Uzomah did not have more than 50 yards in a game last year but did rack up 21 receptions, his first season with the Jets. He did get some consistent work with New York. Uzomah did have one game with double-digit fantasy points. He was pretty quiet much of the year, though, and is setup for a similar reserve role this season with the Jets. Uzomah has 20-plus receptions four of five seasons. Uzomah is a very big tight end with good size and strength. His hands aren't the best and he lacks some speed. He is more of a possession receiver and red-zone threat. He also does well as a blocker, helping keep him on the field.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Uzomah could get a few more catches in what should be a better passing game this year, but he also will have more to compete with for targets. He will be hit or miss once again. Look for around 20 catches for 200 yards and a score or two.

Free-agent tight end C.J. Uzomah, the former starter for the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets, is expected to sign an undisclosed one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Uzomah flew to Philadelphia on Thursday and passed his physical and should bolster the team's passing attack to give them another weapon. The 31-year-old was released by the Jets in early March after catching just 29 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns in 27 games for the Jets after signing a three-year, $24 million deal in 2022. Uzomah, a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals in 2015 out of Auburn, only played in 12 games (eight starts) in 2023 and ended the year on Injured Reserve with an MCL knee injury. He won't be on the fantasy radar this fall as a backup behind Dallas Goedert alongside Grant Calcaterra and Albert Okwuegbunam.

Free-agent TE C.J. Uzomah (Jets) reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, April 11. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

The New York Jets are planning to release tight end C.J. Uzomah (knee), according to sources. The move was fully expected and will save the Jets $5 million-plus on the 2024 salary cap. Uzomah is coming off knee surgery and was set to count $11.2 million on the cap this year. The 31-year-old veteran spent two years with the Jets and was a non-factor on offense, catching 29 of his 39 targets for 290 yards and three touchdowns in 27 games played (21 starts). He played in only 12 games (eight starts) in 2023 and had eight receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown. Uzomah has never eclipsed 500 receiving yards in his nine seasons in the NFL and isn't going to have a robust free-agent market while coming off knee surgery.

New York Jets TE C.J. Uzomah will be released, according to sources. The move will save $5 million on the salary cap.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah and offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson are two of the team's potential salary cap cuts this offseason. Uzomah is a near lock to be released, but the Jets will save less money than they would have had general manager Joe Douglas not restructured Uzomah's contract last offseason. Cutting him would save $5.3 million with $5.9 million in dead cap space. The Jets will also save $5.4 million if/when they trade quarterback Zach Wilson this offseason. The 31-year-old Uzomah sprained his MCL in Week 13 and finished the year on Injured Reserve. He's done very little to help the Jets since the 2022 season, catching only 29 passes on 39 targets for 290 yards and three touchdowns in 27 games.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets TE C.J. Uzomah (knee) said he suffered damage to his medial collateral ligament and meniscus during the Week 13 game as well as a plateau fracture in his tibia. He is not allowed to put weight on his leg until the beginning of February but said his recovery is going well.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets TE C.J. Uzomah (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 6.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that tight end C.J. Uzomah (knee) will go on Injured Reserve after injuring his knee in the Week 13 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Going on Injured Reserve will require Uzomah to miss four games, so there's a good chance he won't play again in 2023 with only five games remaining. The 30-year-old suffered a sprained MCL on Sunday. Uzomah has been well off the fantasy radar in New York this year with only eight catches for 58 yards and one touchdown in 12 games played. Tyler Conklin will continue serving as the team's top pass-catching tight end, while Jeremy Ruckert will be the No. 2 the rest of the way in New York.

New York Jets TE C.J. Uzomah (knee) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 4.
From TheHuddle
According to New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, tight end C.J. Uzomah (knee) suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran didn't last long in Week 13, suffering the injury in the first quarter. Uzomah will probably miss time, and with the Jets unlikely to make it to the postseason, his season could be over. He has just eight catches for 58 yards and a touchdown this year, so a potential absence won't impact many fantasy managers.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets TE C.J. Uzomah (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Week 13 game and has been ruled out.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah suffered a knee injury during Sunday's game and is questionable to return. Uzomah hurt his knee in the first quarter and was eventually carted off. He's most likely done for the rest of the day, despite the questionable tag. He was catchless before exiting the game.
