gore has no plans to retire and intends to return for a 15th season in 2019, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Spin: Gore continues to stiff-arm Father Time and showed enough this year to warrant another one-year deal as an early-down pounder and strong influence in the locker room, whether it be in Miami or somewhere else. He will be difficult to trust as a player set to turn 36 in May regardless of where he ends up, but he figures to make a reasonable bench stash on fantasy benches.

Dec 21 2:00pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore (foot), who was placed on injured reserve after suffering a foot sprain in Miami's 41-17 loss to Minnesota in Week 15, will not require surgery. Gore told reporters he hopes to return to Miami in 2019. Gore will be 36 by Week 1 of next season, but he's proven to be an effective rusher even with heavy mileage on his body. His 4.6 yards-per-carry was his highest since 2012 and the highest among running backs over 30-years-old. Gore would likely be welcomed back to Miami next season, and if not he could certainly find another team will to give him a chance in the preseason.

Dec 21 12:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (foot) will not need surgery on his injured foot, according to a source, and is expected to be 100 percent in a few weeks.

Fantasy Spin: Good news for the ultra-tough, 35-year-old Gore, who has already been placed on the Reserve/Injured list and will still be unavailable even if the Dolphins somehow sneak into the playoffs.

Dec 19 5:30pm ET

As expected, the Miami Dolphins placed running back Frank Gore (foot) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday with a foot sprain. The 35-year-old curiously touched the ball more than Kenyan Drake in Miami's frustrating offense this year and ran the ball 156 times for 722 yards (4.6 yards per carry) and no touchdowns. He added 12 receptions for 124 yards and one score. It's fair to wonder if his first season in Miami will be the last of his decorated career. Rooke Kalen Ballage saw the most work in Week 15 after Gore left the game, meaning he could be the one to own down the stretch as the Dolphins refuse to let Drake show what he has.

Dec 19 12:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Kalen Ballage broke out with a 12-123-1 line last week, and he could get an extended look. Grab him if he's still on waivers.

Dec 17 2:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (foot) is expected to miss the rest of the season with a sprained foot, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Gore's durability is almost legendary, as his expected absence will end his consecutive-games streak at 126. It's also possible Week 15 will be the last time we see him, as he turns 36 in May. Rookie Kalen Ballage burst onto the scene following Gore's injury Sunday, finishing with 123 yards rushing and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Owners should expect Ballage to fill Gore's old role in Week 16, which makes him worth adding off waivers in fantasy this week.

Dec 17 12:50pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore (foot) is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing more tests on his sprained foot, according to a source. The ageless 35-year-old surprisingly saw more touches than Kenyan Drake this year and finishes with 156 carries for 722 yards (4.6 yards per carry), but he found the end zone just once (on a catch). Drake wasn't even the lead back after Gore's injury on Sunday, as rookie Kalen Ballage led the team in rushing and looked good. Don't be surprised if Ballage and Brandon Bolden see more run in the final two games of the year over Drake, who has continued to battle a nagging shoulder injury down the stretch. Ballage will be one of the more popular waiver additions this week. It's fair to wonder if this will be Gore's final season in the NFL.

Dec 17 2:53am ET

Updating previous reports, Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (foot) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his sprained foot Monday, Dec. 17, to determine if he suffered any ligament damage, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Spin: Keep an eye out for an update to see if Gore will take the field in Week 16, though with 151 carries this season and no TDs he's not the greatest option regardless of health.

Dec 16 3:30pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore (foot) suffered a foot sprain in Week 15 against the Vikings and was ruled out for the rest of the game, according to a source. X-rays on his foot came back negative, but his availability for the final two games of the season will be up in the air. Gore had five carries for 14 yards in the game before departing. He has seen more work than Kenyan Drake this year but hasn't really capitalized on it. If Gore cannot return in the final two weeks, it'll give Drake more appeal as an RB2, although he could share touches with rookie Kalen Ballage and Brandon Bolden.

Dec 16 3:03pm ET

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (foot) has been diagnosed with a foot sprain and will not return to the Week 15 game, according to a source. Gore underwent X-rays on his foot, but they were negative.

