Feb 15 11:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold's 80.7 Total QBR over the final four weeks of the 2018 season was the best mark in the NFL.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold has his share of ups and downs as a rookie, but the strong finish could be a glimpse of what's to come. He should be viewed as a QB2 for now, but he could make the jump to QB1 sooner rather than later, especially if the Jets add some offensive weapons this offseason.

Feb 10 12:43pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold has a bright future, according to former standout CB Darrelle Revis. 'I think he (Darnold) can bring a Super Bowl in the near future for the Jets,' Revis told TMZ last week in Atlanta before Super Bowl LIII. 'It's going to take some time, but I feel like he's capable of doing it.'

Fantasy Spin: As a rookie last season, Darnold threw for 2,865 yards, 17 TDs and 13 interceptions in 13 games while compiling a 4-9 QB won-loss record. Still, playing with a depleted surrounding cast and not much help, Darnold was better than the numbers showed and will be on the QB2 radar this summer.

Feb 1 9:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold said he is 'excited' to work with head coach Adam Gase and believes Gase can make him a better quarterback. 'I think he's going to help me with everything, mechanics, but mainly how to play the position in the NFL,' Darnold said.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold had an inconsistent rookie year, but his potential flashed at times. Another year of experience should only help, especially if the Jets add some more weapons in the offseason. Consider him a QB2 heading into 2019.

Jan 23 8:10pm ET

The New York Jets officially hired Dowell Loggains as their next offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach on Wednesday. Loggains has worked under head coach Adam Gase in both Chicago and Miami. With Gase likely running the show on offense, Loggains' main task will be to continue the development of quarterback Sam Darnold, who was very up and down in his rookie season. The Jets ranked 29th in yards per game (299.2), 25th in passing yards (197.8), 26th in rushing yards (101.4) and 23rd in the league in points per game (20.8) in 2018.

Jan 9 11:20pm ET

The New York Jets are expected to hire former Dolphins offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains as the main offensive assistant to new head coach Adam Gase, according to sources. Loggains was Miami's offensive coordinator under Gase in 2018 and also worked with him in Chicago. Loggains' main job, alongside Gase, will be to develop quarterback Sam Darnold as he enters his second year in the NFL. He will likely have a couple new toys to play with in free agency, too, as the Jets have a bunch of salary cap space to use this offseason.

Dec 30 10:20pm ET

The New York Jets fired head coach Todd Bowles on Sunday following their blowout Week 17 loss to the Patriots after his fourth season with the team. Bowles finishes with a 24-40 record in his time with Gang Green after going 10-6 in his first year in 2015. The Jets will be overhauling their coaching staff in the offseason and also have roughly $106 million in salary cap space, so they will be looking to add plenty of weapons around quarterback Sam Darnold. Darnold, the No. 3 overall pick, had his ups and downs in his rookie year but should be able to improve with better weapons around him.

Dec 30 4:23pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold went 16-for-28 for 167 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 17. He also rushed for 28 yards on one carry during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold played well at times this season and will finish the season with 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He likely will have a new head coach and offensive coordinator to work with next season but probably should only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in 2019.

Dec 28 5:23pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold has played well over the last several weeks but will be facing a solid New England Patriots defense this week. He can be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues but likely will be avoided in most standard leagues.

Dec 27 6:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold is coming off one of his best games of the season and has thrown five touchdowns in the last two games. He could have some success against the New England Patriots but probably should only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.

Dec 26 5:33pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold appears to be fine for the regular-season finale against the Patriots, but he is still nothing more than a QB2 in seasonal fantasy leagues for Week 17.

Dec 26 5:23pm ET

New York Jets CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder, ankle), WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle), CB Trumaine Johnson (not injury related), WR Jermaine Kearse (Achilles'), PK Jason Myers (hip), DL Mike Pennel (tooth) and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26. LB Jordan Jenkins (ankle) was a limited participant, while WR Robby Anderson (ankle), OT Kelvin Beachum (knee), QB Sam Darnold (foot), OL Jonotthan Harrison (wrist), TE Jordan Leggett (knee), C Spencer Long (back, knee, finger) and CB Buster Skrine (shoulder) were each able to practice in full.

Dec 25 1:00pm ET

New York Jets' QB Sam Darnold scored 29.45 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 16 loss against the Packers. Darnold threw for 341 yards on 24-of-35 with three touchdowns.

Dec 23 9:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold completed 24 of his 35 passes for a career-high 341 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-38 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: Although the Jets ended up losing, Darnold delivered what is probably his best performance so far. A strong finish to the year could help set the stage for a big leap out of him in 2019.

Dec 23 5:30pm ET

Jets' QB Sam Darnold passed for 341 yards on 24-of-35 with three touchdowns in Sunday's loss against the Packers.

Dec 21 6:13pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) practiced in full for a third straight day Friday, Dec. 21 and he is off the injury report heading into Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold should be treated as a QB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into this head-to-head battle against Aaron Rodgers and the Pack, although he is a tremendous option in dynasty leagues heading into 2019 and beyond.

Dec 21 4:43pm ET

New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 16 versus the Green Bay Packers. LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) also did not participate in practice all week and is listed as doubtful. LB Jordan Jenkins (ankle) and DB Darryl Roberts (toe) were limited participants in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and are listed as questionable. WR Robby Anderson (ankle, back), OT Kelvin Beachum (knee), RB Trenton Cannon (toe), CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder), QB Sam Darnold (foot), OL Jonotthan Harrison (wrist), WR Jermaine Kearse (calf), TE Jordan Leggett (knee), OL Spencer Long (toe, knee, finger), RB Elijah McGuire (ankle, quad), CB Buster Skrine (shoulder), TE Eric Tomlinson (Achilles'), DL Leonard Williams (elbow) and OL Brian Winters (finger) fully participated in practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Dec 20 5:33pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold is coming off a solid Week 15 performance but probably should only be considered a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.

Dec 20 1:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold's late-season play is drawing good reviews from offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates. 'He's getting more comfortable,' Bates said Thursday, Dec. 21. 'He's playing faster, he's dissecting quicker, he's playing with confidence and he's having fun.'

Fantasy Spin: The rookie is coming off one of his best games of the season (253 yards, 2 TDs, no interceptions, season-high 35 rushing yards) in the Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans, and is a solid two-QB-league starting consideration this Sunday against the not-so-formidable Green Bay Packers.

Dec 19 6:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Darnold is coming off one of his better games of the season but has thrown at least two touchdowns in only one of his last five games. He could be a possible option in two-quarterback leagues but should be avoided in all standard leagues.

Dec 15 8:13pm ET

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns in a loss versus the Houston Texans Saturday, Dec. 15.

Fantasy Spin: It wasn't pretty, but the rookie performed well overall against one of the NFL's best defenses. He spread the ball around well, too, finding nine different targets. There are still raw aspects in his game, but he could be an every-week QB1 candidate in a year or two.
