The Cincinnati Bengals selected Alabama offensive guard Jonah Williams with the No. 11 pick of the 2019 NFL draft. Williams was a rock on the offensive line for Alabama in his three seasons as the starter. Cincinnati could really use some offensive line help for their running game and to keep quarterback Andy Dalton upright. There's a chance Williams could become an excellent left tackle in the NFL, but he's versatile and is the best offensive line prospect in this draft.

The feeling around the league is that the Cincinnati Bengals aren't in the quarterback market for the first round of the draft on Thursday, especially not with the 11th overall pick. Andy Dalton had a disappointing year due to injury in 2018, but he could be on the hot seat in Cincy if he falters again in 2019. The Bengals are probably better off filling more pressing needs early in this draft, but you shouldn't rule them out from drafting a signal-caller at some point for extra depth at the position.

Apr 11 10:03pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) said he will be ready to go when practices begin, and he has already been practicing the formations for head coach Zac Taylor's offense.

Fantasy Spin: Dalton will have a few QB1 performances over the course of the year, but he's a QB2 overall.

Mar 28 1:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown said the team won't consider extending quarterback Andy Dalton before the 2019 season. Dalton's final year of his contract is in 2020, so the upcoming season with new head coach Zac Taylor will be very important for his future in Cincinnati. The 31-year-old signal-caller played in just 11 games due to injury in 2018 and threw for 2,566 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Dalton also lost a lot of playmakers around him due to injury, including receiver A.J. Green, so he receives somewhat of a pass. He could easily bounce back, but Dalton still should only be drafted as a capable fantasy backup.

Mar 27 8:13pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton will not receive a contract extension this offseason because the team wants to see how he plays in 2019, according to owner Mike Brown.

Fantasy Spin: Dalton was limited to 11 games this past season and threw for only 2,566 yards. He will be playing in a new offensive scheme next season and will have a solid receiving group to work with on offense. He should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Mar 15 2:10pm ET

The Cincinnati Bengals signed free-agent offensive guard John Miller to a three-year, $16.5 million deal on Friday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Miller started 47 games the last four years at right guard with the Bills and will likely be viewed as an upgrade over Alex Redmond at the spot in 2019. Cincy also re-signed right tackle Brian Hart to a three-year deal earlier in the week to shore up their offensive line. Quarterbacks Andy Dalton and Jeff Driskel were sacked a combined 37 times last year.

Feb 15 9:33pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) was able to begin throwing a football a couple of weeks ago.

Fantasy Spin: Dalton should be ready to go for the start of the season, and while he can deliver some big games against the right opponents, his overall ceiling is in the QB2 range.

Feb 6 2:13pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton drew praise from new Bengals head coach Zac Taylor Tuesday, Feb. 5, saying the veteran quarterback is a 'great fit' for the coaching staff's offensive system. 'I've seen Andy do all of the things we've asked (Jared Goff) to do (in Los Angeles),' Taylor said. 'He's great under center, great in play action, great on the perimeter and the nakeds (bootlegs), and he's been an accurate passer when asked to drop back.'

Fantasy Spin: Dalton is capable of posting a few notable stat lines with the right matchups, but gamers would be taking an unnecessary risk to make him anything more than a midrange reserve.

Feb 2 6:40pm ET

The Cincinnati Bengals are scheduled to finalize their deal to make Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor as their next head coach after the Super Bowl on Monday, according to a source. It will be the 35-year-old's first head-coaching job in the NFL following two seasons with the Rams. Rams head coach Sean McVay's young assistants continue to popular after his success with the Rams in recent seasons. Taylor will have a lot to work with a healthy Andy Dalton and A.J. Green coming back in 2019, alongside running back Joe Mixon and receiver Tyler Boyd, who broke out in 2018.

Jan 24 11:33pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has a 'number of years' left, according to director of player personnel Duke Tobin, and Tobin said the team is 'comfortable' with Dalton as the starting quarterback.

Fantasy Spin: With a new coaching regime coming to Cincinnati, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Bengals begin to search for their quarterback of the future sooner rather than later. That being said, Dalton should be under center in 2019, providing respectable QB2 production.