Fantasy Spin: Owners will need to monitor the situation over the next week to see if Gore has a chance to play in Week 16. Kalen Ballage and Kenyan Drake would share playing time at running back if Gore is ruled out and both can be flex options.

Dec 16 2:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the team's Week 15 game Sunday, Dec. 16. His return is listed as questionable.

Fantasy Spin: The veteran back had five early carries for 14 yards but left after being tackled awkwardly on a run. Kenyan Drake and Brandon Bolden are in line to pick up the slack if Gore can't return.

Dec 16 12:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore has rushed for the 10th-most yards (708) for a player with no touchdowns in league history. The last players to rush for at least 700 yards and no scores were Marcel Shipp (830 with the 2003 Arizona Cardinals) and Michael Pittman (751 with the 2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

Fantasy Spin: Gore leads the Dolphins in rushing attempts (151) and touches (163), but it's fellow RB Kenyan Drake who's totaled nine TDs to Gore's one (a receiving score) on the season and is the better fantasy play, although both are low-end flex options.

Dec 15 2:10pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore must take on a tough defense in Week 15, as the Dolphins face the Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota. The Vikings have allowed the eighth-fewest points per game to opposing running backs along with the seventh-fewest yards per carry. Gore has done well with his carries this year; his 4.7 yards-per-carry average is his highest since 2012. Unfortunately, Gore hasn't scored a single rushing touchdown all season, which makes him a low-ceiling flex against a strong rush defense.

Dec 14 2:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Gore has been a solid contributor for the Dolphins this season but still has not posted a rushing touchdown yet. He has rushed for at least 90 yards in two of the last four games and could be a flex option in standard leagues in Week 15.

Dec 14 1:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins CB Xavien Howard (knee) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Week 15 versus the Minnesota Vikings. S T.J. McDonald (ankle) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 14, but is listed as questionable. WR Danny Amendola (knee), QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder, ankle) and OT Laremy Tunsil (knee) remained limited at practice Friday but no longer appear on the injury report. CB Cornell Armstrong (ankle), LS John Denney (finger), RB Kenyan Drake (shoulder), RB Frank Gore (non-injury), OT Ja'Wuan James (quad), FS Reshad Jones (shoulder), WR DeVante Parker (shoulder) and C Travis Swanson (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Dec 13 4:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Spin: Gore has played well this season and is coming off one of his better performances in Week 14. He will continue to receive a majority of the carries for the Dolphins and can be at least a flex option in standard leagues.

Dec 13 12:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (non-injury) received a veteran's rest day off practice Thursday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Spin: While the veteran Gore continues to pace the Dolphins in rushing attempts on a weekly basis, Kenyan Drake continues to have a near monopoly on TDs and big plays and is the better fantasy option in the Miami backfield. Gore has one TD on the season and is a desperation flex play at best.

Dec 9 5:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore rushed for 92 yards on 12 carries against the New England Patriots in Week 14. He also caught one pass for 24 yards during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Gore bounced back after a disappointing Week 13 performance and rushed for at least 90 yards for the second time in four games. He can be a low-end No. 2 running back or flex option in most leagues next week.

Dec 9 4:40pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore had his second-highest yardage total of the season in Miami's 34-33 victory over New England in Week 14. Gore rushed 12 times for 92 yards and caught one pass for 24 yards on the day. While he was out-shined by Kenyan Drake's miracle touchdown at the end of the game, Gore had himself a nice day as well. He still failed to find the end zone and hasn't scored since Week 4, cementing his status as a low-end flex. He faces a tough Vikings defense in Week 15.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 12:40am ET

Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore is a low-end flex option in Week 14 against New England. Gore is coming off a disappointing game last week against Buffalo, totaling just 31 yards. Gore also has not scored a rushing touchdown all season, which makes him unexciting in a matchup against New England. The Patriots have allowed the ninth-fewest points to opposing running backs this season, and with New England a -7.5 favorite Gore won't get many opportunities. Look elsewhere if possible for a flex