Jan 24 12:20pm ET

Despite the Cincinnati Bengals firing of head coach Marvin Lewis after the season, league sources indicate more than one candidate during the team's coaching search expressed approval in quarterback Andy Dalton. Dalton has proven himself capable in the eyes of the personnel department and also has two years remaining with no dead salary cap charge on his contract. "We're very comfortable with Andy," director of player personnel Duke Tobin said. "We think he's got a number of years left. We feel like we can win with him. But with any position group, we don't just throw away the whole draft board at a group just because we're satisfied with who we have. We'll evaluate them and look at them and see if there's an opportunity to add a guy at every position." Dalton only played in 11 games in 2018 due to injury, but he could easily bounce back in 2019 with better health. He has the weapons around him to succeed, but he's best drafted as a fantasy backup with QB1 upside in the right matchups.

Jan 22 1:50pm ET

The Cincinnati Bengals are hiring former Oakland Raiders quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan as their next offensive coordinator. Callahan has never been an offensive coordinator in the NFL but has been a QBs coach since 2015. He'll oversee an offense that could easily bounce back after serious injuries to quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver A.J. Green derailed them in 2018. Cincinnati finished 26th in yards per game (310.8), 24th in passing yards per game (205.6), 21st in rushing yards per game (105.1) and 17th in points per game (23.0) in 2018.

Jan 11 4:10pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Bill Lazor will not return for the 2019 season. The Bengals are expected to hire Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor as their new head coach, and he's likely to bring in his own staff. Lazor didn't have much of a chance this year due to injuries to quarterback Andy Dalton, tight end Tyler Eifert and wide receiver A.J. Green, but Cincy's offense could be on the rise again with a solid nucleus of playmakers returning.

Jan 10 10:50pm ET

The Cincinnati Bengals want to hire Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor as their next head coach whenever the Rams season is over, according to league sources. Taylor is an up-and-coming offensive mind that has been groomed by Sean McVay, and he's only 35 years old. Cinci's offense will be in good shape with quarterback Andy Dalton, running back Joe Mixon and wide receivers A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd all returning for 2019. If they can get any production out of the tight end spot, the Bengals could have plenty of enticing options for fantasy owners to pick from next season.

Dec 2 11:50am ET

The status of Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis heading into the 2019 season is in doubt. The Bengals aren't committed to Lewis beyond this season, as he's believed to have signed a one-year deal with an option for the 2019 season last year. Lewis could move to the front office and have Hue Jackson take over the head coaching duties. Last year was thought to be Lewis' last as the head coach, but they surprisingly brought him back. The Bengals got off to a hot start this year but have faded down the stretch and are now without quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb) for the rest of the season.

From RotoBaller

Dec 2 11:40am ET

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb), whose season has ended, is expected to return to the team in 2019, as sources say his thumb surgery won't affect his future with the club. Dalton finished the 2018 season with 2,566 yards, a 61.9 completion percentage, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 365 pass attempts. The Bengals started off the year strong but then faded, and Dalton struggled in his last few games with A.J. Green out injured. He still has QB1 upside in the right matchups, but Dalton has settled into QB2 territory in fantasy. Jeff Driskel will finish out the season under center with Dalton on Injured Reserve.

From RotoBaller

Dec 1 2:23am ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb Tuesday, Nov. 27. Dalton said he will be ready to go when the team's offseason training program begins in April.

Nov 26 4:43pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 26. QB Tom Savage was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Spin: With Dalton done for the year, Jeff Driskel figures to start for the remainder of Cincinnati's games. He held his own after replacing Dalton in Week 12, but he's not on the fantasy radar in traditional leagues.

Nov 26 4:40pm ET

The Cincinnati Bengals placed quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb) on Injured Reserve on Monday, ending his season. In a corresponding move, the team claimed quarterback Tom Savage off waivers. Dalton finishes the 2018 season with 2,566 yards (61.9 completion percentage), 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The 31-year-old was very mediocre and struggled mightily without top receiver A.J. Green (toe) in recent weeks. Jeff Driskel will take over as the starter for the final five games. He'll be a low-end QB2 in two-QB leagues, and Cincy's offensive weapons need to be slightly downgraded as a result.

From RotoBaller

Nov 26 3:43pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) has yet to receive an official diagnosis on his injured thumb, as he continues to undergo further testing and evaluation, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.
